  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 11:14 PM) I'm hoping BA actually gets a start against a righty soon. He has an OPS of about .200 better against them compared to lefties. This is one case where playing the matchups hurts.
  2. That seems like a pretty high price... Then again, that is from MLBTradeRumors.com. The next time they break a significant story will be the first.
  3. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 11:13 PM) dont you guys realize we cant trade out prospects? the charlotte knights need to win the IL championship! Lumpy is in AA.
  4. Best birthday present I could've asked for from the Sox.
  5. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:37 PM) They obviously don't get CIU in Montana. I'd say that catch bought Brian at least two more weeks in the bigs.
  6. Having Crede combined with Fields's not so stellar 3B defense makes Fields somewhat expendable, plus the guys that people are talking about getting in exchange for him aren't going to come cheap. QUOTE(palesox38 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:53 PM) I don't want anyone to misunderstand what I wrote. There's no doubt that I'de love to have Crede for the rest of his career if it would be possible, but Fields really could still fit in somewhere in the future, like OF, as we mentioned. I just think he's too valuable and I think it would really have to be a mega-deal for me to be OK with him leaving. Say Carl Crawford or a great setup man (Scott Linebrink), like what has been discussed?
  7. I hope Thome and Dye go 1-2 in the MVP voting. They both deserve it. Maybe they could tie?
  8. Brian. Anderson. THE reason for the win tonight. Mack in CF=loss.
  9. Get Bobby up and cue the fat lady!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 04:31 PM) I like Linebrink a lot, but would you guys actually give up Fields for Linebrink and Cameron? Yes. In that deal the Sox get an immediate and somewhat permanent solution to the bullpen problem and at the very least a stopgap CF. For Fields, that's a nice package, especially considering the price the Rays would likely want for Crawford by himself.
  11. QUOTE(G&T @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) I missed the part where BMac was an All-Star pitcher. I missed the part where Ervin Santana was. As Jason said McCarthy>>>E. Santana. Anyway, it looks like the article said the Rays wanted corner IF and power arms. Fields + Lumpy?
  12. QUOTE(G&T @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) According to this Santana wouldn't be enough, which means BMac wouldn't come close. I missed the part where Ervin Santana>Brandon McCarthy. That said, I doubt McCarthy would be traded.

Anyone think Tracey has a real shot at earning and keeping a pen spot this year?
  14. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 01:24 AM) So, what was your favorite moment of the Jeff Nelson era? The one where he pitched well?

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 01:20 AM) $6M team option next year. I love team options.
  16. Okay, so Tracey got called up, or Lopez? I've read both. I'm hoping for Tracey though. To those who see this as a bad thing, can anyone who comes up be worse than Cliff's 7+ ERA and 2+ WHIP?

Isn't his contract up after this season?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) The slider is supposidly just a tighter curve that looks similar to a slider. I think when you're dealing with a guy like Jenks, it's nearly impossible to identify all of his pitches. The pitch I'm talking about has right to left break though. He threw it to get the K against Granderson yesterday and it was clocked at 87.
  19. Make that 1-5.

Pitches I've seen Bobby throw: 95-102 MPH fastball 94-98 MPH cutter 87-91 MPH slider 83-86 MPH curveball
  21. I know there's little chance of this, but a Clark + Turnbow package would be excellent, although we'd have to give up what little farm we have left.
  22. Cheeseburgers for the FAT MAN!
  23. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 10:43 PM) How dare he not be god of the universe!
  24. Hopefully this guy can be ready for the stretch run. I know it's not likely, but hey, a guy can dream, right?
  25. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) I heard a legit rumor that the Sox are interested in taking a North Carolina high school pitcher in the 2nd or 3rd round. His last name is White, and they've offered him a pretty big deal. My source wasn't very impressed with him. Alex White? That's the only name I found that matched your description. Unfortunately, mlb.com doesn't have any video of him.
