Great Falls White Sox
Elrockin see if you can dig up some info on Brian Anderson. He hasn't played the last 3-4 days. I heard his injury was minor, but can't recall what it was or hot he was injured.

New voting procedure
I do believe that one spot should be held for a player like Clemens who is retiring at the end of the season after a long career. They just increased the roster by two to 32 players, so why not make one of them a "legacy pick"?

New voting procedure
And if not the players, just have bud selig pick em anyway, i mean, he gets Clemens in there through a bunch of bulls*** and Zito said he was fine! That's terrible. Selig had nothing to do with Zito being replaced. The A's said he couldn't pitch, so MLB said he needed to be replaced. It's no different from when Toronto wanted to keep Halladay from pitching but MLB mandated that he be available to pitch one inning. Zito not being able to pitch was Oakland's call, not Bud's and not Barry's.

Honel called up to AA?!?
Honel is back in Winston-Salem.

Honel called up to AA?!?
I called you that when you responded to a post that Borchard had two hits with "his two strikeouts make it not so great" or something to that effect.

Playing GM over the all star break
OK how about playing Manager for a day Well done
-
Gotta Bad Feeling...
I was just going to mention that... That was, in my mind, the beginning of the way the All-Star game has been played the last 10 years. The exception: Tony Gwynn played at least 9 innings in 1994 (maybe more, but fell asleep in the 10th last night).

Anyone who's going tonight..
Sounds like my kinda place. Hell, I'd even trade great food for messy bathrooms. LOL

Playing GM over the all star break
I only have one problem with your ideas...... They are things that the Manager should do, not the GM (with the exception of deciding who replaces Porzio if needed). Other than that, I think you have some good ideas.

Creatine was the "designer supplement" for body builders before andro and is still widely used. Creatine creates problems with athletes if they are not properly hydrated. I think you are correct in that its purpose is to make the muscles rebound more quickly after a workout, therefore allowing them to grow faster. Creatine is basically just an offshoot of all of the protein supplements guys use. If taken properly, I have no problem with using creatine. The problem is monitoring those who take it so that it is used safely. If baseball wants to ban some of these substances for competitive reasons, then it has that choice (assuming they can work it out with the players union). But to bash a guy for taking legal substances to better his physique isn't exactly fair. People do it all the time in the gym, whether they are professional athlete's or not.

It gives them a chance to play a kids game a make a lot of money. Otherwise they'd be mechanics, lawyers, doctors, etc, etc.. And convenience store workers, and construction workers and poverty in general for most any Latin player. The game is by no means one sided. Both the players and the owners get as well as give. But they both owe it to the game that gives them their livelihood to make the game as good as it can be. Selfish attitudes don't make things better.

Zito Out
Oakland says they told him he wasn't going to pitch. Barry says he didn't understand it that way, that he didn't think it was a final decision. It was a misunderstanding. So how do you blame Selig for a misunderstanding between a pitcher and his team? If you want to blame someone, blame the most meddlesome GM in baseball.

So the game gives them nothing?? This is ridiculous...

Michelle, if the playesr were smart they would owe the money to the game. And without the fans they wouldn't get the salaries they get. Just like without people wanting to go on the internet, the internet companies (Ya Bad example) wouldn't get the money they get. jas as i said before .... no one forces the fans to go........... its all a matter of choices............. You're right, no one forces the fans to go. But the players don't live the lives they do without them. So to act as if the fans don't matter is extrememly narrow minded. and where did i say the fans dont matter......i said that they are not owed anything .. choices in life my friend.... it all comes down to the choices we make...........i dont expect a win each and every time i go to a game.. .no matter how nice it would be.. .they dont guarentee me one with my season ticket package... i choose to keep the package because i like to go to the park and the games.....but i have no expatations except for seeing a complete game when i am there.........everything else is a bonus.......... You aren't even getting the point.... I'm done with this.

you can thank corp greed and the commish and owners for the way the game has been run into the ground.. Exactly how have they run the All-Star Game into the ground?? Other than perhaps the argument that Interleague play has taken away from it? What specific things have they done to ruin the All-Star Game?

I'm going to Chitown.
Think whatever you want. I called the four place you mentioned and every one of the charges for parking.
-
Bonds
So now the part of the game that is very wrong, is okay, just because it has existed for a while?
-
Bonds
You have a very shallow view of the game of baseball and its history. Actually, you sound like an agent trying to justify getting $150 million for your star player. Take the blinders off and see the big picture. It is really a nice one if it doesn't hasn't already been destroyed by such narrow thinking!

I'm going to Chitown.
Not looking for a fight at all, just a little respect. I have traveled to Chicago and other big cities enough that I do know what I am talking about. If you park in hotel facilities, you will pay for parking. Sure they will put it on your bill, but you are still paying for it. If self parking to you is finding a spot on the street then we are talking about two completely different things.
-
I'm going to Chitown.
lol nope its not enough.. cause its not everywhere and anywhere you go...you can find out for sure by checking with the hotel when you make your reservations... always helps to inquire about these things....but i suppose since you frequent chicago so much youd know better than those who live here right............. I did check. I called those places. And for what its worth, the Fairmont charges $34/day and has no self parking. The Wyndham on N. Michigan charges $36/day with no self parking. Shall I keep making phone calls or is it POSSIBLE for you to admit you are wrong? Or would you like to call the hotels yourself?

with their travel schedules maybe this is important to them??? they do have other things in their lives to attend to and being away from home alot makes that pretty hard.......the point is this game doesnt hold the luster it once did.....and you can blame alot of things on that.......... Including the very reasons you just gave.
