  1. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) Nice catch by Anderson... At least his defense doesn't suck... If he can manage to get 4 hits today I will put a Brian Anderson fan club in my sig... Quite the simple task there...get 4 hits off the best pitcher in baseball.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Haha....good job Anderson. I wouldn't mind seeing Pods bunt here. At the least, get Anderson in scoring position. Let Brian go on first move, the guy can move. Where going to have to manufacture a run somehow, mine as well try eventually to steal...even with this tough battery.
  3. Well, no runs but a productive inning at least because Johan had to throw some pitches.
  4. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 06:34 PM) What do you want me to do? Leave the site forever.
  5. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) I'm sorry I didn't realize this was the Brian Anderson fan boy site... At least when AROW strugged he always had that short compact swing... Brian has one of the ugliest swings this side of Juan Uribe... Brian has done nothing to show that he's going to turn the corner or improve at all... I'd love to eat crow on this but so far all Brian has proved is that he's overmatched by major league pitching... In 11 whole games.
  6. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 04:55 PM) I don't know - I've seen that approach by the Sox. And it ain't pretty. There really isn't a good approach against Santana, if he's on, you're done. That being said, I would say hacking away probably is the best way to go because if you get in a two strike hole and have to protect against that changeup you're in a lot of trouble.
  7. Betancourt has been placed on the dl. Cleveland is in trouble(well, not these next 3 games). That pitching staff isn't good as it is but now they've lost their best reliever imo for a period of time. They're going to struggle.
  8. Should be a good one. Johan is as hittable right now as he'll ever be but I'm sure he's still going to throw a good game against us because he always does. Hopefully we can manufacture a few runs and pull this out. Also, I wouldn't be shocked to see Pablo start tonight, iirc he actually did pretty decent against Santana last year.
  9. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 01:41 PM) East: #1 Detroit over #8 Milwaukee in 5 games #2 Miami over #7 Chicago in 6 games #3 New Jersey over #6 Indiana in 6 games #4 Cleveland over #5 Washington in 7 games West: #1 San Antonio over #8 Sacramento in 5 games #2 Phoenix over #7 Los Angeles in 5 games #6 Los Angeles Clippers over #3 Denver in 7 games #4 Dallas over #5 Memphis in 6 games East: Detroit over Milwaukee in 4 Miami over Chicago in 6 Nets over Pacers in 7 Cavs over Wiz in 6 West: Spurs over Kings in 5 Lakers over Suns in 7 Nuggets over Clips in 6 Dallas over Memphis in 7.
  10. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) I swear it seems like he is one of those guys who ya think was around forever, and yet is still really young. Kinda like Guzman when he was with the Twins. Jon Garland.
  11. I bet Afflalo stays. Not sure about Farmar, there's been rumors that he really wants to go to the NBA.
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 06:16 PM) LOL. I don't know how I even remembered that. 4/20 must be an important date for you. Bad break for the Cubs, DLee is one of those guys you have to respect no matter which team he is on.
  13. I'm rooting for Miguel but he's never going to be more then a backup catcher.
  14. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) I'm with that thinking. How old is Malone again? 25 I believe(not 100 percent sure here).
  15. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 11:34 PM) Agreed. They have way too many easy outs in their everyday lineup. I know Rowand is gonna tell me I don't know what I'm talking about and that the Twins are great. LOL. I've been down that street many times. I think the Twins are the 2nd best team in this division but hopefully them and Cleveland decide to suck, it'd make life much easier for all of us.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) Last year, they got into these pointless s***ty distractions in August...Iguchi complaining about days off, people complaining about attendance, and suddenly they looked up and were on an 8 game losing skid. I'd rather them get these distractions out of the way now. 7 games.
  17. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) I'll say it again: No way. I'll make a bet that we don't win 98, if you're game. I think there is a good chance that we can win 100 but I don't bet on the Sox as a team. I never have and never will, it's my superstitious side I guess.
  18. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) I think Zito ends up a Met this year and gets extended. I think they deal Milledge and either Mike Pelfrey or Aaron Heilman for him. I think he'd be a great fit for an NL team If he does get traded it definitely wouldn't surprise me to see him get traded to the Mets but they absolutely can't afford to trade Heilman. He's way to important for their pen right now.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) Exactly on Vaz, he has shut down the Royals twice and the other start there was an excuse (from Ozzie) that he was tipping pitches. I have him pegged as our No. 3 guy, but I still would like to see a couple of more starts against real competition (i.e. not the Royals). So far against one legit team he got shelled. I didn't get to see Garland pitch so I don't exactly know how he looked(from the sounds of it he was better but still not great) but Vaz was just absolutely nasty today, nobody would have hit him today.
  20. Anyone know exactly what is wrong with Betancourt? IMO he's their best reliever and if he's out for a long time their bullpen is going to completely suck and they're going to be in some trouble.
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) Baltimore :headshake Baltimore answering right back. 4-3 now with runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs for Miggy. The whole inning started with a Corey Patterson bunt single.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 06:10 PM) Johan Santana is the best pitcher in baseball period. His stuff is so f***ing sick and he knows exactly how to use it, he's just one of those damn pitchers that comes around only once every decade. Mark is a f***ing awesome pitcher, don't get me wrong. The guy has some good pitches and is smart as hell, pitches tons of innings and is a great guy but he's just nowhere near Santana right now. Yeup, agree with everything, I'm just so used to saying american league in my arguments, but he is the best pitcher in the majors, no doubt in my mind.
