QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 9, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) Well the sox could pull it off without giving up those two, but it would probably cost Beckham which would be a terrible idea. Ok ... I'll give you that. Danks, Floyd or Beckham. Regardless, I wouldn't do it because there'd have to be a lot more included than one of those players.
-
You can forget that dream rotation. Acquiring Halladay would cost at least one of Floyd or Danks.
-
I'm still stewing on this trade. I'm also waiting until it's more than a rumor before I comment.

QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 10:52 AM) And only hours into the off season, K-Dubya announces the Sox are around and making noise. The marketing people applaud!! This trade seems to be a win-win for both teams. I have some misgivings, can see how this could turn ugly, but overall, nice move. Looking at your avatar ... It's over!

I can see both sides of this discussion. The writers see more games. more teams and more players ... well at least more of a cross section. The players see players in thier own division so ofton, that it limits the opportunities to see the others. Then again, you have Jay Hineybird's of the world that wouldn't know their a*****e from their elbow. I don't think Hineybird actually has a vote, but the point is made. Edit to replace part of a word with *****. Was expecting it to be auto censored.

QUOTE (striker62704 @ Sep 29, 2009 -> 11:10 AM) I think Sox fans give Cooper more credit than he deserves. If he "fixes" players then why did Vazquez, Aardsma, Masset and MacDougal struggle for us (by varying degrees) and excel else where? Do you think their fans are saying their pitching coach "fixed" them? Why didn't Sisco succeed with the Sox? Sometimes a change a scenery is all that is needed. Sometimes patience, which our organization lacks, IMO. That's okay. So do the fans. -
I have a very eloquent and well thought out way to express my feelings about the possibility of acquiring this guy. No.
-
Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing this kid.

TORRES!!!!!! What a job that young man did!

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 03:56 PM) Pretty bad effort swinging at three straight well out of the strike zone. Cubs are lucky to have teams like the Pirates, Mets and Nationals to play because their current W-L record does not even come close to showing how bad they are. Giving up 5 runs to the White Sox while getting shut out by a rookie at home is a really bad thing to do these days. Oh yeah! Sorryano just wanted to get it over with.

It's always good to win the season series vs. the Cubs.

Amen. -
I'd just take a wild guess and say Minoso.

Tyler Flowers' rep when we acquired him was good bat but not very good defensively. Well, how about this little note in the Shut Down Peavy article at the Trib site? Kinda caught me off guard, but it seems he's put in his due diligence defensively and it's paid off for him.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 03:12 PM) BOINAA /waits for it That's ALMOST too tempting, but I'll pass.
-
If there is any doubt whether Peavy is ready or not, I'd pitch Jose in that game. Basically, throwing him under the bus against the Yanks with CC on the hill for them. I don't want Peavy back unless he's close to 100% and I damn sure don't want to throw Hudson to the wolves in that situation.

Scott "Two Walks and a Long Ball" Linebrink

Cannizaro ... rings a bell. Wasn't there a catcher named Chris Cannizaro once upon a time?

QUOTE (chwhtsox @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 09:55 PM) So....I'm the only one who found the beer incident funny? Would it have been funny if the beer distracted him enough to where the ball hit him square in the face? That was a definite possibility.

How many more starts does Jose get?

Regardless of how well Javy is doing this year, he never stepped up while with the Sox when it was crucial for him to do so. After last season, it was almost unanimous here that Javy should go and not many b****ed when he was traded. Personally, I don't miss him. -
Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 08:49 AM) But but chics dig the long ball.... Yes, but not necessarily the home run. -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 03:15 PM) This is a true statement, but it's making a separate point. It's a point that gets overlooked a lot around here.

QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 09:26 AM) if the Sox do trade for him, couldn't they just say a player to be named later and then that player wouldn't have to pass through waivers? I really think Ricciardi is an idiot an will pull him back. This! -
QUOTE (kev211 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 01:10 AM) I met for the future obviosly right now he is more valuable at 3rd for the sox. But in the future he's better in the MIF The may very well prove to be the case. We'll have to see.
-
QUOTE (kev211 @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 12:38 PM) Defense aside Beckham's bat is more valuable at SS. There is no arguing against this point its a fact. I don't buy into this line of thought. A base hit prevented is just as meaningful as a base hit achieved.
