  1. I feel like 95% of the time with an elbow issue if it's down to "seeking more opinions" and "hoping for the best" it's gonna be at best 3 months of rest and at worst 15 months of TJS rehab.
  2. Hard to believe we're basically halfway through spring training. So far it's been a decent spring other than the results. We're going to suck ass of course, but team health is good and there's been some positives with the pitching projects.
  3. No, spring training doesn't mean anything for all we know they told him to take it easy and not hurt himself like he did last year to start off. I'll worry if he hurts his oblique again. We need him to get that high minors experience this year.
  4. He's a jackass. He was fine in Japan but certainly not elite. You put those things together and nobody wants that distraction relative to the upside. Upside might be 150 innings at 4.2 era. Downside is he pisses off you clubhouse and fans and pitches 100 innings at 4.8 era or so. His zips projected era is 4.3 so I'm not quite just spitballing.
  5. Mookie is an insane athlete. If anybody could do it, I'd think he could. I feel like if that guy decided to be like a world class darts player if you gave him a few years he would get pretty close.
  6. You score runs with homeruns and doubles. Not singles and bunts. This isn't 1973 and you play at G-Rate, not the Astrodome.
  7. That's great news. Thanks for the update. 2nd or 3rd start some of these guys should be moving away from "working on things" and trying to make some good pitches once and awhile.
  8. He's a DH and his statcast xwOBA was in the 1st percentile. Anytime you have a guy like that, you find a way to get him playing time. He's a comically bad player. Like he's probably not even a AAAA player. He'll also be 28 in May. I mean, if he was 24 maybe you can justify it based on profile a bit, but he's already well into what should be his statistical prime.
  9. These days they use the Sox as more of a stick than a carrot...get some Ds? Go spend 3 hours at the park watching the grass grow in between a 6-2 snoozer. No phone or tablet allowed. That will learn 'em up.
  10. Another sticky stuff guy.
  11. He could hit 500/600/800 this spring and I wouldn't reconsider a single thing about him. His numbers are horrific, for a LHB DH, they are almost unfathomably bad.
  12. The really insist on Gavin Sheets, don't they? Why the f*** wouldn't you just give those 1B innings to Colas this spring? Fucking idiots.
  13. Oh my first instinct is 100% "f*** off another nepo / loyalist hire". He will need to earn any benefit of the doubt. I just don't have the energy to be big mad at Getz yet. It's all reserved for the man upstairs smoking his stogies.
  14. I think in totality it's been a decent offseason. I just don't think you can judge Getz until he's got a couple years under his belt. It's hard for me to care too much about any and all the moves until we see if he's improved the Sox' overall talent by 2026.
  15. Yankees media frenzied concern over Rodon is putting some pressure on Cashman. Let's take advantage.
  16. I mean it's pretty obvious the plan is to field a team while spending around the least money possible. Is what it is. Just wait until July when we've got 5 guys injured, you'll really see some stiffs.
  17. Shaw sucks and is 36, he shouldn't be coming north. Just find literally anybody else for middle reliever.
  18. Leisurely inning -- jAsON
  19. First game I ever tried to go to back in 2016 at Camelback was rained out. Same week we got caught in a massive rainstorm while out hiking around Tom's Thumb trail. Turned the trail into a river in under 20 minutes. Thank god it was fairly warm. Streets all flooded on our way back to the hotel, and rich soccer moms fording small rivers in massive SUVs at 5mph.
  20. Going so fast he reversed time to yesterday. Take that Einstein.
  21. I have no idea who "Robinson" is. Apparently he's a ballplayer for the Sox and plays catcher.
  22. That's fine, just don't say it publicly. Man management. Know your personnel. Kopech is the type of guy you praise in public and then use the stick approach in private.
  23. Carlos Rodon made his second Grapefruit League start Wednesday, which is more than he could say last spring. But his first and last pitches ended up in the seats, and in between, though the Yankees left-hander built his workload up to 60 pitches, there was a noticeable lack of life on his signature fastball. “Didn’t really have the fastball velo I wanted, but it’s one of those days,” Rodon said after allowing three runs in three-plus innings in a 4-3 loss to the Rays at Steinbrenner Field. “It’s one of those days you gotta be able to pitch without the fastball and use some other things, so that was good to feel that in a game that no one really gives a s–-t about because it doesn’t matter, it’s spring training. “But the competing side of me, don’t want to give up a home run on the front end, home run on the back end. But there was some good pitches in between.”
