  1. Um, with all apologies for speaking for Senor BF, I believe what he was saying was that, on paper, the matchups looked sweep-o-riffic for the Cubs(esp. after Diaz was slotted in for Shoenwerdc, jdv,v,chjfgskldfkshviess). However, as it happens in baseball maybe moreso than in any other sport, the on-paper analysis was burnt to ash, and the Sox won 2 of 3. Can't ever truly predict the ebbing and flowing of a baseball team--that's the beauty of it. Methinks Brando just likes to prepare himself for the worst. He is a Sox fan, so that's not always a bad plan.
  2. Well, given that the Sox offense as a whole hits lefties very well, here's one area where Sandy is doing just fine: BA vs. RHP: Olivo -- .198 Alomar -- .291
  3. Garland still doesn't have the maturity to 1)Keep focused after the offense gives him a lead, or 2) Pitch over defensive mistakes. It seems like every time the offense gives him a few runs, he consistently turns around the next inning and gives them right back. And when he gets a few bad breaks, he falls apart and doesn't seem able to recover. Hopefully, it's just the exceptions that are sticking in my head, and that I'm wrong on both accounts, but there is no way I trust Garland in a playoff game at this point.
  4. Well then, many Sox fans are Asshats!
  5. Why would ST holders sell their tickets for this series? Sounds like a Cub ST holder thing to do.
  6. That's ridiculous. I was there Friday, and it was at WORST 50-50.
  7. That's not true, have you seen Kirstie Alley lately? Yikes.
  8. The real question is where Rauch went after he was taken out. Did he stick around the clubhouse? Head for his hotel room? Walk down 35th St. to get a hotdog?
  9. Agreed. When I think of leaders with a strong moral fiber, I think of Dwight Eisenhower, Abraham Lincoln, and George W. Bush. Yes, nothing says strong moral character like heroically serving your country in wartime, courageously abolishing slavery, or brazenly lying about a DWI conviction. When I think of Americans who stand for the best in American culture, I think of Franklin Roosevelt, The Wright Brothers, and George W. Bush. Because, nothing exudes the spirit of what it means to be an American like rising from a childhood battle with polio to become the leader of the free world, or spending countless hours with prototype after prototype, perservering to the point of becoming the first humans to fly, or spending 42% of your time as a tax-funded public servant on vacation. Yes, get the train back on track. Vote Bush.
  10. No matter what your musical tastes are, it is universally agreed upon that one Methods of Mayhem song is one too many.
  11. I cant decide until I see what moves are made(if any). If no moves are made, second place.
  12. It's sad that you can't get the truth from anybody anymore when it comes to politics. The Limbaughs are biased to the right, the Moores to the left, the truth is somewhere in the middle, but nobody wants to go that route. You know what needs a salary cap worse then baseball? Politics. Remove the ability of business interests to influence candidates via campaign contributions and fundrasing. I cant point to ONE politician that I would say confidently is in office or running for office simply out of a desire to be a good public servant. Not a f***ing one. They're all in it for power or money. Pathetic. rant over.
  13. Nope, youre right on. The Sox staff leads the league.
  14. I will be there, in the Vince section(That's the Upper Deck) I'm not a fan of the UD, but Sox-Cubs + free ticket = Ed shuts up and deals with it.
  15. Wrong answer? Why? There's an obvious need for pitching on this team, and they've proven that they can score runs without Magglio. The Sox are NOT resigning him next year, so why not get something for him while improving your team's chances for a playoff run at the same time? This makes so much sense, there's no way it happens.
  16. I like this idea. How about trading Maggs for Garcia and Guardado? Obviously Seattle only does this if they are confident they can sign him long-term. Then go get Finley. That would help a lot.
  17. It may be a deal made so that the O's can put together a package of bullpen guys to trade for some starting pitching help. I'd love to have Julio, Groom or BJ Ryan in a Sox uni.
  18. The Republicans have their own Bill Clinton now. Perfect. Obama can start forwarding his mail to Washington..
  19. I hate that stupid argument. The country was also built on slavery, a lack of rights for women, racism, attempted genocide(Indians), and quite a bit of debauchery. Any moron who thinks there was such a higher level of morality in the 1770's should get their heads out of 6th grade history books and wake the f*** up.
  20. If you're the seller, then you'll have to set up the village inspection, if it is required in your town. Call the building dept. of Plainfield to find out if it is needed. I think you can buy a standard R.E. contract at an Office Max, but I've never done it, so I'm not 100% sure. I changed my name about 3 weeks ago. I may change it again to the Ghost of Cliff Politte, because if he doesn't stop sucking, I may have to kill him. I'll PM you the lawyer info.
  21. I think the split depends on the office. With Remax, for example, I don't think the agents give any cut to the office, but they have to pay "rent" for their office every month. Residential real estate is pretty standard stuff. I know a good lawyer in Oak Forest, if you're looking.
  22. Actually, you'll need two inspections. One, by a private inspector, is requested by the buyer to look for things that aren't illegal, but may cause problems for the buyer down the road. This inspection is not a requirement. The second inspection is done by the town the house is in, is set up by the seller, and IS a requirement. The Village Inspector goes through looking for code violations like not having gfi outlets in bathrooms, or having flexible gas suppllies on your water heater. Anything the Village Inspector says is wrong MUST be fixed by the seller before the closing date. Or, you can make an arrangement with the buyer so they will fix the violations. I believe they get 60 days after the close to get them all fixed.
  23. That is called "James Baldwin Hat Syndrome." Dontrelle Willis has it, and so do a few others.
  24. Ive known a few who tried it, and ALL of them gave up and wound up listing it with an agent. Kap may know better than I, but I thought it was NOT OK to have the same attorney. The main problem with selling by owner is that to do it right, you spend as much on advertising as you would give to a realtor. You're not in the MLS system when you sell by owner, so you have to market the house extra hard to get people to find it. IMHO, I don't think it's worth it.
  25. domo arigato, Mr. Roboto?
