QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 08:18 AM) And change the laws to allow people to be falling down drunk in bars. If there is a law that should not be enforced, get rid of it, don't tell police not to enforce it. There are times when enforcing that law, in a bar, is beneficial to all except the arrestee. For example, after a few drinks a guy goes to the bar to buy drinks for all at his table. There is a disagreement between the bartender and the customer as to whether the man gave the bartender two twenties or a twenty and a ten. The guy starts making a scene. The patrons in the immediate are are made uncomfortable as a result of this. Also, the bartender while dealing with this loudmouth, cannot properly to his job and take care of his other customers. The guy isn't falling down drunk, but has had a few. The cops are called and the man is taken out of the bar charged with PI. I saw this very type of thing happen this past Saturday night. ..... and my wrists still hurt.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) I understan\ that there are differences in the laws and I don't see how that should effect our laws. If Mexico changed their laws and said, we'll let everyone in, now you *have* to, we'd immediately reject that argument. Still, you have to admit that there is certain hipocrasy to Fox's stance our immigration policies as opposed to his own policies.

OMG! This is a disaster! :rolly

It's way too early to be having this discussion. Hell, I remember hearing about a rookie CF starting off his career with an 0-40 or some such horrendousness. You may have heard of him. His name was Willie Mays.

One missed step on the slippery tarp, an awkward landing on his left shoulder and the season is down the tubes. I'm glad they are shutting this down.

Hell ya! I'd be mucho pissed if this would have gone against the Sox, but I'll take it!

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) Punch my bag. That's no way to treat your girlfriend.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 06:27 AM) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Yes they do. And it highlights one of the genious portions of our Constitution. It would be a better argument to state why it would be bad public policy to do so. Thanks for expounding on my point. You summed it up nicely.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 09:13 AM) Hate crime legislation is a pretty odd thing because most violent crimes are derived out of hate. It is, as South Park put it, a "savage hypocricy". People should have the ability to use free speech to say what they want (if they think that the gays and the 5 Jewish bankers control the world money supply from the center of the Earth, etc.) but they have no right to codify their biases into legislation denying homosexuals from entering a contract (that is what marriage is in a purely legalistic sense, a contract given by the state) That's the point I was going after. They've got the right to TRY and 'codify' any type of legislation to choose to. The constitionality of any successfully passed legislation will be address by the USSC.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 07:55 AM) I noticed the Yankee thing too, both 1-4, now both 5-5. I guess we will split the season series with them. The trend was broken tonight, dammit.

QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 09:04 PM) One year wonders. They exist throughout baseball. For example, look at Adrian Beltre, or hell, Brady Anderson in 1996. That may be the case here with Garland, but I seriously doubt it.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 08:46 AM) It doesn't bother me. It's a little further off center, but not distracting for me. That's the key. It's further off center. It skews the viewpoint of the viewer when "calling balls and strikes" as compared to the 'normal' view.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:27 AM) They dont, they trade them before their become FA's and rebuild with prospects. This is the model you have to follow when you are small market. This new owner may have a different MO than the old ones.

QUOTE(shoota @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) Is anyone else still bothered by the pan-left camera angle that started in the middle of the 2005 season? IIRC, one Japanese advertiser wanted his billboad behind home plate fully shown, and Brooks Boyer bent over for him at the expense of us fans. This un-centered view is visually handicapping and distracts me from the game. Yes. It bothers me as well.

Frank jacked one tonight. I think that's career #450. Congrats to the Big Hurt.

Did Reed ever play for the Sox?

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:47 AM) hmm, I heard that Freels problems were more coke-related than alcohol related. Well, I guess this proves Freel would add to the team 'chemistry'. As I said, we don't win it all with Freel in place of Pods. It's not even worth discussing.

Well, there's 11 useless pages. Hawk ain't going anywhere.

I think Jenks was pitching with the situation in mind. He had a 3 run lead and Shelton couldn't tie the game, so he went after him. It happens.

If it's proven that these allegations are false, this 'victim' needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
