  1. When is the last time all three runs in a "MLB" game scored via wild pitch?
  2. detroit trotting out quite a few guys with a 550 OPS.
  3. He's thrown 2 strikes! STOP FUCKING SWINGING
  4. That was a pretty bad AB. Found himself down 0-2 after swinging at two balls.
  5. Jake is in swing mode for better or worse here.
  6. Climate change, long covid, just a lot to ask of these guys to go out and perform.
  7. this is a classic pitcher's duel between two good teams.
  8. About 10 years ago I think it was on South Side Sox or maybe Bless You Boys someone wrote "the slow paper cuts of bad to mediocre baseball are a unique feature of the sport over a season, when wins are just a slow death towards unfulfillment.
  9. That's funny a guy that played so much already is DFA. Funny might not be the right word.
  10. Even better: White Sox baseball, our expectations were low, but holy s%*#.
  11. He was out in front of that trend. Unfortunately he was over promoted into a GM when in reality he was only good at contracts.
  12. With the later deadline it helps sellers, so yea, no reason to trade now. Wait until late July and hope a dozen teams in each league think they are in contention.
  13. Trying to predict anything this stupid FO will do is a fool's errand. For all we know they probably would consider that contention and will trade for another couple relievers via Colson.
  14. I'm not trying to pick on you Dick, and in fact I've liked a lot of your posts this year but that's apples and oranges. Chris Sale, Eaton and Q were all on surplus value deals exceeding 30-40 million. Verlander might have been around 10 million at best when he was dealt. Looking at his contract history more closely, at the time, Verlander probably had neutral value.
  15. Dude nobody is trading a B prospect (so like a backend type 150 type) for two months of a middle reliever. Lopez turning into a swingman? Come on man. If you trade Anderson, which you probably should, you're signaling a white flag on the contention in ways trading relievers or Giolito would not. Would JR stand for that? I don't know, but it would be a pretty big indication we aren't planning on contending anytime soon. Also, Anderson has been replacement level going on 100 games, like what exactly is his value even? I really can't emphasize enough: we have nothing to jumpstart a rebuild with trade wise.
  16. Let's not fool ourselves. The only real guy with a lot of value at the moment is Cease. Gio is going to get paid, he has little surplus value. Same with Liam, who also unfortunately has a big flag over him with the cancer. We have a ton of average level relievers that won't get anything more than a C+ prospect. Maybe if you package Gio and Kelly and Liam you can get a top 100 in MLB type guy. Knowing our scouting and development it would probably be a Rutherford type that will flame out.
  17. Isn't the trend towards HS kids you can develop in your system and the Sox took 4/32? Of course we buck the trend to our detriment.
  18. A bit sad for Jose as he's a DFA candidate (well waivers anyways) come July. His statcast data is shockingly bad. He basically pulled a Konerko where at 37 he went from above average to below replacement suddenly.
