Frank Thomas: "I could have won 4 more MVP's"
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 06:13 PM) He campaigned for the HOF. Frank will get in. The only question will be if he is first ballot. Some will hold the DH against him, lthough it has now been a position for 40 years. Campaigning can also make some voters make him wait. Some voters also won't vote him on the first ballot because they're just stubborn about voting some people on the first ballot. He certainly belongs in and should be there on the first ballot but it wouldn't shock me if he gets snubbed the first time.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 03:47 PM) There's a bit of Mutombo to his game. Not a lot of touch, but his presence around the hoop really makes you think twice about coming in. Mutombo was bigger, but Davis is sick. He's a lot more skilled than Dikembe ever was. And that's actually a very good question J4L, I really don't have a good answer for you right now. I LOVE Wiggins upside but I also think he has a lower floor than Davis(yes I'm still assuming Wiggins is the number 1 pick), that's a really tough call.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) Apparently 19 months just wasn't enough time... Derrick Rose (toe) admitted that his turf toe injury from 2012 is still bothering him. We should just throw him out there in a full body cast.

Fictional Affair

Fictional Affair
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 10:26 AM) I would do exactly as stated then. I'd write my own novel containing those three women in the first book... Emma Watson, because. Jennifer Lawrence, because she's Americas answer to Emma Watson. And Kate Upton. Because shes Kate Upton. It's a series of 1000 books, btw...book 1 is just the beginning of the story. Hermione and Katniss, there I just saved you a ton of time writing books. You're welcome.

QUOTE (staxx @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 10:26 AM) still can't decide on matt ryan or mike glennon i hate bye weeks. I'd definitely go Glennon. QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 10:41 AM) I have no clue how to judge Matt Ryan at this point so I'm in the same predicament, as seen by my edit of your post. I'd lean towards Tolzien.

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 07:29 PM) Not sure if they're getting mins, but BYU has 3 kids that played on the same HS team last year, Lone Peak, who was one of the best in the country. You see the SIU score from yesterday? Team at least isn't totally incompetent but still can't win games. I don't think we'll finish last in the valley this year though so there's a start I guess

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 06:03 PM) My starting WRs are Marshall,Hilton and Decker. But I'm looking to start a 4th WR in the Flex position. My options are Miles Austin(just picked him up), Terrance Williams, Hartline(started him once I think all year) and Emmanuel Sanders. My starting QB is Romo so I'd actually prefer to start Williams or Austin in hopes of a double points TD pass. Williams has been getting me scores the past month but I'm thinking Austin comes in and starts taking those passes? Thoughts? If memory serves Terrance still had a pretty decent game when Miles played before getting hurt again. I'd go Williams.

I also wouldn't be surprised if FSU changes that rule just for Winston.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 01:36 PM) I really like the Rose-Hinrich backcourt, which they should be using with Butler out, so it's no biggy to me. If that starting backcourt continues to thrive I'd hope to see Deng moved at some point to move Jimmy to the SF position. You're trying to win a championship this year, you're not moving Deng. Not to mention having Hinrich play starters minutes for a long period of time is just a recipe for disaster. But yes, in the short term we can live with out Jummy but I hope it's not a lingering thing.

Ryan Braun
That'd be amazing to grab him if Milwaukee picked up a good chunk of his contract, but yeah, not happening.

And for those of you saying that the best Gronk could do is break up the play, if the receiver can touch the ball I'd say that makes it "catchable" whether he's likely to catch it or not.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 18, 2013 -> 03:39 PM) I know there's still a store open across from the Daley Center in the temple building. I just wonder how much this stuff really appreciates in value over time. I'll probably just throw it in a safe and give it to my kid(s) one day. There's still a store in Hawthorn mall if you're near the North suburbs as well.

2013-2014 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Nov 18, 2013 -> 11:08 PM) It was the right call as the ball was under thrown. The defender contacted Gronk but did not impede his path to the ball. It was essentially uncatchable which is why they came together and waved it off. It was a bad pass and brady was fishing for a call. Also the 13% trestman was talking about stands throughout the whole series. In the end the odds are they will not score there. The bend but don't break philosophy. Um he absolutely impeded his path to the ball.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 18, 2013 -> 10:53 PM) I mean it probably gets picked anyways, but who knows for sure? Maybe he whacks the defender as he tries to catch it and it goes flying into the air or something? It's just silly to allow the refs to make a judgment call when an infraction occurs. They need to change that rule. Ya I don't think he would have caught it but it was definitely "catchable."

If he doesn't get pushed back it's very catchable, that's definitely interference.
