QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 9, 2017 -> 03:29 PM) 670 The ScoreVerified account @670TheScore 1h1 hour ago #WhiteSox know Eloy Jimenez could force their hand and earn big league promotion in 2018, writes @MLBBruceLevine http://cbsloc.al/2m9Tk6X you don't say...

Big week for Eloy
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 7, 2017 -> 03:53 AM) https://mobile.twitter.com/Gigantes_Cibao/s...3278465/video/1 I can't be sure but it kinda looks like Eloy somehow knew that was going to be a HR. Just a hunch. this kid hits the ball 420+ ft on the regular. Stanton 2.0 http://m.mlb.com/news/article/206023162/cu...-velocity-1194/

Big week for Eloy
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 07:13 PM) Lets hope Rick sticks to his word about not rushing these guys. I honestly don't doubt Eloy couldn't handle it but I'd rather see him in AA even if it's only (likely) for a couple of months to accumulate PA's and experience. AA is probably the biggest jump in the minors. Same with Robert with the A- or A+ decision. Eloy is ready to run. Unleash him in AA for a minute, promote him to AAA in June, and he's in Chicago by August.

Big week for Eloy
I can't wait to see the ZIPS projections for Eloy next year. I can see 270/310/440 which is pretty remarkable for an age 21 projection.

Big week for Eloy
QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 27, 2017 -> 10:36 PM) Jimenez hr tonight (3) https://mobile.twitter.com/Gigantes_Cibao/s...084878773276673 Ya got me! Was just about to come and post that. What more can he do... I think this kid will be the best Sox hitter since Konerko. Perhaps since...Big Frank himself. I can see 310/380/600 lines in his prime. At worst he's 270/350/550. At worst.

Big week for Eloy
Article from the Trib: a lazy, s*** piece that just summarizes what the Dominican paper said, but it's Eloy content: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...1026-story.html

Big week for Eloy
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 25, 2017 -> 09:05 PM) Eloy getting the night off for White Sox dugout clown legend, Moises Sierra. Good article on Eloy from the Dominican. My spanish is bad but the summary is that the competition level is high, he enjoys playing in front of his countryman, family, and friends, and that he probably won't ever be back, cause, uh, he's the besss and he'll be in MLB late next summer. www.quisqueyanosports.com/2017/10/lidom-eloy-jimenez-no-esta-seguro-de.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Big week for Eloy
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 05:22 PM) No kidding. I don't think anyone else knew that, just as no one else realized that Tatis was good yet. Can we get back to Eloy yet? Was named player of the week for the 1st week. Nuestro jugador Eloy Jiménez, fue escogido como el Pelotero Estrella de la Semana.

Big week for Eloy
QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 04:40 PM) Given the Sox track record with developing hitters, it should make us cautious, but bizarrely I feel like Eloy legit can’t miss, like I’ll be SHOCKED if he isn’t at least a 3.0 WAR hitter at some point in his career. Not even the Sox can screw this one up.

Big week for Eloy
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 03:17 PM) What's Eloy's defense like in the outfield? Will he go to LF or will Avi move to LF when Eloy is called up? Great to hear Eloy is mashing at such a high level of competition. I'm starting to wonder if he has a strong ST the Sox put him in Charlotte to start the '18 season. Adequate tools, but nothing special. Probably something like 30/45 on the scouting scale for his glove and 45/55 for his arm. That said, if he's hitting 300/380/580 nobody is really going to give a f*** about being -5 runs in RF/LF over 162 games.

Big week for Eloy
QUOTE (Nokona @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 01:21 PM) He's on the team for the next year (in august) I think so. He's going to tear up AA, get promoted to Charlotte around June, then spend about 1.5 months there before coming to the big club.

Big week for Eloy
QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 01:13 PM) That's interesting I guess I didn't think about what level winter league competition was at. He's currently the most searched minor league player on Fangraphs FWIW.

Big week for Eloy
QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 02:09 PM) I enjoy hashing over Tatis as much as the next guy but I like to keep my Eloy threads on Eloy, the most exciting sox prospect I can remember. Something is seriously wrong in your head if you see that blurb and stopped reading after Tatis. FFS Eloy Jimenez is maybe the most exciting hitting prospect (no, he is, without a doubt) the Sox have had since Big Frank. GET EXCITED. He's crushing AAAA level pitching in the DWL when he could just be sitting at home resting on his incredible MiLB season.

NLCS: Cubs vs. Dodgers
Cubs Twitter is pretty pissed. What a grade trade by Hahn. Wish Q the best but man he has not had the impact they hoped.

2017 Offseason White Sox News, Notes, and Tweets thread
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 01:26 AM) Good grief! Has that ball landed yet? He might have taken out a satellite with that shot. on pure results + physical talent this kid is the most exciting prospect I've followed. He's electric and the results match the hype. I sorta remember Frank and Robin and Fernandez, but not really.

2017 Offseason White Sox News, Notes, and Tweets thread
It's time for some Eloy Jimenez porn: https://twitter.com/SoxOn35th/status/919593705056718850 He's like 6-12 in his first 3 games with a HR and 3 walks. The league is usually considered AAAA quality.

Kopech/Hansen in running for MiLB POTY
QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 02:20 PM) This is a fun argument, which one of the our pitchers should be crowned the minor league pitcher of the year, in all of baseball.. winner.

RIP Daniel Webb
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 15, 2017 -> 07:49 PM) ATVs and snowmobiles can be such bad news. Best wishes to his family. Especially with young men. Kid I knew growing up left himself paralyzed going too fast on a ATV and flipping with it landing on him. RIP Daniel, just awful to die so young and leaving a family behind.

What do you take from the 2017 season?
QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 03:41 PM) Was thinking about next years lineup and looking at some defensive numbers for Sox players. Carlos Sanchez is an elite defensive 3B. Of 3B with 350 innings played (Carlos only played 393 innings there this year), Carlos ranks as follows: UZR - 13th UZR/150 - 1st RZR - 1st DRS - 6th He still needs to increase improve his offensive profile to jump up into the next tier, but if he can play that type of defensive at 3B over the course of a 162 game season and stay around 95 wRC+, that should equate to a 3-4 win player. It should definitely be his job to lose next season and probably until Burger is ready or a FA stud is signed. Really good development for the rebuild though. The IF looks good next year. Around the horn you have Sanchez, Anderson, Moncada, Abreu. That's a pretty solid IF. I think TA will play a run neutral SS next year, which is basically what he did the last 50 odd games this year once he started to pick up the pieces from his friend's death.

Projected Arbitration Salaries for 2018
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 12:01 PM) Agree about Albuquerque gone and Putnam re-signed to a minor league deal. The numbers look pretty close although I think Avi's projection is a tad lite. I think Avi gets 8M and deserves it. Yea I know the arb process is moving away from traditional stats (where avi stands out) but there is no way the Sox low ball him like and go to arb. I'd bet they offer him 7.5 million, he counters 9 million, and they agree around 8 and avoid arb. The sox rarely if ever go to arb, right?
