  1. Two of our hits should have been routine fly outs.
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) good job, :headshake My sentiments, exactly.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) Um, just got here, so not to jinx it, but does Vazquez have a um going?? He's pitching very very well.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) I also don't like it when they stir s***... But I'm in a good mood so you run along and play by yourself today. I feel so blessed!
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) I would have said the same thing regardless. It's a peeve of mine when people get jumped on for having a different opinion. Imagine that.
  6. When it comes to Pods and steals, all I know is that when Pods was healthy, on base and stealing we won a helluva lot of ballgames last year. I want him healthy, on base and stealing again in '06.
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 07:24 AM) Hell, we just got Krispy Kreme down here a few months ago and it isn't even a full shop, they have kioska inside one of the big convienence store chains. I still take a breakfast taco over the donut. MMMMMMMM Donuts!
  8. Here's some comments on the Twins stadium issue. The link
  9. We all know the Marlins have been trying to get a new stadium built in South Florida. There has been plenty of opposition. Here a column that basically asks is the opposition is justified. He makes some very compelling points.
  10. I'm sorry, but if someone did this to my family I'd be over there kicking some serious ass ... jail or no jail. Period.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) Bonds's current trainer has reportedly been subpoenaed by this grand jury. More accurately, and pehaps even more noteworthy, is that this is the San Francisco Giants current trainer.
  12. One more positive test for him and .... He Gawn!
  13. Yes. Definitely keep us posted on this, please.
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 11:29 AM) Which is not the decisiveness the situation demands, at least in Kerry's eyes. I think the Dems are trying, after blaming the entire admnistration, to find a poster child and are attempting to make that Rummy. I can't see that getting much traction. I actually find him pleasant, even though I don't agree with him all the time. If they can't convince me he's evil personified, I don't think they will get the rest of America to. Not really concerned with how things look from Kerry's eyes. He lost.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 10:45 AM) Estimates run from something like $200-$250 billion, over about 5 years, to round all of them up and send them off. We could build a wall for that.
  16. I believe Bush has acted with decisiveness. He's decided to keep Rummy on board.
  17. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 11:01 AM) I love how every outfielder mentioned would start over Brian Anderson... Only in Jeckleland
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 10:32 AM) Matt Lawton is a lefty, I'm 100 percent sure of it. If I'm wrong, I promise I will never post again on soxtalk (I sense a lot of people are praying that Lawton is a switch-hitter now). I wonder if I can talk Lawton into batting righty just one time.
  19. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 09:02 AM) Probably not. We dont play on the East Coast #2 on the the top ten plays of the day. Number 1 was the fact that it was Jackie Robinson Day in MLB.
  20. Then again, ESPN says he's a lefty.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 08:52 AM) He's a lefty....and washed up. I could have sworn he was a switch hitter. As for washed up, we are talking about a reserve outfielder.
  22. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 08:48 AM) These are two very different countries, with two very different concerns. We happen to need these workers, they have millions of poor people without jobs. One country has excess workers and no jobs, the other has jobs and not enough workers. It would seem obvious that both countries would have different laws regarding immigration. And there are hypocrasies in laws everywhere. Mexico will trade with Cuba, but will not allow many Cubans to imigrate. The US will not trade with Cuba, but any Cuba who touches the beach, is allowed to stay. We accept everyone from a country we consider an enemy, but want to restrict those from a partner and ally. Does that make sense? Kap, you are correct, they are illegal. The issue is, how badly do we want to punish ourselves in the process of punishing them? Shall we invest billions in rounding them all up and deporting them? After all that is the current law. Let's enforce the law. Who cares what that does to out agriculture industries, we can always buy more food from overseas. Who cares how many businesses go under, after all these people are here illegally and that's the law. Of course, we both know that will not happen. So we start with the premise we will ignore the current law and figure out what to do with all these law breakers. Why should we punish ourselves and weaken our countries security by destroying our agriculture industry? So Kap you can't have it both ways, you must be in favor of rounding them up at any cost and deporting them because " ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL. " He's being a hypocrit. Does that make sense?
  23. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 06:49 AM) Cody Ross is going to be moved from the Dodgers; He hit .267/.348/.509 in AAA ball last season. He's only 25 so he's still relatively young. Another guy, I've long had an interest in, is Scott Hairston. He's never going to make it on the D-Backs. Currently they have Gonzo, Green, Byrnes and DaVanon as outfielders, with Upton, Young, Gonzales and Quentin in the minor leagues. He can play a little second base, but they've moved him to LF. He's not the greatest fielder out there, but he can hit. The Sox orignally drafted him in 99 as well. Hit .311/.384/.608 in AAA in 2005 and is hitting .318/.412/.545 so far for them this season. He's too good for AAA and deserves another chance in the majors somewhere. And the D-Backs aren't asking a lot for him. Matt Lawton is available from Seattle as well. I know he used roids, but he was the only to stand up and take his licks for doing so. He's a switch-hitter that can play all 3 OF positions and can probably be had for Ozuna. They want a RH hitting infielder. We need a RH hitter if the OF.
