very much so......... There will be some players in AA that expected to be in AAA and others that end up back in Winston-Salem that expected to be in Birmingham...... Should be an interesting shakeout...... guess we'll know next Saturday

I disagree......... I don't think a general comment like that is a big deal. If anything, it makes every player take a second look at what they are giving to the club right now......

Why in the hell would we want to trade for a guy that couldn't beat out Miles, who we chose Harris over?? I am not going to start trumpeting Willie Harris' campaign, but let's chill and give this guy a chance. The one problem everyone has had with him is hit hitting, yet he is hitting .300 in ST and getting into a groove at the right time.

If we carry 12 pitchers in the beginning of the season, it will only be temporary.

I think it is a very good move. The Sox traded a AAA pitcher for an MLB outfielder. Ginter needs a change of scenery. The Sox needed a backup CF.

My guess is Phillips will be the other starter in Birmingham, giving that rotation 4 lefties.

UNS, what makes you say Anderson is a headcase? I have never heard that.

Allow me to split the difference on this one. No I don't think Adkins is our closer, nor should he be the closer this year (unless the bottom completely falls out of our bullpen). However, I do think short relief is a better suited role for Adkins based on what I have been told about him. His future, if he can put it all together, is likely as a setup man or potentially a closer.

He just might. I have never seen Jon pitch, but I have always heard he had real good stuff and if he harnessed it, he was going to be very good. A short reliever (or even closer down the road) might be the right situation for him.

Not sure MSF. Obviously there is a logjam of pitchers at the AAA and AA level. It really seems like we have about 15 pitchers that are at least AA level guys plus the AAA pitchers. Unfortunately, unless they move some bodies, some guys may get pushed back to AA who otherwise deserve a shot at AAA. And at the same time, others will get pushed back to Class A who really shouldn't be there.

Break it up kids..... time to go our separate ways.

It may not have anything to do with numbers. It may have everything to do with experience and Jackson has it. If Ozzie is more confident going with the veteran guy, Adkins numbers won't mean squat. If he is not confident in Jackson, then Adkins has a shot. FWIW, Matt Guerrier had basically the same exact numbers with the Twins and he was sent down to AAA over the weekend.
