  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 2, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) Is it to soon to start planning my 104 party or do I have to wait for 103 to be official first? Wait till next year.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 2, 2011 -> 12:01 PM) Just by your list, that makes him the 5th person in line. I just put the other options before him. I consider Viciedo that the last resort. Visquel just can't physically do it over the long haul. Morel is the favorite and it's probably his job to lose. I consider the other two a coin flip. Teahen has the contract, DM has the tools. I don't know that he has what it takes to take advantage of this opportunity. The possibility is there. The probability ... eh, not so much.
  3. I can think of several, though some have already been mentioned and I won't repeat them with the exception of the miracle on ice .... that was awesome. I'm thinking of Franz Klamer's run in the winter games in I believe it was Innsbruk. Then there is the "Immaculate Reception" by Franco Harris. I remember Sweetness bouncing off of about 8 Vikings on 3 yard TD, but I can't pinpoint the year. Then there's Uribe's Game 4 ninth inning and Dwayne Wise's catch in Buehrle's perfecto. Oh ... then there is Bo Jackson running up the wall in the All-Star game. AJ on the drop third strike vs. the Angels. Then before my time, but Willie Mays' catch of Vic Wertz flyball in the '54 series, Teddy Ballgame taking the the ephus pitch in the ASG. Reggie Jackson vs the Dodgers. Damn ... like James Earl Jones said in Feild of Dreams, I'm having to brush away the memories.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 2, 2011 -> 08:53 AM) If there was even a hint of an opening, it would be different. But there are so many people in line in front of Dallas, who don't have near the questions that he does, it would take something crazy for him to be a realistic option. It isn't like we are talking about a bullpen spot where there is legitimate competition right now, or the 5th starter spot where Peavy is still a question mark. Morel is hardly a sure thing, Teahen is not the answer and Vizquel is too old to hold the job through the season. Tank is, well, lacking defensively. I'm not saying it'll happen, but the opportunity for DM is there if he can grab it.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 1, 2011 -> 08:14 AM) My question therefore was...is it ok if I know of the original solely because of the parody? Oh, and there appears to have been a misspellunk in my post as well. LOL. Ok, I guess that's acceptable.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 28, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) Is it OK is I know the Simpsons parody version? Ummmm, no. Not even sure I understand what you are asking.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 1, 2011 -> 07:53 AM) Then Ozzie's lying. That was a double-steal. Either that, or GB was paying attention.
  8. 'Specially Willie, Mickey and The Duke. If you recognize that, you've been around a few years.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 27, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) The problem is Yas, the "It's a business" flows both ways. I just can't see how ozzie responding at this point makes the Sox business better. Sometimes, you have to address things whether or not you want to. I'm sure Ozzie would prefer that he didn't have this issue but he does, through no fault of his own.
  10. Guillen is not the problem here. Both times this crap has started that fat tub of goo opened his damn mouth first. It seems pretty damn obvious to me that Jenks got his wittle (not a typo) feelings hurt and now is acting like a petulant 12 year old girl. Grow the F up already. It's a business.
  11. All this crap had pretty much died down until Jenks opened his yap again. STFUBJ
  12. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 09:20 AM) Led Zeppelin 4th Album i.e. the Stairway to Heaven album . I thought about this while I was looking for something to post, but then I guess I let it slip my mind. Tex, I know what you're thinking ....
  13. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 07:44 AM) Nice! I looked for him but couldn't see the "5" Strange! In the archives they have him listed as # 5, but I have pictures of him with # 6 I saw those too. Yet, I knew I remembered him as #5.
  14. The pic I posted was of Chuck Tanner.
  15. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Feb 21, 2011 -> 08:00 AM) nice catch! He wasn't even on my list! He was the first guy I thought of.
  16. QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Feb 20, 2011 -> 01:22 AM) LOL. I love this picture of Ozzie. Its just needs a funny text in there. "Oney, WTF have you done this time?"
  17. I'm lazy today, but wasn't Pete Ward #8?
  18. hearing on MLBN right now.
  19. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 07:39 AM) Usually I put names on the pictures. Not this time! Anyone have any guesses? Total shot in the dark, but going with the 1st name to pop into my head. Gerry McNertney
  20. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 07:36 AM) I was going to post this exact card. You saved me trouble.
