  1. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 09:56 PM) I don't know where to say this, but what Facebook is doing with the tournament this year is being done really well. I'm beyond impressed. They got real-time scoring, videos, game previews, etc. I know, of all places FACEBOOK is the best one online for tournament stuff. ESPN and Yahoo should be ashamed of themselves. The bracket thing is also HUGE on facebook, I only joined the biggest groups among my friends and i'm still in about a dozen of them.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 09:57 AM) Maybe Bush should have just fired all of the DA's like the all Great and Mighty Bill Clinton? Looks like he might have taken your advice.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) the Bush team just did an amateur job here at something the Clinton's were masters at.... #1 problem in the history of the Republican party right there. Republican politicians can't cover their tracks doing this kind of stuff, whereas Democrats do it and we never hear a word. The lefties are FAR better liars, and in politics that's a huge advantage to have.
  4. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 11:45 AM) "I've had it, life sucks...pass me the Weber!" Sad, but there are going to be sooooooo many jokes about this one. If your dumb enough to kill yourself in that wild a fashion, your asking for and deserve all the jokes.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 01:49 AM) BTW, I wouldn't toot your Big 10 horn for that game. Marquette would've lost to any of the 64 teams today... Kudos to MSU for their solid defensive work, but Crean's offensive gameplan appeared to be to set a bunch of meaningless screens and dribble around the perimeter until the shot clock winded down -- then shoot a three. EVERYTIME i've ever seen Marquette, that's their offense, only sometimes it somehow works since Crean can recruit. Hence I say overall, Crean should tithe 10 percent to D Wade.
  6. I went 13-3, and 2 of my losses were due to picking Duke and picking AGAINST a team whom I know a player on, so maybe i'm not as smart as I lead on
  7. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 07:51 PM) s*** Big 10 sucks, MSU shouldnt have been in the tourney? Experts are a joke, DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS. Almost was going to go with MSU over UNC And as Michigan State, MAYBE Indiana, and certainly Illinois will soon find out (as well as Wisky), lack of offense loses Championships. The reason Ohio State is the one team that has a shot to really do something is they can score, and I'd say IU has a decent shot as well since they have 2 combustable guards with Bassett and Wilmont, as well as White inside. This league still isn't very good, I wasn't surprised at any of the wins today considering the competition.
  8. IU certainly has a shot since that will be one of those awful 55-51 games, but as much trouble as White had against those 6'7" white guys from Gonzaga, he'll get killed by UCLA playing that way.
  9. The only Sweet 16 team I lost was Duke, and all my Elite 8 teams and on are fine. I had a great day by my standards, actually.
  10. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 06:06 PM) You're right. The President was impeached because there was an element of the GOP that refused to accept the legitimacy of the Clinton presidency and sought to undermine it in every way necessary. And those people are 100 percent right about the presidency itself. But in all seriousness, I would assume most people with a brain would admit the Clinton impreachment was at best, grasping for straws, and more likely a total joke.
  11. I thought we completely robbed them blind in that trade personally, and considering how "positive" (lol) I normally am, that should be endorsement enough for the deal.
  12. FWIW, the majority of Rangers fans think that we hosed them big time in that deal when you consider Danks is lefty, at least as good in terms of MLB prospects as B-Mac, plus we got Masset. That's how the trade was seen for the most part in Dallas, and I tend to agree with them.
  13. I think the point could be made that the only difference between Heath and Buehrle circa 2000-2001 is that when Buehrle was coming up, we had all kinds of pitchers getting hurt and having their arms fall off and had no system depth, thus he got his shot, whereas Heath isn't getting a shot since we have a lot of "better" arms in the system.
  14. He's hitting over .500 right now in ST. Looks like he's going to make that team.
  15. He has pretty mediocre stuff, and as Mark Buehrle has shown, you can't produce at all ever if your a lefty with mediocre stuff. Oh wait......
  16. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 12:14 PM) We had to send Rowand down a few times. It was ultimately good for him. Might be a nice wakeup call for BA if he gets sent down. Point taken, but Rowand never became more than a slightly below average MLB CF (if you take into account offense and defense), so bad example.
  17. I personally don't like cronie Gonzales either, but if the NYT wants him gone, that confirms to me he should stay. What a joke of a "news" paper, they've turned into the left wings answer to Fox News Channel.
  18. QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 11:37 AM) . I don't need the approval. Thanks anyways. Oh don't worry, the ignorance of your posts made that perfectly clear, no need to clarify. Man, BA is more of a lightning rod than Ozzie these days, which is odd since he's an underdog to even make the team IMO.
  19. Comparing Floyd to Roy Halladay? Oh no, close the thread before this gets ugly, please. This comparision is going to hold even less water when Floyd starts in AAA and Danks has his job though.
  20. http://www.hawkcentral.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...0316/1053/HAWKS This news certainly brightened my day, and all you fans of non Iowa Big 10 fans should feel the same, even us Illini fans who should dread the inevitable return of Jamar Smith next year *throws up*. This AD also deserves a BIG raise, btw.
  21. I put Floyd in the Garland category re: velocity. If he is throwing 95, it probably means he's overthrowing, getting the ball up, and getting the ol' blow torch. Throw 92 and get some downward movement, Gavin.
  22. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 08:28 AM) Evan Turner, going to Ohio State, is such a one on one player. He can score, no doubt, but needs work on other parts of his game. With the recruiting they've done, he might not even get minutes there. I was glad to see McCamey go 5 for 6 on three balls as well, he's going to get minutes next year and he's very talented, and it's good to see him improving on one of the weaker parts of his game (perimeter shooting).
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 08:45 AM) Tyrus can be as dangerous as Tyrus lets himself be. Last night was a good example of letting the game come to him for the most part. He has freakish athletic ability, and the basketball IQ of a grape. If the kid ever relaxes and lets the game happen, he could potentially be the best player on this team. I think at this point of the season conditioning has a part in how long you can let him play, but for the most part this is the time to extend his minutes if you can. With both Noc and Allen sidelined, this is Tyrus's chance to shine. I agree with you 100 percent here. My only point is Tyrus should be on the floor as long as he can stay out of foul trouble, end of story. Even the current, somewhat dumb version of Tyrus is without question the best big on the team IMO, hence him needing to be out there. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 09:36 AM) And anybody else sneak a peek at portland's box score to see that aldridge went for 24 pts., 17 boards, 4 blocks, and feel just a little bit less excited about tyrus's game last night? Nope, and I was somebody that wanted Aldridge. Having seen them both this year though, Tyrus has a WAY WAY bigger upside than LaMarcus, so I can't regret that pick.
  24. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) I know nothing about Illinois' assistants They are a complete JOKE in recruiting, yet Bruce remains loyal to them. That is as big a problem as in for Illinois recruiting.
  25. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 07:53 AM) He has to be able to not commit stupid fouls and turnovers before he can stay on the floor for reasonable amounts of time. Those are the exact things that have been holding him back all year long. He needs to stay under control. At times it's been foul trouble, but like even nights like last night where he stays out of foul trouble, he usually ends up on the bench for a Mike Sweetney. Last night, he stayed out of foul trouble, they let him play a lot of minutes, and what do you know? If Tyrus gets his shot AND does his part (stays out of foul trouble), this team is actually dangerous.
