  1. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) Garland was much more conveted than BMAC. And its my opinion, but im not too impressed with BMAC's mechanics and the movement on his fastball. be honest, how much do you know about bmacs mechanics?
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) I've never looked at those chat things, but are these "insiders" really so dumb that they don't know the difference between there and their? im quite certain that they have someone that types for them. i dont think they type out there own answers
  3. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun. Yeah, his shenanigans are cruel and tragic. Which wouldn't make them shenanigans, at all, really. Evil shenanigans! "im gonna pistol whip the next person who says shenanigans"
  4. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) He and Boston Gammons have about the same accuracy rate. I still remember when he announced something as an ESPN 1000 exclusive that was on rotoworld and was discussed here for the previous 2 weeks. He is about as accurate as carpet bombing. teh carpet bombing thing is gettin a little old
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) If the Sox were to acquire these 3 guys, say good-bye to about 3 of your favorite Sox prospects. The Blue Jays would have no use for someone like Crede. I could see them wanting Contreras for next season, where they're going to be spending more money. In order to get the 3 Blue Jays who are most likely to be traded, we're talking about having to give up 2/3 of McCarthy, Anderson, and/or Sweeney. if the sox wouldnt deal contreras in this deal, i would not at all be surprised if contreras + lilly for schmidt and vizquel or burnett +mota
  6. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) It depends on what they get in return. billy sample runs the radio thing on mlb.com radio....his stuff is usually pretty good, i cant say where that chat came from, but he usually doenst pull crap from his ass on the radio
  7. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) I don't call 'em the Red Cubs for nothing...... ive been sayin it the past few days, there is nothign i hate more than cubs fans, but red sox fans are looking like they will pass them up pretty soon
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 09:19 AM) It was done and has been deleted. ah thanks for clearin that up
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) North is doing a number on Ozzie resting the starters so much. Jeter, Ramirez, Ortiz play a lot more games. north, is there a bigger jag in town than this guy? hes brutal and he is getting annihilated in ratings to mike and mike. that guy is clueless
  10. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) I gotta agree with you on everything. I feel the same way. It seems like everytime, especially lately, konerko has a runer on and he chops it to the third baseman for the out. There were also some infield hits, in particular in the Detroit series that any normal baserunner would beat out but of course this guy is always in slo-mo. We cannot count on him in the clutch. We wont trade him but I hope KW doesnt give him a contract after the season. As for Uribe, i dont know what we can do but we gotta do something. He cannot hit anything unless it is straight in the middle of the plate. Schmidt's price is ridiculous. On ESPNNEWS they said the Giants were asking Garland, everyday lineup guy, and one of the top prospects. I still think we should get Odalis Perez. OR it doesnt need to be a top-of-the-line pitcher either. I was listening to the Sox Post on AM1000 and this guy made allota sense. We gotta make sure El Duque is there in September and into the playoffs. With that said he mentioned Gil Meche and Mark Redman. This guy was using his head. With Uribe and Harris, I hope we see the end of them in chicago. KW should get a proven UTIL guy. I dont know who is available but Graff woulda looked nice in Chicago again. word was that the giants asked for a guy like garland, got laughed at, and lowered the asking price. someone posted something about the sox being reluctant to deal bmac for schmidt, but the word is that the deal would center around contreras and bmac for it to happen. at least thats what i had been reading. odalis is a damn good option. hes a legit pitcher, is young, and isnt making obscene money, considerign deals like milton. guys like meche and redman would only be acquired to then be dealt to either Fla or SF along with contreras instead of bmac. thats why the sox nearly landed zack day.
  11. i think one or the other of those deals is entirely possible. the schmidt/vizquel deal makes absolutely perfect sense to me. griffey is a stretch, but man id love to see it. i agree with you on konerko. really his average is what, a few points higher than credes with 9 more homers. those 9 homers are nice, and he had a knack for driving in runs early, but that has seemed to fade some. really, lyle overbay should be considered this offseason. that guys legit. at any rate, schmidt is my top priority, and if they can get vizquel also, im all for it.
