  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) Anyone who wants to, or thinks we will, trade Danks during the season is insane. Yeup.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) Am I a bad person for loving the Rock out there? Crazy it's been 7 years, but if you didn't know better, Rock made it sound like he'll be a little more involved with WWE even after WM. I just youtubed it after reading this. That was good stuff. Sounded like a freakin bomb went off in that arena when his music hit, that place exploded. Oh and why would you feel bad about it? The guy has never ever had a bad thing to say about the WWE, he just moved on with his career, he did nothing wrong.
  3. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 01:15 AM) Ohio State should have remained the #1 team in the country. I mean, you really could have made a fair argument for any of them, and as Dan said it really doesn't matter. Texas is playing the best basketball in the country by far right now but the rankings are meaningless.
  4. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 10:58 PM) Garbage because you've never heard of them? So you mean the best white rapper to ever do it then? I agree. Man, you honestly think Jay Z is the best? He's damn good, don't get me wrong but he's not the best ever.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 03:13 PM) Sigh... Estimated time until this begets a Tribune article and a full thread here? I laughed.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) I don't always care for his scowl and attitude, I just think he's one of the best hip hop MCs thats ever been around. This.
  7. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) I guess a lot of that depends on how well he would have played. Really not a bad looking list for an MLB.com list. Not sure I like Ackley so high, but overall it's pretty fair. The Sox system is awful, and has been for a while, so it's not surprising that they only have one in the top 50. That's definitely all we deserve. At least he's a blue chipper though(gotta look for a positive somewhere).
  8. I watched a bit of the grammy's and the performances for the most part were pretty damn solid. Eminem's was A-mazing.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) Yeah, I'm avoiding any sausagefests even if I always have thought it was a lame "holiday". I mean there's bound to be good looking, single girls at a Bucks-Clippers game on valentines day, right?
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) I'm going through the same frustration with my alma mater. Speaking of, we're still awful but hey at least Diamond is playing tonight.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 08:51 PM) As long as he stays out of the AL I'm cool. I still think they'll work something out. And another thing, am I the only person that gets really f***ing annoyed when I read s*** like Pujols is "perhaps" baseballs best player or "probably" the best player of his genertation? There is no f***ing perhaps or probably. It's like saying Jordan was probably the best player of his era. Albert Pujols is WITHOUT QUESTION the best player of the last decade. Nobody is close. Not Mauer. Not Cabrera. Not Carlos Gonzalez. Nobody. Mark Kotsay is damn close. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 09:07 PM) What AL team could afford to add a $30 million dollar a year player to their roster? The Yankees and Red Sox are just fine at 1B. And I don't even think they would or could open up their wallets for Albert. Tigers? No. Maybe the Angels? And they just took on the most ridiculous contract in baseball. I'd bet that the Yankees and Red Sox would still try to go after Albert if he hits the market. It's Albert Pujols, luxury or not those type of franchises aren't going to pass up having the best player in the game if they have their choice. That being said, I don't see Pujols going to either of those teams, I still think he'll be back in St. Louis but if not, the Angels would be my 2nd guess. Oh, and he's not going to the Cubs, that's not happening.
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 06:24 PM) Fixed Because he's white, not black.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 11:59 PM) Mauer has a history of knee problems. It is the reason that they have been talking about moving him away from catching since he got to the majors. People are just paranoid about catchers so a guy that has that much value from just his bat is always going to have the talk surrounding him that he should switch positions. Problem there is that Mauer is so awesome behind the plate too that you can't be in any rush to move him anywhere else.
  14. The fan base argument is just ridiculous. Everyone has good ones and everyone has awful ones, it's that simple.

    i am drunk

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) Agreed. Thankfully while in Europe I don't have many people to text and it's really expensive to so I dont feel compelled to at all. But in the states, it's bad news. My best defense against it was to just start deleting some numbers out of my phone because I'm very good at handling myself when I'm wasted but apparently drunk texting is my weakness.

    i am drunk

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 04:21 PM) I need to start leaving my phone in my room before I go out, or just have someone else hold it for me. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten myself in a lot of trouble because of drunk texting. It's bad news.
  17. Everyone knows I think this play is insanely overrated BUT this is a cool picture:
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) Trouble is...how do you define "top tier teams"? Right now, the top tier teams are basically the ones that have played the Heat and beaten them. They haven't played the Spurs yet, they were without LBJ when they played the Bulls, they've beaten Orlando, Dallas beat the crap out of them. You wouldn't be asking that question if they weren't consistently losing to Boston. If they hadn't played the C's 3 times, or hadn't lost all 3 after today, then you wouldn't think to ask that. Ya, that's a fair point. I think I've made it pretty clear that I don't consider Orlando an elite team but ya they've just gotten destroyed by Boston and Dallas. I just saw a stat a few days ago about their record against top 5 teams record wise in the NBA and it was horrendous but that's obviously all because of the Celtics.
  19. Seriously, are the Heat going to beat one of the top tier teams eventually? They have the christmas day win against the Lakers but besides that they just can't beat an upper echelon team(ya I know there's a lot of time left in this game). I keep thinking of them as the favorite to win it all but at some point they have to prove something this season.
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) I understand the organization's thinking here, but i'd hate to see Sale pigeonholed as a reliever. I'm hoping that putting him in the bullpen for year (and i think he will be for the duration of the year) isn't a permanent thing. He'll be tried out as a starter eventually, I wouldn't worry too much about that. The best thing for the team this year is for Sale to be in the bullpen so that's what the Sox are doing, next year is a different story.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 12:56 PM) Even if they're not that great, they have the shooters to win 2 games just off of random chance. That's a tough series just on the odds. Eh, they'll just as likely completely lose a game or two that way. Like I said, I'd much rather play the Magic as they're just no where near as good as Boston or Miami. We'd beat Orlando in a 7 game series, Boston/Miami I'm not as confident about though I think we'd have a shot unlike most people.
  22. The Magic just aren't that great. It'd be very nice to get them in the 2nd round but I'm sure it's going to be Miami or Boston.
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 11:29 AM) I have serious doubts about the Phillies. They're still my pick to win the division, as it's impossible to go against that rotation. But their lineup and bullpen have some serious question marks. As for the Red Sox, what can you say? They're f***ing loaded. See, I kind of feel the opposite. I wouldn't be completely shocked if they get overtaken by the Braves in that division, however, if they get into the playoffs, good luck beating those top 4 in a short series.
  24. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 11:53 AM) I'll be sure not to watch any games in which Humber, Harrell or Pena start. Maybe I can come to your spot and get wasted on those days? Ha, sounds like a plan to me.
