  1. Wow, I thought he hurt it in camp, but he hurt it falling off a motorcycle. What a moron.
  2. Pisses me off seeing what the mariners were able to get from Cinci as the Sox twiddle their thumbs.
  3. Well, I guess in some universe that's possibly the case. Let's hope it's this one.
  4. Dovetails nicely with what I just said. Look at this point you might just want to consider eating the entire fucking contract to get rid of him in a deal or just keeping him until the deadline and seeing what the landscape looks like. The Sox are in a bad spot leverage wise, and to be fair, the CBA shit kinda fucked them too.
  5. FA and game thread are a vent zone. People need to calm down on policing the thought. And why would the board be exited about anything the Sox have done the last 7 months acquisition wise? It's been one poorly thought out move after another. And I'm a guy that was probably as down on Nick as anybody! But that trade set a lot of other shit into motion that is biting them now.
  6. Tatis JR needs to say healthy and they need to move him off SS to help him.
  7. Sanchez looks like a guy that isn't really a catcher much longer. Seems like a salary dump first move to help team 2nd. Yankees always seem to find these deals. At least Donaldson is out of the division and it's at the Twinkies' expense this time.
  8. Chuck reported that coaches saw Robert running and told him to 'take it easy' and Robert responded, "this is easy". Noice.
  9. Ha, come on. Vaughn held his own against MLB pitching there's nothing for him to "season" down in AAA. The rest of his seasoning will need to be done against his talent peers in MLB.
  10. I don't really see the value in comparing the two. Sheets is his own player and as a lefty he has a huge advantage over Vaughn getting those matchups. I like'em both FWIW and I don't see a huge reason to move Sheets right now there's ABs for him at DH and 1B. Jose is going to sit and probably be hurt more and more as he continues to age.
  11. I can't tell you who I'd have signed because I'm not privy to the valuations and the budget of the owner. That said, the signings the Sox have done so far are horse shit.
  12. So you got a club option on a 33 year old that might pitch 50 innings in 2023, party time!
  13. Alright I'm off the ledge, still peering over.
  14. So they traded away a club controlled guy and a likely 2.5 WAR 2B for some b**** ass overpaid guy that can't pitch non 9th scenarios who they now are trading for .50 on the dollar in order to spend the first moves of the offeason trying to FILL THOSE HOLES ON THE CHEAP. FFS.
  15. if balta, myself and ray agree on something it's clearly a bad move for the Sox just saying.
  16. We'll see how he does outside Spidertack land in SoCal.
  17. I just don't understand making this a priority. It's not necessarily that they were focused on relief at the expense of other options but this is a pattern now.
  18. He's also due for BABIP regression imo. He has to be. Career low .227 last year with a 85 exit velocity. and now he can't doctor the ball anymore like he clearly was. this is dumb AF.
  19. How many god damn opportunity costs are we going to take on in pursuit of relief pitchers? You know what, if the team is up 8-3 instead of 5-3 in the 7th, maybe we don't need so many fucking relievers.
  20. This is a good change. Sometimes optimization in sports requires rule changes. Steals are exciting, this will help create more excitement. Same with banning the shift next year. and personally as a fan of team with Luis Robert anything that prevents him from ripping that thumb again I'm 100% behind.
  21. Happy for Carlos he deserves generational wealth. I am also happy the White sox didn't just give this man 44 million and an opt out.
  22. Clubs and their fans who have seen him the last few years however think otherwise. His shoulder might like fine on an MRI or physical exam, we'll see how his shoulder feels in August.
