Arizona proposing illegal immigrant crackdown.
YASNY replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in The Filibuster
Seems to me that a big ass wall would be a one time expense and the other options seem to be a perpetual expense. Build the wall. -
You know what? I'm tired of all this crap. These people are lawbreakers and need to be deported. Too many people have played by the rules, including the manager of the Chicago White Sox, and those people don't need to be insulted by a double standard. Send the illegals home ... use force if needed.

QUOTE(Texsox @ May 2, 2006 -> 08:11 AM) In a legal sense he didn't. So I guess you could believe he was not addicted, or just to perscription level amounts, never bought more than one Doctor would perscribed, attended rehab, and then accepted a fine, supervision, and all the other terms of the plea, because it would be best for everyone involved. Maybe Rush is the type of person that would accept all that instead of fighting baseless and untrue accusations to the finish. I sense otherwise. I choose to believe that was a negotiation point which helps Rush down the road and doesn't hurt society. If the goal of these laws are to protect the person from themselves, admitting guilt in the legal sense doesn't make a difference. Why do you have to try and put words in my mouth or tell me what I believe? This thread was presented like it was a new problem for Rush. I pointed out that it was a continuation of a what occoured over 2.5 years ago. I told what heard from the horses mouth. What is it about that which you have a problem with?
-
I heard Rush say, no ... emphasize, that there was no admission of guilt.
-
Regardless of how anyone tries to justify it, the booing of Jim Thome was classless.
-
This boycott is stupid s***. They come here to make money then try to negatively impact the nations economy. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
-
This is NOT a new problem for Rush. It's an offshoot of the doctor shopping thing from almost 3 years ago. This was negotiated and voluntary on Rush's part. He signed off the air on Friday, met his lawyer and went in to be booked. There is no jail time, no addmission of guilt, no probation. The drug test part is something that has been going on since his original arrest. If Rush keeps his nose clean for 18 months, the whole shebang is over.

QUOTE(CarlosMartinez @ May 1, 2006 -> 06:23 PM) I'm glad others caught that crap about Konerko being off to a slow start. That f***in guy should be shot. Wasn't it Brantley that ripped Ozzie last season for his handling of the pen? Where does ESPN come up with these tools to talk baseball? Brantley and 65% of Soxtalk.

Guys, I was talking about a lack of respect at the end of April 2005, and relating it to the Tigers not getting respect now.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 1, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) They were already in first place at this point First place at the end of April ... and no respect.
-
QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 1, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) That right there is the key to me. Nobody is giving the Tigers any respect because they've been down for so long. I'm not so sure they aren't deserving some respect. I seem to recall a team in 2005 that didn't get much respect, but had a pretty good year.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 1, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) Who must be feeling great right now since they are playing way over their heads and still are a game and a half out. Maybe they are playing over their heads, or maybe they've got a good mix of young but maturing ballplayers along with some solid veterans and proven manager.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 01:19 AM) In a few days... is this a joke... Thornton couldn't been abucted by aliens with the amount of time he was gone... Seriously I give Thornton props... he got us a big out when I think that all of us could agree that he can no business being out there at all... I mean a close game and he hasn't been seen in weeks... :headshake Who would you have put out there? Cotts? Didn't he pitch two innings the night before? You guys would have our starting 9 and Jenks, Cotts and BMac burned out by June 15th if Ozzie managed like you wanted him to.

QUOTE(Drew @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 02:59 AM) My sentiments exactly. Jim Thome is a full-time DH and not on the ballot. Why is Ortiz special? Putting Ortiz on the ballot was a decision made by the Red Sox. The White Sox could have put Thome on as a 1B, but that would have come at Paulie's expense.

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 07:04 AM) Awww, isn't that sweet, you missed me Watch, they will add a few more guys like this. There is a reason why there's only 35 on the 40 man. I bet your boy Rogowski gets moved in a trade too. Welcome back.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) Its really nice to see Charlotte doing well for once. Razor is one of those guys that takes no guff and gets the most out of his players. They seem to play fundementally out of him and he wins. I'd think someone would take a long hard look at him over the next couple years when it comes to offering him a major league job. You and Aboz were looking for interview ideas when Charlotte came to Louisville. I think Razor would make a great candidate.

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) I think a fan as defined by the word the term was derived from would only have one team that they like. That doesn't mean that every other team in the league is hated. There is such a thing as having no strong feeling about a team. I just can't imagine being a fan of any other team but the White Sox, and I can't understand how anyone can claim to be a fan of more than one team. Here's my situation, so maybe I can help you understand. First and foremost, I'm a Sox fan. Period. They will always be first in my heart above any other team in existance, including all other sports. Now, I happen to live in Cardinal territory. Therefore, there are a lot of people I work with, like, care about, etc that are Cards fans. When the Cards do well, these people are generally happy and more pleasant to be around. Therefore, I pull for the Cards. Also, my girlfriend and her family live in Dallas area and are Rangers fans. For the same reasoning as above, I pull for the Rangers. We've been to a few Sox/Rangers games at Ameriquest and I always go in Sox gear and openly root for the Sox, to the chagrin of those seated around me. This also applies to the Mavs and Stars, unless they are opposing the Chicago teams. However, I can't quite get myself to pull for the Cowboys. The point is, though, that I'm a Sox fan. I like the Cards, I like Rangers. It's easy to root for other teams for whatever reason. People each have there own reasons for choosing whatever secondary team to root for. However, that doesn't make them any less "fanatic" about the Sox.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) Haha awwwwwww...... an Aaron Rowand lovefest ALMOST broke out!! The sooner people realize he's an average player the better. Anderson's ceiling is about 20 stories higher than Rowand's, and I'm willing to deal with watching him be a bit inconsistent in his on the job training at the plate while the rest of our team covers up for him in the lineup and he keeps playing great defense. But I will say this....people are waking up about Rowand, a good start. All I can say about Rowand is that he is a good enough ballplayer to be the starting centerfielder for a World Series Championship caliber team.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 05:09 PM) So we are getting Tejada and Bedard then! Nope. Corey Patterson.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 11:34 PM) What are you sick of? World Series chamionships, apparently.

You guys slay me with all this "Ozzie's fault" crap. :headshake

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) OK, so he's a racist for mocking Bush, feel better? Oh the horrors, the horrors Mocking Presidents for over 200 years. I love this country BTW, I think it is in poor taste to do it in front of a family member. But thank God we can mock our Presidents. The racist angle is not the one I was getting at. The double standard is what I was pointing out. But ... I'll give you your point about mocking presidents.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 11:49 AM) There's plenty of relevant people on the left. Just nobody mocks them. Ok.
