QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 07:51 PM) There is, some call him the Greek GOD. If you're expecting him to be better than Hudson....there's a solid chance you'll be disappointed.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 07:13 PM) He did mention the Dodgers need to pick up someone like him to help their offense. The Dodgers, White Sox, Indians, Diamondbacks were teams on his list I believe. Might have been one other.

Don't look now...Pirates are 6 games over .500 and 1/2 game out of the wild card.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 07:05 PM) I thought I heard that the DODGERS were willing to pick up $5M I just checked the DVR. "The Red Sox, well they're willing to pick up $5 million of the $8 million remaining on Youkilis's contract".
-
Rosenthal says Red Sox are willing to pick up $5 million of the $8 million. Said the White Sox were close but the BoSox backed off because they'd rather try to send him to the NL. The Indians are also getting in the list because they want to make a splash. Valentine and Youkilis getting into it on the record over Youk not getting playing time.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 06:06 PM) Hahn is on with Rongey now. Nothing imminent, and he reiterated that usually when "rumors" come out, they don't come to fruition. Which is true. Yeah...knowing sommething Kenny is about to do before he does it is totally not his style.

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 05:19 PM) Lost 15 out of their last 17. Second highest run differential in the NL, ahead of only the Padres. Marlins are just about done for the year. Really incredible. And with the amount of money they blew on free agents last year, man, that's not very good.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) They've been saying that the grass has only been getting 4 hours of sun per day and they are considering grow lamps to combat that problem. Retractable roof stadiums have tough times keeping natural grass healthy. How do you sped hundreds of millions of dollars on a stadium and not have someone figure out beforehand the average amount of time the roof would need to be open to support the grass? I'll figure that out for $20k right now. Just get me the access to Miami weather history that te MArlins surely have.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 02:48 PM) We would only have one right handed set up guy left in Jones. After that it is Bruney. Hypothetically say Bruney has a good month and we still need a 3b end of July. Consider it then? Def. saves some money to move Crain.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 05:54 AM) No one notice Rienzo's awesome start tonight in B'Ham? 8 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K. Mirroring Chris Sale's effort tonight. Awesome, one bad start to work his way back in and then snaps off a game with 1 walk.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 11:40 PM) And at what point is Humber struggling due to the pain. Clearly he couldn't pitch through the injury, so they dl'd him. Probably the exact same thing that happened to Danks (when they finally decided he couldn't pitch through it). It happens. Up until last start, Im pretty sure I read where Floyd had a double digit era or close to it in his past few starts (which was significantly worse then Humber). Humber had a couple really bad starts, but he also has quite a few quality starts. I don't recall Philip having a good start soince the perfect game.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) I'm fine with that too. Or Will Ohman. I'd be ok with tht too, my no trade list is just a bit longer than fathoms.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 12:34 AM) I may be wrong, but I believe that the Bears can franchise him again in 2013 even if he sits out 2012. They can franchise him next year regardless of whether he plays this year, but if he skips this year I don't think the dollar value increases. If he plays this year then next years tag is close to $10 million.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) I'm hearing Mike Miller might retire. He has three years and almost $19 million dollars remaining on his contract. Do the Heat get that money back? If so, that's not good. Yes that would save them money but they're over the cap anyway so that shouldn't impact much other than their luxury tax payment. They'll still have the mini Mid level available this offseason either way I think.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) I believe I only used minutes per game in my post, unless you are referring to something else. When a guy misses 15% of the seaosn like Deng, then what does it matter if he playes 0.5 more mpg than the next 3 guys? When Rose misses 60% of the seaosn, he's not carrying the same load.
-
QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:48 PM) He shouldnt cost much at all...even if the Red Sox do eat part of that contract. It's be $7-$8 million to take him on right now.

6/22 GT: SOX vs. Brewers - 7:10pm CSN

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:34 PM) Greinke pitched great today and honestly better than Sale, but Paul Konerko hasn't contributed s*** lately. Every time he comes up in a key at bat he takes a bad swing at a bad pitch in a hitter's count and gets doubled up. He needs to figure it out, get healthy, or sit out if he's hurting. They showed the stat line of him hitting .316 with 2 HR over the previous 10 games. -
It's fun to switch between total minutes and minutes per game when you avoid noting how many games people missed.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:18 PM) Yeah, Nate Jones would be about the maximum I'd give up for him. Not sure whether he can man 3rd for 2 more years, but I'll be honest and say I haven't paid much attention to him for a while. With his injury history and defense I wouldn't want to part with anything at the big league level for him. -

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:14 PM) Bringing him in wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Just wouldn't give up anything of value for him with that kind of money and a DH already purchased for that time period. -
I am content with that.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:04 PM) I don't hear much talk about Aramis, does he have a lot of time left on his deal or something? 2.5 years and $30 million.
