  1. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 12:04 PM) good idea Madden is one of the few games I've ever seen have a one-star review status on amazon. People simply hate not having the franchise mode.
  2. Like I said in the beginning of this thread, we had "people" hearing things including a phantom quote from a reporter. Nobody worth a damn nor any media outlet picked it up as news from a source including the ones we have on this site. That should of been a red flag to everyone.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) Please watch it Badger. I want to see your review because it's going to be the only one that doesn't proclaim it the best speech since Kennedy. Oh there will be comparisons to the greatest speeches of all time. This one will be right up there. The word "trust" will be in it a lot. I would think he'd have a catch phrase like "let me complete the deal!" but that might have some sexual innuendo so he probably can't go there. He'll come up with some good catch phrases. It can't be "change" however. We know that. It will only take a semi-competent speaker to look better than Romney did, you do understand that right? Obama's #1 quality is that he's a good speaker and people like him. It has nothing to do with media portrayal.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) ON page 5 of the thread at WSI. He posts there?
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) Now that we know Mark Gonzales heard the same thing, there has to be at least something to it. Remember, the SF beat writer apologized to Melky Cabrera for asking him about it in July. Then a month later, Cabrera was suspended. Where was the Mark Gonzales quote?
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 09:41 AM) I haven't seen it, but my assessment of the vaunted Julian Castro speech is that it didn't live up to the praise it received immediately afterwards. I like his story and I like the philosophical main point, but I was no big fan of the delivery. I was rather upset I spent the time to go watch it after the fact...which makes me unsure whether I'll check out Michelle's speech. I thought it was awesome and the delivery was great. I didnt like his tone all together but he definitely looks like an up and comer and actually made a few nice points instead of just Believe in America.
  7. Does anyone REALLY think the score would sit on a rumor like this? Really?
  8. I love how another guy wants to shoot out some more theories by picking on another guy having a good year
  9. Julian Castro just killed it. What a speech.
  10. That's about how I thought Michigan would play. Lost alot from last years team that wasn't as good as its record. Denard is not a pocket passer, UM will be better when Morris gets there and has a year or two under his belt.
  11. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 06:22 PM) it is getting a bit old. He's been remarkably average for a long while now. Right? He's only been one of the best pitchers in the AL this season.
  12. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 12:58 PM) More rah rah BS. Most people in my area give 2 s***s about other conference teams. Me, I'm rooting for a 77-0 N.C. State win tonight. I have no problem seeing every SEC team out there going 0-12, if that were even possible. LOL thats awesome. I try to cheer for the conference in football but I find its not nearly as easy as it is in basketball.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 12:50 PM) Yeah, I don't have much hope now. Denard would have to absolutely go off. IMO it's all on how well Michigan's D filled some holes and if they become more proficient at Mattison's schemes. If you can stop the Tide's run game and make them one dimensional you may get some turnovers that could change the game.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 12:00 PM) LOL, and I'm sure someone led the Browns & Jaguars in TD receptions last year too. I don't have the stats in front of me, but I know he was way too high on the list of league leaders in drops, for how little he was on the field relatively. Ah I was half kidding, give me a break its my birthday.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 09:53 AM) Not expecting a Michigan win, but hope it is close and respectable. Fitz and clark suspended officially. I am trying, and I mean trying to root for the conference SEC-style like I should but all I that comes out of my mouth is Roll Tide
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) That is a tallest midget stat last season and you know it. He had 6 drops, that is not isolated, that is terrible for the little time he was on the field. Still works though. He was very consistent in college with his hands, I expect him to be a good bottom of the group WR with a chance to step in if there are injuries. Thats about his ceiling, but thats good enough for me being a huge fan of the kid. I particularly love him because he was surrounded by some complete douchebags who were raping the system at OSU for extra cash and he was never even closely involved.
  17. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) read the whole post, your answer is in it. by the way, i worked at one of the largest tech companies in the world for a number of years and currently work at another top corporation. also have a successful side business. i'm a big success like Mitt Romney! Not it's not. And to be like Mitt you would have to come from a ridiculous amount of money and then follow in your father's footsteps with help from rich buddies and the gov. Most likely you are better and more self sufficient man than that.
  18. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 11:35 AM) First, in my experience corporations do not pay based on education level. HUH? Corporations dont pay someone with a bachelors degree higher than someone with just a HS diploma? Last time I checked having an MBA usually gets you a jump as well. Where have you worked where this hasnt taken place?
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 11:32 AM) Last year he showed that he was very good at dropping the ball, so hopefully he worked on that. Yet still led the team in TD receptions. He was never a pass dropper in college so maybe it was a few isolated ones that we just noticed?
  20. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 11:18 AM) yes they should. there's a lot of people in Chicago that make less and work a lot harder than these teachers. these are the people that will be forced to pay for this extravagant increase. the economy sucks, there is no money. deal with it like everyone else has to. pulling down everyone else to give a certain group more is not the way to fix this. If you really think that expense is extravagant I invite you to look at the city's budget. The city is a corporation that we all pay to be a part of, they should pay their employees fair wages based on their education level and workload regardless of where the money comes from. The salaries of teachers are the least of my worries as a tax payer in Chicago. We could find enough budget for this increase if we cut off the disability pay of chicago cops that have second higher paying jobs for god sakes.
  21. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 11:10 AM) Clutts and Armando Allen looked great. Don't see the sense in cutting them. And Okoye is dealing with knee injury. Don't see the sense in bringing him back, and McCown looked better in one game than Jason Campbell looked in all 3. Yeah, I said it. Oh you mean Jason "check down" Campbell? McCown isnt even in football shape which is why I think they cut him.
  22. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) Ok, maybe it was 30% (and they can still f*** off). I also believe Chicago has one of the shortest school days right now. so it is an increase on that. http://www.npr.org/2012/04/23/151047543/ch...es-want-details It's an ask as part of a negotiation. Second, the amount of money those teachers have to pay out of pocket just to get basic materials for their students is HUGE. CPS doesnt even have working computers in many of the schools, do you realize how ridiculous that is? I dont envy CPS teachers because of the bulls*** they have to put up with from not only their kids but the horribly crooked government that screws them every chance they get.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) Agreed about Ian. He acts like he never should be crossed or anything. Wish he would spend a week on the block. f***ing dumb ass Shane let him have HOH, so stupid. There is a good chance Shane gets backdoored this week if Dan or Frank dont go home.
  24. This will be run in the local paper game day as a paid advertisement http://www.emf.intherough.net/Board%20of%2...es%20letter.pdf I mean, come on idiots.
