  1. What a crazy game that was.
  2. Holy Houston Texans!

    QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 06:35 PM) Do the sequels stand up to the original? IMO, no. Obviously some people do like 2 and 3 but I think each movie has gotten worse than the one before.
  4. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 09:50 AM) How you like me now, Justin? Booyah! Both teams in the playoffs. Well you and Warren still suck. And yay for playoffs, I don't know a lot about this team but it's pretty impressive for them to get in after that start. Well done Mitz.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 07:55 AM) The main issue I think with all of this, if the Sox go out and sign A-Rod to a $25-$30M per season deal this off-season, are the Sox going to be able to fill other needs? Are they going to be able to bring in 2, 3 new guys for the pen? Are we going to be able to upgrade at one of the OF spots? Because as good of a player as A-Rod is, you fill those needs with some good players, and this team can easily make the playoffs next season. Well right, I think that's why everything depends on if JR thinks ARod can make that money back on his own(if that makes sense). If he thinks he can and he's still willing to spend more money than it's a no brainer, but if not than it's also a no brainer to not sign him.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 04:56 AM) I have no sympathy for Torre at all, your expected to make the playoffs with the roster and payroll of that team. And the past 7 years he hasnt won the WS so thats basicly 7 failures... not 2 mention he was the manager of the biggest collapse in post-season history. Dispite all this they were still willing to give him 5 million with a chance to make a total of 8. I dont know how you can expect job security given the past 7 years. When your still going to be the highest paid manager I dont feel sympathy if thats not enough for you. The Yankees have not had a good enough team to win the World Series the last few years, it's that simple. To put it on Torre is ridiculous.
  7. I have no idea how much money ARod would bring in just by himself but if JR thinks he's worth whatever he gets then so be it. There's no denying that Alex would help this team big time and if we were able to sign him and still have some payroll flexibility then please please do it. Now honestly, I don't think there is a chance in hell that something like this happens but I'd love for it to.
  8. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 12:25 AM) The Toews goal. Very nice. If somebody steps into him he wouldn't have scored, and I don't know if Theodore forgot that goalies are allowed to move across the ice, but it takes some hands to get that on net. That was one sick goal. Wow, that's good stuff. Kenny, when I get home for either Thanksgiving or Winter break I actually really want to go to some games. So, good job.
  9. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 19, 2007 -> 11:34 AM) A-Rod >>>>>> Uribe Lies
  10. Trading DLS is a no no.

    QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 08:55 PM) I was dying last night watching that. Absolutely hilarious.
  12. QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 04:52 PM) Tejada for Contreras, Uribe and John Shelby might work. Not a chance.
  13. QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 16, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) Cleveland is going nowhere next year. . The Rockies on the other hand ... lightning in a bottle like us in 05. I'd like to know how you came up with these two theories. As good as Cleveland looks, the Sox and last years Tigers looked just as good(better in the Sox case) and both failed to make the playoffs the next season. As for the Rockies, they got their whole core lineup coming back, their rotation should be even stronger with Morales and Jiminez in it for the whole season and they'll have a very good core in their pen as well(though who knows with a bullpen). I can honestly see both teams contending for a championship next season or neither could make the playoffs, that's baseball.
  14. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 16, 2007 -> 09:19 AM) I just hope they were as impressed by Gavin Floyd's ability to lose five miles off his fastball from the stretch (instead of the usual ten or so), beat teams in the rain when they've all-but clinched their division and win with 500 foot fences as some of the posters here. Gillick fell for it, right? That 0 qs prediction is still killing you, aint it?
  15. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Oct 16, 2007 -> 02:32 PM) Make this the offiicial "Keep Jon Garland" post. Don't trade to fill one hole and open another in the starting pitching. We have real good starting pitching. The Rockies are winning with good pitching. The Indians & Red Sox are winning with good pitching. We have it except in the pen. Jon Garland needs to stay. Serious question: It seems that you want to keep most of our current players and trade chips, how are we supposed to improve the team if we wont move any of our chips? Free agency alone aint gonna cut it.
  16. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 16, 2007 -> 12:57 AM) Ehh -- the difference between either AL lineup and the D'Backs is so enormous it isn't even funny. You could obviously do this for every player in the order, but things are just a tad bit different when you're pitching to number three hitter Eric Byrnes vs number three hitter Travis Hafner or David Ortiz. And I know this isn't the ALCS thread, but the ALCS so far has been everything I could've asked for. I'll be shocked if the series doesn't make its way back to Boston. Those are two great baseball teams going at it. Truth but the Phillies have a pretty damn good lineup and the Rockies handled them with relative ease as well.
  17. Boo, same time as my IM football game. Aren't you guys supposed to be planning this stuff so I can listen?
  18. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Oct 16, 2007 -> 12:34 AM) Congrats to the Rockies!! I called them going to the World Series (Look at the prediction thread ). Mark my words it's gonna be Rockies-Indians (Heart going for the Rocks, Prediction going to the Injuns) Boo cheating.
  19. We got ourselves a ball game.
  20. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Oct 15, 2007 -> 11:01 PM) Another dagger in the hearts of Cubs fans everywhere. Colorado is the last of the recent expansion teams to make it to the World Series before they do. And I fully expect the Rockies to win it all, too. I think they will too but they'll lose some games in that series.
  21. It's just crazy, you make a mistake against this team and you're going to pay big time.
  22. After that error you just know at least one run is going to score now.
