  1. The White Sox will benefit from the expanded 40-man roster. In all likelihood, he is probably not pitching there if they had one more arm in the bullpen. Jose Urquidy pitched a very clutch game against the Cubs. However, He can't really be counted on as a trusted pitcher to give you innings.
  2. I think the issue is that general managers don't want to trade real prospects anymore without getting back premium, controllable talent. You have the lockout situation and the uncertainty of the new CBA that play a part as well. We would all be up in arms if somebody like Bonemer was sent out for Deitmers. The other thing is the third wild card: although bring more teams into the fold, it definitely makes it a sellers' market. If there were two wild cards, you may have teams like the Twins, Mariners, Rangers, Reds, and Pirates more willing to sell. However, It's hard to trade your average players for average prospects if you feel there is a chance. So what you have is a bunch of "maybe he will better for you trades".
  3. I watch Hagen Smith and think this guy is going to be dominant in the pen. However, he doesn't look like a starter. I think some of his effectiveness is his arm angle.
  4. Jesus- Grant Holmes has a horseshoe up his ass.
  5. Kay has thrown some heat today. I did not know he had that in his bag.
  6. I think we are getting a little unlucky here. I have seen the last two innings, and every ball has been hit hard.
  7. He needs that Luis Castillo change up.
  8. I worry at Montgomerys swing path on both sides. It’s so flat.
  9. Good news- he just went through the teeth. We are going to need three innings from him. I don’t give a s%*# how he gets it done.
  10. Tomorrow is a new day boys. The pen has over performed and clearly he was trying to save some arms today. These moments are good for a young team to experience. My only concern is with our current rotation of 3 starters how do do we get through the next 20 days. We really need Smith or Thorpe to become a thing down the stretch.
  11. This is an interesting move. Yes, you have the righty-righty matchup for Meidroth, but if he gets on you could be in trouble with Mune.
  12. Awesome- we held serve. He's not horrible for being the last guy out of the bullpen. Given whats coming the next two days, I wonder if they give him another inning. If not, its probably Richards.
  13. The difference between Pete Crow last year to this year- he didn't offer at any of those.
  14. I dont think 4 will win this game. Lets go boys!
  15. I don't know about you fellas but sometimes I wonder: if I worked a s%*# job and just went to minor league parks to watch baseball, how fun would it have been for me? At 40, Life kinda gets in the way. But maybe in retirement. I would love to be the person on the ground finding out these tidbits. Baseball is such a humbling game. Look at Vlad Jr, brings team to the World Series. Consistently a top-level bat, then he has this kind of year, or Cal Raleigh, or even Freddy Peralta. These guys who had track records of being consistently good and, for some reason, have just horrific years. Unlike, say, basketball or even football, baseball is always about constant adjustments throughout a career no matter how good you are. Hopefully, with a little humble pie he can turn it around. I still have hope. I always prefer the guys who can be dominant, who have control issues, than somebody who just has a low floor who can throw strikes. It's the reason I prefer David Sandlin to somebody like Drew Thorpe.
  16. Bull-Pen. It’s been the backbone to our success.

I always think its becasue its the first time these guys are hitting with wood bats primarily.
  18. oh my god. We got Jose Urquidy for the post season. Great....
  19. Yeah sometimes its not about "guts" or " want to" or " focus". Its hes just not a major league player.
  20. I hope im wrong but couldn't agree more. Like, give me Shane Smith or Thorpe instead.
  21. I thought Newcomb was going 9. Surprised about the quick hook.
  22. I don't think I've ever seen a pitcher have a season like Christian Oppor. The fact that the White Sox still trot him out there instead of just shutting him down is amazing.
  23. It’s not like this was not plan. Clearly they have been preparing for this move for the past month. These boys are not going to be in high leverage situations at least right away. They are replacing dudes like Murphy who have not got any guys out in the last month. Our high leverage boys have been great all year.
