Pierzynski Back; 2 years, $8 million
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 10:39 PM) I mean, no matter if you wanted us to bring him back or let him move on, it's hard to argue $4 million a year. The end. I would have been ok moving on from AJ if there was something decent out there but since there really isn't, 4 mill a year is really a steal to bring him back. Great day to be a Sox fan. Now give me Lee/Konerko and some bullpen help and HEY, we have a baseball team.

We're not the Blue Jays, I'm confused. Seriously though, that's a real nice deal, welcome back AJP!

Lee or Konerko?
The more and more I think about this, the more it's becoming a no brainer. Derrick Lee is the better investment overall, no question.

White Sox Off-Season Catch All Thread
QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 06:26 PM) Why does no one think that signing Rauch for the bullpen is a good idea? He didn't exactly leave on the best of terms.

White Sox Sign Dunn
QUOTE (sircaffey @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 05:38 PM) Just sign DLee and take the 2 comp picks for Pauly. Save the cash and spend it on the swiss cheese pen. I was actually thinking about this for a little while after I finally left my computer a few hrs ago and I honestly completely agree. Lee is going to be a hell of a lot cheaper and he's most likely going to put up similar numbers to Pauly while playing better defense and being a better base runner. Give me DLee.

White Sox Sign Dunn
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 02:59 PM) If Dunn is signed and the Sox go out and grab D.Lee, how many other holes are there? Closer? Another bullpen arm? Catcher. And some people would say RF as well as Quentin really shouldn't be out there but I'm sure we're going to have to live with him if Dunn/Lee are signed.

White Sox Sign Dunn
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 03:53 PM) Done how? Check out his stats after he left the Cubs Check out his Cub stats post all star break as well, even better.

White Sox Sign Dunn
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) DLee is done. Eh, he was pretty damn solid after the AS break last season. Add that to his + glove and if you can get him at some sort of a discount, he'd be a very nice signing.

White Sox Sign Dunn
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 01:38 PM) (Probably because other teams would want Buehrle). What now?

Bobby Jenks
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 12:16 PM) Right now the White Sox bullpen consists of Santos, Sale and Thorton. Well those are three good ones to build a bullpen around.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 12:12 PM) Rival exec says #WhiteSox can only afford two of three: Buehrle, Dunn, Konerko. #Chicago #MLB (Unless, of course, they increase payroll.) - Jon Morosi Um, duh! Thank you rival exec.

Official 2010-2011 NCAA Basketball Thread
QUOTE (kev211 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 11:55 PM) And so much for that, ISU couldn't buy a basket and the refs were awful. Not that it mattered even if those things went well they still would have lost the score just wouldn't have been as lopsided. Redbird was rocking for about the first 10 minutes the UNLV shut it up. Good thing the Valley won that challenge last year because there's actually a decent possibility we get swept in this damn thing this year, we'll win 3 games tops(and that's really pushing it). Besides the fact that our league sucks, the top 3 teams in the MWC are ridiculously good this year.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 12:53 PM) I tried to look back to the point where we had out last "Will the Lakers hit 72?" discussion, but couldn't find it. Man, we get a lot of posts in this thread. It was only a few weeks ago that a few people brought that up. I say this every year because for some reason it gets brought up a lot but that record isn't being broken in our lifetimes.

Tree up?
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 12:36 PM) FIXED. Heh, I knew someone would do that. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 12:39 PM) Preach. One of my cats is totally cool about it and will sit under the tree and have a fine time. The other one isn't happy unless ornaments are on the floor and he's nustled somewhere in the upper 2/3. Ya, our youngest one(which drives me crazy in general) not only tries to knock everything off the damn tree but decides she also wants to climb the damn thing and sit in the middle of it.

Tree up?
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 10:35 AM) We had a tree just like that. We finally ended up taking all the lights off of it. Having a pre-lit tree sounds nice at first... We've had one for about 4 years now, works just fine so far. Anyways, Cats + Christmas Trees = Most annoying thing in the world.

Rockies Interested in Floyd?
QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) You must enjoy playing fantasy sports. I can't believe that a Sox fan would say that after the Swisher and OC debacles here. Lets also not pretend that it hasn't worked with certain guys that we've picked up. It all depends on the situation, O Dog might fit in perfectly with the Sox clubhouse, who the hell knows.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 12:26 AM) I think Rose has elevated his game this season to be in the conversation with Paul and Williams. Just sayin. Easily. As a matter of fact, he might just be the best offensive pg in the game right now, problem is the other side of the ball.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 11:38 PM) russell westbrook is playing out of his mind right now, almost makes it seem like it's his team instead of durant's. if it werent for CP3 and DWill, the debate would be who is the best PG in the league between Rose and Westbrook, maybe Rondo. So who was laughing at me when I say Rose can learn a thing or two from Westbrook back in the summer? What exactly is Rose going to learn from Westbrook though? Russell has been fantastic this season but Derrick has been just a tad better.

Juan Uribe Is About To Get Paid...
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 06:52 PM) Uribe hit .149/.196/.277/.473 in the 2010 postseason. He did fairly well in big spots, hence a positive WPA, but it wasn't anything otherworldly. As I've said before, I like Juan because of his defense but his offense drove me beyond nuts, that being said the one thing you can always count on from him was a sac fly when you needed one in a big spot.

Rockies Interested in Floyd?
QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 04:54 PM) Why do you want to do that? Beckham should not be traded unless you get a sure thing in return. Rasmus has potential, but he's not a sure thing. His "K to games played" ratio is pretty eye-opening. Rasmus is essentially the Cardinals version of Beckham except the fact he has a higher ceiling as a hitter. If you can sign a decent 2b(wouldn't be that difficult) then a Beckham for Rasmus swap actually makes a ton of sense to be honest.