  12. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) I remember that great game Garland had against the sawks in Boston (two years ago?) He allowed two hits and when Manuel came out to get him in the 8th the crowd in Boston gave him a standing ovation. Awesome. I bet he remembers it. i think that had to be 3 years ago. i remember what you were talkin about. i believe he was perfect thru 6 perhaps
  13. seriously everyone needs to just settle the f*** down about last night. yes last night sucked because we blew it. our defense usually takes away runs and last night rowand, iguchi and crede all made poor plays that cost us runs. ironically those are 3 guys who have been solid on D all year. that won't happen again. i think we need to realize that some of the runs scored last night by boston, came off of fluky plays that wont happen again tonight....ie the check swing that stayed inside the line, the bloop just over credes head, rowand not catching the ball in the center....i realize its frustrating when we beat ourselves. but the fact of the matter is that we just faced teh defending world champs, faced their best starter, their best reliever, and then curt schilling, and beat ourselves, and still only lost by 1....not to mention we didnt have the teams best player since the end of april (dye) and a guy who gets on base 4 outa 10 times. I aint worried cuz we lost last night. what worries me more is how we played vs. detroit, especially the lack of O off of robertson and bonderman.
  14. QUOTE(hi8is @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) i really really want kenny to get perez, he will be somewhat costly because of the demand for SP in the trade market, not to mention that he is reasonably signed for 3 years i still think we will put together the best package and get em, KW will be all over this. if KW is gonna get perez, the key to the deal is to get him before teh other teams nab burnett. once burnett goes, say to the bosox, the orioles rangers yankees etc are all gonna shift their attention to other players such as perez, and feeling the pressure a team like the Os will certainly overpay to get him. if KW doenst intend to land burnett, hes gotta nab who he does wanna get quickly before other teams enter teh bidding
  15. QUOTE(bulokis @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Im all for getting Furcal in here. I like Uribe and he is one of my fave player but he has done nothing so far to deserve his contract. Last year, Uribe got on base no matter how bad his swings are. This year, he just swings on almost every pitch. yeah, i know uribe is young and all, but last year in relation to his career stats was really an anomoly. i thought maybe he was just breakign out but looking at this year, his stats are pitiful. i realize he is a premier defensive SS, but so is furcal. i would love for the sox to real in furcal, but i can't imagine atlanta selling him cheap. i would think that they would be asking for major league players, but maybe not. i know furcal is also seeking jimmy rollins type money in the offseason, which was a pretty insane contract. vizquel or lugo are probably the better options right now, cuz they will only cost prospects probably.
  16. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 06:33 AM) Little piece here from the Southtown; lol i read a funny article sayin chuck lamarr has no idea how to trade. supposedly the drays are asking for two top prospects for baez. im talkin top prospects too for example anderson and bmac
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 06:45 AM) I read somewhere where KW was told the same thing. If he could get them Burnett, they would give him Wagner. I'd much prefer Wagner to Burnett. Its truly questionable whether Burnett is an upgrade over the Count. i think i would prefer wagner to burnett too. the way i look at it, in the playoffs your #4 starter will help you win only one game the whole series. adding wagner to the back end of teh bullpen will push everyone back in the bullpen which will help in winning each and every game. i could be wrong because burnett could be more than a #4 in our staff, but we'll see. i am certain something will be done. who it will be remains uncertain
  18. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:57 AM) Guys, don't post word for word copies of premium articles from other pages. Summation, thats another thing, but copy and paste is a bad idea. who copied and pasted? or asked for a copy and paste?
  19. QUOTE(bigred3535 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) Does someone with Insider want to summarize what Olney wrote in his article about the top 10 teams looking to deal, specifically in regards to the Sox? it doenst say much of anything good...just sayin KW will need some help, and he might want power pitchers, and will probably look to get burnett or wagner....says its chisox best year to contend and going 1 and done in the playoffs would be a huge disappointment, so they need to make a move to ensure that dont happen.....thats about it, just speculation, nothin concrete on any rumors unfortunately
  20. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) A big nasty spider. http://ohoh.essortment.com/mostpoisonouss_rotk.htm uff...that sounds fun

    Gload?

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) KW was just on AM1000 and mentioned nothing. Either the guy at WSI is full of it or there is something else to the story. Trade ? Maybe its to get him here in the event Dye needs to be DL'd? I wonder where the infection is? It looks like Frank was scheduled to have today off anyway. KW might not have known the details entirely, so maybe he wanted to wait to announce anything
  22. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) depending on which bug that bit him. Some bites can leave a very bad infection and his leg could be very swollen so it might be a week before he comes back yeah true, but i still dont think hed be DLed cuz of it. i could be wrong tho. i mean its not like this guy was in the heart of africa or south america or something. whats the worst he coulda gotten bitten by???
