Isn't It Amazing How Easy It Is to Keep Rabid Fans Happy?
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 20, 2011 -> 08:15 PM) You say this all the time. Just because the supposed strength of the team underachieved doesn't mean you can't compensate in other areas. Kotsay was a joke. Everybody knew it before the season. He reinforced that with his pathetic performance. Thing is I'm not mad at him. That was all Ozzie and KW. Ya, this.

Crede to retire
Loved the guy and wish him nothing but the best in his life after baseball.

Chris Sale Will Start the Season in the Bullpen
Sale has better pure stuff than Prior did and it's not that close imo. Prior had very good stuff but it wasn't completely overwhelming like Stras has or even Chris. What made him so damn special was that he was able to locate that very good stuff pretty much wherever he wanted to.

Official 2010-2011 NCAA Basketball Thread
QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 20, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) Normally I wouldn't be interested because polls are irrelevant in basketball (heck of a concept lol), but all the top four teams lost this week. Who is your new No. 1? Clearly none of the top five or so aren't playing especially well because 4 of them lost this week and Duke is probably just on par with Ohio State, Texas and Kansas. I think Texas is the best team in the country but I'd say Kansas deserves to be ranked 1 at this point.

Mark Buehrle talks about the future after 2011
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 07:22 AM) I think the AL Central has and will continue to figure him out. You can only fool people with junk for so long. Yes, after a whole decade of pitching, the AL Central will finally figure him out, couldn't agree more.

Mark Buehrle
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 07:40 AM) Buehrle is a sort of Pujols situation for us. We know if we extend him, we will probably be paying him for more than he is worth at the end of his contract. Do the Sox owe him that? Do the Sox have to do it to appease their fanbase? Mark Buehrle at this point is probably my favorite athlete of all time but the Sox owe him nothing and if he wants too much money than you have to let him walk.

Mark Buehrle
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 12:59 AM) His ability to eliminate the opponents' running game somewhat negates his mediocre peripherals. And he's certainly not a $14 million dollar a year pitcher. But it would be a sad, sad day were Mark to go elsewhere. Who gives a hoot about his peripherals? We know what we're getting from him every year, he's a guy that his secondary stats mean absolutely nothing.

Chris Sale Will Start the Season in the Bullpen
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 12:58 PM) And you have no idea that this won't delay his progress as a starting pitcher either. No, neither of us know if this will help or hinder his development as a starter but I do know that this is the best situation for our team this year so it makes the most sense by far.

Things sure change in one year...
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 17, 2011 -> 02:48 PM) Do you have any idea how bad CQ was in RF? Smallz from the Sandlot wouldn't have been any worse. Unless you're prime Manny Ramirez with the bat, you have negative value overall when you're that horrendous defensively. Don't hate on Smallz.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 17, 2011 -> 05:44 PM) I'd say Dye in 05 turned out to be pretty big. Or was that the end or 04. Offseason going into 05. This is obviously the biggest at the time fa signing we've had in forever but JD will definitely go down as one of the best Sox offseason signings of all time.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 17, 2011 -> 05:34 PM) I really don't anticipate much of an adjustment period for Noah. His game is all energy, rebounding and defensive positioning -- all things that he can do fine coming back from his injury. Ya, for the most part. he's still a 14 ppg scorer so you might get a few less points from him per game but everything else he should be ok at. That being said, playing a basketball game at full speed is a lot different than just running on a treadmill so even though everyone has said that he's stayed in tremendous shape, he might not fully be in basketball shape when he returns.

Albert Pujols' extension - Cards fail to extend by deadline
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 17, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) That's like saying he's been holding back. Lol. If he were any better he'd be '04 Bonds. Ha, I know it sounds absurd. Obviously he's not holding back, but he really does look to be in the best shape of his career. So ya, I guess I am talking about some sort of historic season here.
