  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 01:46 AM) Wouldn't Fabio Castro be interesting right about now? can someone help me....did we completley lose the rights to castro? if he doesnt make the big league roster i believe he must return to the white sox, correct? or did we do one of those weird loopholes where we actually make a transaction and completely give him up? anyone know? EDIT: NVM i found it, he was selected by the royals who then traded him to the rangers, which means he cannot be returned to the white sox, i believe
  2. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) HA! HA! HA! Everytime Wood pokes his head out of the dugout anytime, anywhere, the crowd should be chanting. "OVERRATED, OVERRATED, OVERRATED," I am so sick of hearing about this guy's potential. He is the Camaro I had in high school. The three times it actually ran properly, it was awesome, but it was constantly in repairs. Finally, I had to call Victory Auto Wreckers and I was never happier than when that pile of bolts was towed off my driveway. haha yeah, when the cubs were playin the sox at the cell last year i was all over him during BP. He had just finally rejoined the team and was shaggin fly balls, and i asked him "shouldnt you be shagging simulated batting practice" ....he just pointed me and went about his business....seriuosly this guys a joke
  3. better start gettin those 06 rings fitted...
  4. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 05:09 PM) what for exactly? my best guess is insurance if they trade one of the starters....if they trade one, and then one gets injured, theres 0 depth.....
  5. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) Its nice to actually listen to a Sox game and not be close to having a heartattack, as i was during the world series and playoffs. I already miss Rooney. singletons got a nice voice, he soudns a little stiff, im sure hes just gettin used to it
  6. "It is the world champion white sox vs. the colorado rockies"....i love it
  7. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Just re-upped for Gameday Audio for the year. Interested to hear how Singleton does. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. same here, and dont forget...this is the first time the guy has done it
  8. QUOTE(hi8is @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) i just signed up for MLB TV and i cant figure out where to go to get a link to the MLB TV feed for the game.... lame lame lame... any help please? im pretty positive its not on mlbtv.....it is on mlb audio or whatever, so you can listen to it
  9. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) Thome career stats at US Cellular: .286, 210 AB's, .382 OBP, .982 OPS, 50 HRs. /drool that has to be a misprint.......50 HR in 210 ABs ?!?!?!? that would mean if he hit .286 that only 10 of his 60 hits were non homers
  10. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) vazques looks like an f-ing badass
  11. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) I'm shocked that Bonds would even do something like that. must be the estrogen produced as a byproduct of all those steroids
  12. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) BTW, that was a very good magazine all together. They have the "100 names you need to know in 2006" for baseball, just a rundown of alot of prospects and such. Good magazine. id be interested to see what those names are as well

    QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) This is funnier.. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/rowdyclassroom.html neither were that funny
  14. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) Even if he's totally healthy and plays close to 162 games (he's only played over 150 once in the past 8 years), I don't think he gets it this year. The 3 years after hitting 73 he put up 46, 45, and 45 homers. That's about tops for what he will get this year. People just aren't going to pitch to him, assuming he's his old self. If he's a little off or has some nagging injury the puts him on the DL for a while (which seems fairly likely), he's down to the 35-40 range, which seems fairly realistic. I find it hard to believe he'd retire without the record. However, I just don't think he does it this year. agreed....even with a full healthy year, bonds needs 48 homers to do it this year...outside of 73 he hit in '01, hes only ever hit 48 once (he hit 49). So essentially barry needs arguably his second best year ever at age 42 coming off injury, with tougher steroid testing....i just dont see it happening...not this year at least...its very feasible that he will hit 25 this year and 25 next year and break it though
  15. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:08 PM) An incredible hitter who PROBABLY could've done most of what he's done without "chemical enhancement". Sadly, we'll never know. He's also an incredible douche. THAT he accomplished all on his own. i disagree....hes an incredible hitter, and a hall of famer without roids probably, but 73 and 700 wouldnt happen without em

    QUOTE(wilmot825 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 12:31 PM) I actually agree with the Brewers finishing 1st not me, not quite yet...i still need to see hardy weeks and fielder longer in the bigs, but if they develop this year and all have strong years and their pitching stays healthy they have as good a shot as anyone
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 09:18 AM) Average 37,038... Are you on crack? oh come on its not that many..... more like 37,037.04
  18. levine? yeah and im jerry cougar mellancamp
  19. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) Ooo, an all-sarcasm thread...how fun! I really can't wait for the next Dayn Perry column. His points of Scott Podsednik being overrated and that we overpaid for Paul Konerko really haven't registered in my brain yet. Maybe one more article would do the trick. I love Dayn Perry! these readings are off the charts! ohhh a sarcasm detector...now theres a useful invention http://uloc.nerdtank.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?S...arcasm_Detector
  20. QUOTE(AirScott @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) this really isn't a big deal. Pods has a green light to steal whenever he so chooses, and any signs will come from the bench. as long as Baines manages not to fall asleep on his feet so he can yell "BACK!" on pick-off attempts, the only difference we'll notice will be watching Raines run to first to beat out the throw before every inning (which I enjoyed, by the way). this move is sooo stupid...its the first day of spring training and we already blew the season
  21. i know harold said he wanted to be more involved than just the bench coach. If i remember correctly they were talking about making him the OF coach or something as well. ill bet this has to due with bainsey wanting to have a more active role on the team
  22. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 10:43 AM) Mark McGwire power, Jose Hernandez contact. the same can be said for dunn
  23. i feel bad for joe, ive always liked him as an individual. I think he can contribute somewhere. believe me if tony womack is on a roster theres no reason joe borchard shouldnt be. You mean to tell me some team couldnt use a guy to hit .240 with 25 homers? isnt that basically what we get from crede? i think joe can be productive in this league still
  24. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 04:43 PM) seriously, what is everyone's gripe with Anderson?? He's gonna be fine. It seems like everyone has jumped aboard the Owens wagon the second we traded Young. I expect Anderson to be controlling the outfield for years to come. i have 0 gripe with anderson, and i think hell be a good player. I think others are probably down on him because he doesnt do anything great (with exception of throwing). He wont hit for a great average, wont hit 35 bombs, prolly wont steal 25. The thing about him is though is that all his tools are major league calibur. Should hit .280 with 20 and 15 SBs. Edit: i am unsure about the speed numbers. I know he really didnt steal at all last year at AAA, but i know kenny has said he could steal 15. anyone get to see him with any regularity that can comment on his speed potential
  25. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) Probably my biggest complaint with the White Sox organization is that they serve Pepsi products at the stadium. Miller is better than Budweiser... but I don't always booze it up at the games. They switch to Coca-cola also, I'll be a happy man Also, gimme three more cashews in those cashew raisins... ill mention it to ervin schwimmer
