KW, win or lose, we need to rebuild for 2010/11

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 08:54 AM) It wasn't specifically about JUST this season. I think there would be a split opinion on who would have the best numbers from 2009-2001, D. Young or Carlos Quentin. A ton of scouts LOVE Young, still. Just like they once loved Gavin Floyd. Scouts also LOVE Quentin as well. D Young minor league stats- .318 .362 .518 .880 (of course he was only in the minors till the age of 20) C Quentin minor league stats .313 .413 .527 .940 -
Im in the West Loop and couldnt be happier. Close to 2 major highways, lots of stuff around or being built around me, easy parking, older crowd.

QUOTE (ScottPodRulez22 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 12:33 AM) Sylar can look at things and know how they work(with the clocks), so he looked at her brain and was able to see how her power worked. I still don't know how he got his brain to do it though. Claire was awake because she cannot feel pain now. It looked like she passed out at the end though until she healed her head back on after Sylar put it there. What we learned is Sylar does not take the power he copies it. The others just died because they could not heal themselves and would bleed to death. Ah gotcha, so he can just teach his brain to recreate the other's powers. Thats crazy.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) I'm all about yelling at the TV and cussing bad plays, etc. but I have never been a fan of booing and you will never see me do so at a game. I may show disappointment, but I think booing is simply classless at any level. I know many here won't agree with me, but I can live with that. I just dont think booing is that big of a deal at all. Shoot, people boo the idiots who do the dugout dance thing at the Cell in between innings, halftime shooters at blackhawks games, and I've even heard the kid hitting the tee-ball booed at Sox games. I just dont think booing is that harmful or big of deal at all. -
There wasnt that many people at the game, that place was half empty.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 06:01 AM) He had nothing on the ball, and anyone can see this. He hasn't had much on the ball since June. He had a little streach last month and little bit into September, but otherwise, he hasn't had anything on the ball. Are you going to tell me he was choking during big games in June? I agree with the aspect that Javy isn't a big game pitcher, but I am telling you, there's something wrong with his arm. He was popping his fastball from 92-96. He had plenty on the ball. Of course that was in the first inning when he actually threw a couple of good fastballs.

HAHAHA, "slight edge in LF" Whatcha smokin? Quentin is arguably the best player in the division right now. -
QUOTE (Bhay99 @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 09:34 PM) eh....the twins obviously have better scouts and know how to draft and develop for the ballpark they play in....let's see how much of an advantage they have in 2010. well that drafting isnt going to help them much longer because they are building a new outside/grass ballpark.

We will be in second place and done when this series is over if Ozzie continues to put lineups together like he did today.

QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 08:46 PM) LOL. Ozzie deserves it just as much as his players. Yes he does, he did not put a lineup on the field designed to win this ballgame. -

For those with Tivo, check out Javy's great first inning. Fastball, fastball, fastball, fastball, fastball. Now look at him now. -

Ova. Javy-If we made the playoffs, you would be left out of the rotation based solely on your testicles. -

Heres the book on Kubel if someone wants to send it to the Sox: He likes the ball inner half, can slow down his swing to hit breaking balls hard. Doesnt hit hard low or away. -

Griff in CF, nice call Ozzie. And hawk WTF are you talking about? Kubel is the same age as Alexei and isnt half the player, yet he will be a monster -

I love when our gameplan is hack away. I heard Paulie even say it in the World Series. -

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 07:53 PM) Our team has no concept on fundamentals. Thats Ozzie's job, and why he was brought in. To bring a hard played, well played game. This type of sloppy baseball is beyond what we had when we had Valentin and company playing softball here in the early 00's under manuel's watch. He got crucified for bad fundamentals and bad execution and bad motivation. Honestly, I think those guys have stressed it in ST, but the players are just f***ing lazy when it comes to it. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 06:17 PM) How much more evidence does Ozzie need that AJP needs to be down in the lineup, and Wise moved to the #2 spot? Why the f*** does he keep putting him there? You have 3 hackers in a row, perfect for an opposing pitcher to get in a groove. Ozzie, WTF is your deal? -

RockRaines replied to knightni's topic in 2008 Season in Review
I am usually very supportive of Ozzie's decisions, but this lineup is absolute crap. AJ in the 2 hole is f***ing stupid, Griffey is worthless in this outfield. WTF, I thought we were trying to win this series. -
Ok, so I hope this isnt a spoiler, but I still didnt entirely get how Sylar takes the other heroes powers. And it was weird seeing Claire awake during it.

Heroes=Unreal. Wow

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 12:50 PM) I don't have much experience personally but I've read that PC's are much easier to upgrade. With a Mac, you have to find an Apple Store. I've also heard that if you have any software that only runs on Windows, you have install Windows on the Mac to run it. Even then, it doesn't run as well. I also think that people that are computer savvy has an easier time configuring, upgrading, and triaging PC's over Macs

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) Javy has been questioned before he came to the White Sox, however the facts are : 2006 White Sox win 90, Javy below .500 2007 White Sox lose 90, Javy 15-8 2008 White Sox contending all year should win 90+, Javy below .500 Bad month in NY? July ERA 6.61, August ERA 7.44. September ERA 6.29. He was so brutal the second half of his season with the Yankees and then in the playoffs, he was sent packing and the Yankees thought he was injured. So, for 2 years he's played with good teams in Chicago, his winning pct. is below that of his career. He played for a good team in NY and didn't get the job done. Maybe he can change some minds tonight, because pitchers making 8 figures a year should do well in big situations, not just when your playing out the string. +1 If it was a small sample size it would be one thing, but the guy with "Ace Stuff" has shown throughout his career that he should be on the Pirates instead of a contender. I want him to be #4 in our rotation if we make the playoffs.
