Dunn not the only candidate for Comeback Player of the Year?

In my opinion there are way too many personal attacks on Soxtalk. Attack the statement or opinion, not the person. -
Dunn not the only candidate for Comeback Player of the Year?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:17 AM) Don't forget Beckham, too. Everything has a way of evening out. Opposing pitchers will make adjustments to Cespedes, too. He's not going to hit 120 homers, at least it's unlikely with the lack of protection currently available in the A's line-up. Beckham can't win it. You have to have been there to 'come back'. Beckham had a couple of good months his rookie year, that's it. -
Dunn not the only candidate for Comeback Player of the Year?

Best case scenario is that Dunn, Rios and Peavy are the top 3 in the vote, regardless of who wins it. -
Rios has 1 hit so far this year, but it was a damn good hit.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 05:14 PM) Right, there are already rules in place, so why the faux reaction? Williams went too far. But it's not some game-changing or earth-shattering secret that guys have always wanted to take other guys out. So long as it's within the rules and not cheap, illegal plays, it's just part of the sport IMO. I just don't see the justification for giving the guy the death penalty for something that's not that far removed from what everyone acknowledges is a league-wide practice. Right, the rules are in place. Williams, Payton and the Saints broke those rules. There is nothing 'faux' about the reaction. They broke the rules, got caught, were warned to stop, continued to ingnore the rules. It seems pretty simple to me.

Just sweeping away a few cobwebs, but I think the Pirates played LH Catcher named Dale Long. Also, I believe Gary Peters once played RF for the White Sox. -
Per CBS, Marshall is out today.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 09:28 AM) #1-Dwayne Wade #2-Michael Jordan The only way I'd agree with this is if you are comparing their sophomore years of high school.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Mar 18, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) I pay for my season tickets and Williams hired Wilder in 2003. Wilder was, at the time, a highly respected scout by baseball people and he had a solid history and reputation with the Brewers.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 17, 2012 -> 12:44 PM) Pretty good game between Syracuse and Kansas State. People are getting a good look at the physicality of K State, not sure if it'll be enough, though. Wildcats need to start hitting some threes. KState ran out of gas. 'Cuse had too much depth.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 17, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) MSU went to OT with a sixteen, not Duke The opposing team was also MSU. That would be Murray State.
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 09:35 PM) I'd have to go look it up, but just by memory, I believe Duke is also the team that got closest to losing as a 1 vs a 16. U of New Orleans took them to OT, I believe, back in the 80's. I know #16 seed Princeton lost to #1 Georgtown by one point one year. Couldn't tell you the year, but if memory serves, Ewing was on that G'town team.

What are your feelings on new tagline "Appreciate the Game"?
YASNY replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Tex @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 01:01 PM) Just like bad contracts cripple the team, loss of revenue from sales also hurts the team. If you believe dollars and cents = wins and loses and vice versa, you have to care. So yeah, I agree with you, why care. Eh ... I agree with Mike. It don't mean crap in the long run. -
I think Texas eventually got the message, after about the worst 12 minutes of basketball in tourney history.
-
Some info would be nice. Link even.
-
Somebody needs to tell Texas that the game has started.

Something to keep in mind in these domestic abuse accusations and cases. Quite often, a woman's word is all that is needed to get the arrest to take place. I have a friend who got into an argument with his now ex-wife in their front yard. She balled up her fist and hit him six times, the last of which busted his lip. He backhanded her once afterwards. Guess who went to jail that night?

I like the 'slogan' in that article better than appreciate the game. Win or start packing. It has a nice ring to it.
