  1. Well many posters seem to agree that it's a bad rule and renteria is an idiot for having the rule. Maybe the players agree as well as they don't seem to want to run to first base. I guess just us old oeople follow rukes placed upon us.
  2. Well, inflammation means there is an injury of some kind. Just depends on the severity.
  3. This is dependant on him liking the organization. Would he still want to do this if they keep him down just to keep control for extra year.
  4. I think the Dodgers needed to do that for salary penalty reasons.
  5. I disagree. I think he would be justified in holding it against them. Now, if you are approaching from the angle that the Sox don't plan on resigning him as a free agent then you're correct in keeping him in the minors as long as possible. In fact keep him down until 2020 when they may start to be competitive.
  6. You don't know that. Players are just like anyone else. If your company purposefully did something to make sure you didn't earn your rightful money, how would you feel. The Sox have every right to keep him down to gain the extra year. Just has he has every right to see this for what it is and be pissed about it and hold it against them when the FA negotiations start.
  7. It'll be even better when Jimenez goes into the HOF with an Angels hat because he refused to sign a contract with the Sox as soon as he reaches free agency. Save one year of control to lose his services for a decade.
  8. I think your plan would be a good deal for both sides. As you said he gives up a little money for guaranteed generational wealth and more money early. It's kind of like a 10 million dollar insurance policy against a catastrophic injury early in his career.
  9. China has a slightly different government, cultural and legal structure.
  10. Is there anyway to determine the value if he proceeded on a normal path? I know the arbitration can't be calculated exactly but based on current Kris Bryant path of arbitration it would be interesting to compare.
  11. Then the posters really don't know what they are talking about. He may be stubborn, opinionated and have his own views on players but the last thing he is would be stupid.
  12. Gives up a lot of hits though. Looks like is is in the zone too much. 57 hits in 45 IP.
  13. The problem is when they start it. I could be wrong but my understanding is that it doesnt start until they enter the union which is not until they reach the MLB. If they come in using PED then they will never test positive.
  14. Because every industrialized country does not have the population that the US does. There are just too many people for a nationalized health care system to make economic sense.
  15. Why did the braves want him? He doesn't really look like anything special.
  16. But KW didn't want him so he won't get the chance.
  17. Why? He is out performing many of the more highly touted prospects.
  18. Yes. Anytime any organization has complete power, it will not go well. There has to be other options especially in the practice of medicine. Insurance companies like to make grand assumptions about any diagnosis ie. number of visits, type of treatment covered. Imagine if there was only one rule for all of this.
  19. No doubt. Edit: After reading your answer to what this means, I will change the response slightly. To me it means It is an awesome series because only half are even in the discussion.
  20. I'll go with Phantom Menace in this category.
  21. In baseball they do blood testing but not the baseline testing. They still look for certain substances but do it through blood testing not urine samples. In the Olympic format they don't necessarily test for specific substances they just check on how the current blood sample compares to the baseline for that individual.
