  1. To be fair, Rogaine only works on the hair on the crown of your head, it doesnt work on your forehead. And if you go off of it, it you hair will thin back up and continue to retreat. If mine got bad I would go right to the new transplants they have today.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 01:17 PM) MacDougall was available and he's lightyears better than either of those turds. Horacio has some of the worse stuff I've seen from a major league pitcher this season and Ehren is horrid. Right, McD should have pitched the 7th 8th and 9th innings......Thats his role.
  3. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 11:38 AM) Where'd you see this? Bucknuts
  4. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 12:32 PM) Don't get me wrong I like Ozzie as a manager because he's the boss and he runs the clubhouse, no personality is stronger. However, I would bring in MacDougal a million times before Horrible Ramirez. With all the s*** he gets he STILL has a 1.88 ERA and he proved he was a worthy pen guy over the other two bums yesterday I see in the box score. And if Thornton AND Liney AND Dotel were not available, then, s***, I guess we have no other options but that's just ridiculous when every game counts? Does their pussy hurt? What is the problem? BS. Those guys will have plenty of rest beginning on September 29th if they keep going in this direction. Does their pussy hurt? Really? we had a double header the DAY before this game, the Twins were losing, most of our top relievers werent available. It happens, another game off the magic number.
  5. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 10:26 AM) exactly, and his error totals for the time he played this year are not going to help either Nothing should really help him. Bad injury, bad rehab, short comeback, bad agent.
  6. QUOTE (almagest @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 10:09 AM) Wikipedia on Mitochondrial Diseases Any sort of disease that affects the "generators" of your cells = bad. Baldelli probably doesn't have much baseball left in him, unfortunately. He certainly doesnt. Its a nice comeback story for this year, but the kid wont be long for the majors.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 08:41 AM) I'm so on board with that it's ridiculous. I have been a proponent of acquiring Baldelli for some time, and though that disorder really hurt him for awhile, he's come back strong and seems to have put that in the rearview mirror, hitting .281 with a .349 OBP. He'd be an excellent 4th OF to get about 400 at bats and backup all OF positions (and if he really impresses possibly supplant Swish). Baldelli cant really play the field very often and is really best suited as a DH, he also cannot play on consecutive days due to his disease. So basically you have a platoon DH with possible sporatic every several days OF duty. Pretty crappy player to acquire really.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 09:38 AM) In all seriousness what are his options? He can't bring in Jenks in the 7th, and Thornton is the only other psuedo-dependable guy out there. I have said it before, and I will say it again. If none of these guys step up, we aren't winning anything anyway. He HAS to try to find SOMEONE for the 6th and 7th innings. If no one emerges, this team is either going to lose out to the Twins or get beat in the first round anyway. Thorton wasnt available either, and I believe Dotel was out as well. Basically he had no other options, but I would just let the previous poster vent his frustration, no matter how incorrect his comments are.
  9. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 07:49 PM) note to ozzie Wasserman and Ramirez suck! Other than mop up duties, they shouldn't even come near the mound. Our pen ERA in September is over 6. Pathetic! We have a chance to gain ground and once again the bullpen wont let that happen. to be honest, I think he saw the twins were losing and decided to rest the main pen guys.
  10. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 02:11 PM) That right there is creepy. +1 Dead bodies freak me the f*** out. Once they are dead, its just a rotting piece of meat, the person you know is gone.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) We could go crazy and bring in Alex Smith, Kyle Boller and than have them compete with Hanie for the starting nod next season. Hell could even bring in good ole Joey Harrington. Homer alert: Maybe they'll release Troy Smith.....
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) Perfect. So the scenario I'm hoping for right now is for the Mets to win the division with the Phillies taking the WC. The Phils would be a nightmare matchup for them. The Cubs have better pitching than pretty much everyone, they dont really have any bad match ups.
  13. How the MLB gives the cubs home games instead of away games is beyond me. Hopefully the curse of the big league bites them in the ass in the postseason.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) I take it by the non-response you were just being arguementative? Huh? I was saying in theory.
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 01:29 PM) I'm fine with Orton playing for now for no other reason than the fact that the spinning of the QB carousel makes me physically ill... but that doesn't mean I have to like it. He is ok as a one, maybe two-year stopgap. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping Hanie turns out to be something (which does not absolve Angelo of the responsibility of looking for another QB, putting all eggs in one basket is the mistake he made with Rex) I think you'll see the coaching staff take a real look at some QB's in next years draft. And to be honest, why the f*** didnt we look at Culpepper? With a good running game and defense, you need an offense that can stretch the field with success, which Daunte has shown he can do.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 02:25 PM) Did I miss that offer? Wouldnt be the first thing you missed....
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 01:25 PM) My point is that the difference between them is nil, so it doesn't matter which one of them is "better." That's like saying it doesn't smell as bad when someone farts as opposed to when they take a dump.My farts generally dont smell. And for this team and what we are trying to do, Orton is a better fit because of his reads, height, and decision making ability. Rex is a mental midget who really sucks at ball control.
  18. Well, he cant hit in the majors, so might as well put him in a level where he can.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 01:12 PM) Ok, so if someone offers you two highly-touted prospect position players or a starting pitcher and position player that can help your team, who cares Bobby's dominant? Gag me, it's still only like 80 innings worth of ball. Closers are expendable. If we could get a Lincecum-type prospect for Bobby, you do it.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 09:32 AM) Please stop trying to make Orton out to be something he's not. We don't have any good quarterbacks on this roster, both of them suck but in different ways, and the net difference between the two is a wash. When it comes to strengths, Grossman definitely does what Orton can't, and vice versa, but that goes for weaknesses too. Orton is a career backup QB at this point barring any major improvement, and I wish this fanbase would be more honest about what he is. The fact is, we still should be looking for a new QB this offseason. By the way, as far as his line calls? He is the one who checked out of a run on that 3rd and 1 play in the 4th quarter. Apparently you didnt read my post. He's better than Rex, that just means he isnt football retarded. And pointing to one horribly called play doesnt prove that his line calls arent good. He was changing protection schemes throughout the game, and did it quite well. He checks down and makes decisions quickly. With a running game, thats all we really need, although it would be nice to have a QB that could stretch the field deep with touch.
  21. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 09:17 AM) Orton and Turner definitely had a 2nd half to forget LOL at the Bears fans calling in this morning. They are all ready to give the ball back to Grossman now. Like a windsock blowing in a hurricane Orton really has zero touch on his deep ball, and if he did the game would have been over. BUT, he is still better than Rex. Kyle checks down nicely, makes confident throws and line calls. He is a better QB.
  22. QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 07:47 AM) Around my family there is usually laughing and crying, and it is never quiet. THere are a lot of variations. My will calls for hiring a comedian for mine. I've been to a few irish wakes that are a bit more lively, just remembering stories of the past.
  23. nope, they are just creepy IMO. I want my "memorial" to be more of a remembrance of good times and have a celebration feel. I hate the deafening quiet of wakes.
