  1. that was a helluva play by leury that ball had a shitload of topspin and was sinking fast.
  2. I just tried switching back to the Sox broadcast and I lasted all of 30 seconds listening to Bacon. I don't know how you guys are doing it.
  3. Crochett is now the 8th inning guy. Period. Don't care whose feelings get hurt. This is why TLR was hired, if he can't make this call he shouldn't be here.
  4. i have zero confidence in this club right now. is what it is.
  5. least fun first place team ever. this bullpen is straight trash.
  6. zevala is just as bad as Collins behind the plate.
  7. he's a really bad defender, I can see why he was let loose in his prior stops despite being a pretty decent option against RHP.
  8. he just hasn't had it lately. I think it's because he's going 2-3 days between uses, it's time to take the kid gloves off.
  9. boom or bust offense, hopefully when they get grandal back it gets more consistent, he really helps with seeing a lot of pitches and keeping the line moving.
  10. usually a dry mound isn't ideal. but in baseball you want one.
  11. hey man this is a gamethread and this reasonable informed take has no place here.
  12. Beckham is an even worse color guy than ballplayer, who the fuck made the call to have him in the booth? I'd rather have a Hawk soundboard run by a monkey.
  13. he has the misfortune of having the worst swing I've seen at the MLB level as well. Glad he ran into a few when he was up here but there's a good chance he never sees MLB again. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he's a 40 man cut in the offseason.
  14. Zavala will probably never play in MLB again. Collins might turn into a decent backup yet.
  15. I was living with a good friend, die hard Tigers fan, when they blew the WS on what was essentially high leverage fuckup after high leverage fuckup. Dude is the calmest, nicest guy I know and he was raging and throwing shit. Baseball is just different that way. It fucking eats at you.
  16. I forgot how stressful meaningful pitches are. Honestly I'm a diehard fan of a lot of teams but baseball is the only sport that I feel sometimes I just want to not watch. Shit is just painful. Same thing I had during the playoffs last year in the last game I just turned it off, couldn't stand to watch.
  17. I'd give my left nut to open against the Ms in the playoffs. They suck ass and are lucky. I'd take a shit team like that in the playoffs 10/10 and never ever look back. I don't care if they are 162-0 in 1 run games with a +162 fun differential.
  18. bro how is it 2021 and you don't have this yet: https://www.espn.com/mlb/standings/_/view/expanded
  19. God bless Scott Servais, the Forrest Gump of managers.
  20. 26-14 in 1 run games, most wins in baseball. Your logic is dumb AF, no offense.
