  1. Good idea. Edit: Dammit, this isn't PHT. Someone lock this thing.
  2. Since the start of the 2005 season, we now have a .750 winning pct against the tribe, but we are just lucky. Hmmmmm, ok.
  3. Actually, I believe the MN is 162.
  4. 17 out of our last 18 and still rolling!
  5. I think we just set a Filibuster record. 22 hours and 47 minutes between posts as the last one was at 10:25 a.m. yesterday. The time change calculates into this.
  6. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 10:01 AM) I think Big Mac Land is gone. The entire stadium is gone.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 10:05 AM) :puke :puke You guys focus on this too much. It means nothing.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 02:20 AM) Makes sense to me as well. It did drive me nuts in high school though, thankfully now I'm in college and it's not like you have to go to class in college or anything. It'll suck when you start working for a living.

    This or that

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 02:23 AM) Mays Rowand or Anderson? Anderson. Diamonds or Gold?
  10. QUOTE(joemg311 @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 02:05 AM) Cold at night early in the year??? That makes sense to me. Fans are more comfortable plus the players have less chance of pulling a hammy or muscle.

    This or that

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) The Damned Tex Avery or Walt Disney? Avery Mickey Mantle or Willie Mays?
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) Rumors, YASNY? This guy is putting things off as if they're fact, when, in all reality, they're highly questionable. Yeah, right, I'm sure Kenny expected smooth sailing with Hermanson in 2006, no problems at all. So let's examine the example you posted. He start off by saying that this what my source said. That, in itself, should tell you to take this with a grain of salt. It's hearsay. That's not 'putting things off as if they're fact'.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) Also, you guys may want to check out FutureSox. This article was written for FutureSox, but any FutureSox articles also appear on Soxtalk. However, FutureSox.com has been revamped and our top 25 should be out in a week. We have the seeding done and a good chunk of the writeups are done as well. Ya gotta link?
  14. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 12:49 AM) Well, I won't be looking at his power numbers. BA/OBP/SB is what I'll be looking for. Agreed. Owens power numbers are not of concern, unless he hits 10 and thinks he's the next Scott Podsednik. I hope he hits 2 and forgets about homers and concentrates on OBP.
  15. QUOTE(allupons @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) I am a little suprised by the desire to trade contreras on these boards. In my opinion, he has without a doubt the best raw stuff of anyone on our starting staff. His only limitation had been the head games he played in his mind, but Coop righted the ship last year and now he is utulizing his vast potential. He was our ace when it came down to the playoffs last year and I predict will remain our ace for quite some time. I personally expect Garland to be the odd man out at the end of the year when he doesnt live up to last years performance, and makes room for BMac in the rotation. Yes. Welcome to Soxtalk. I agree with your prediction, but that doesn't mean it's a given to work out that way. Which is why I said it's a gamble.
  16. Headline: Tejada, Blalock and Delucci involved in deal. Wouldn't that give people something to wake up to in the morning?
  17. I read about 3 pages of this thread and the only one that seems to have realistic grasp on things is JimH. The guy reports rumors folks ... RUMORS! The rumor of Lee for Murton, Hill and Guzman may have some basis. However, it may be Lee and somebody else for those 3 or Lee for two of the 3 or Lee for 2 of the 3 and and lesser prospect .... or ... they may be talking but end up not being able to come to an agreement. If that happens, then surprisingly, the trade never happens. Wow! What a concept. GM's discuss a deal, word leaks out but they GM's can't agree. So that means the rumor has been total bulls*** from the get go. Yeah right.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) Lets do it .... .... again!
  19. It was a gamble either way, career-wise.
  20. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) That was me. I worded it wrong. I meant to say we signed a guy that I believe will be a perrenial Cy Young canidate. That'll work.
  21. I just read 10+ pages of new posts in this thread, so bear with me a bit. First, I don't see anyway in hell KW trades BMac unless he's made an offer he can't refuse ... like Pujols or something ridiculous like that. I believe the plan with Brandon is to bring him along like they did with Buehrle and let him get his feet wet in the bullpen this year, then move him into the rotation in '07. Who he replaces in the rotation will be determined by what happens this year and what kind of offers are made. I'd be willing to bet that it won't be Buehrle that's moved. It will be one of the 4 RHP. Someone stated that Jose Contreras was a perrenial Cy Young candidate. Since when? I guess I like this signing due the flexibility it offers and elimination of questions about his contract status. But at the same time, while Contreras looks to have turned the corner, he's not been the model of consistancy over his career. When will his age (34?) and all those Cuban innings catch up with him. There are definite question marks here that makes this signing a gamble in every sense of the word.
  22. QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 08:52 AM) My daughter's fish died today. First time I had to console her over a dead pet. It was really sad. I feel so bad for her. Have a liitle funeral ceremony *FLUSH*
