I'm guessing he asked for leave and it was granted. I think the heel injury might have been the death knell for him. Probably just said "fuck it" after that and hey it's his decision. He's almost certainly going to get a shot this year, unless you think Jose and EE play a combined 300 games. He's a DH/1B only. You can't have him catch a MLB game based on what we've seen this spring. I'm not sure why the Sox haven't gotten off the pot on that yet.

A must read article from Dan Z on Robert today. TL:DR is that if Robert hits his 80th or 90th percentile ZIPS projections the White Sox are about even odds to make the playoffs. And Dan is about as optimistic as you'll ever hear him on Robert beating his own projection system's odds. @Quin @bmags @Balta1701 can one of you guys move this thread to the main forum now that Robert is a Big Leaguer?
