  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 05:39 PM) This. He's going to get multiple offers. Red Sox, White Sox, Cubs. Who else is actively searching for a manager? And the Cubs of course still haven't actually fired their guy since they don't have a GM yet.
  2. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 05:04 PM) Kenny to sign him to a 5 year $125mil deal then? You know, usually there needs to be a grain of truth to a joke for it to have a modicum of humor. This does not. If Kenny spends money on anything, it's on old power guys, not young guys who can field but can't hit. You know who really loves speedy guys who can't hit? Ozzie Guillen.
  3. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 04:45 PM) I wonder if the Yankees would accept a Danks for Gardener deal? They will be in a desperate need for pitching this offseason and im sure they can just replace Gardener on the free agent market somewhere. If Danks had performed in 2011 like he performed in 2008 we might have had a shot. I think that's a great deal more value than the Sox can expect from Danks. And the worst part is...where would he play? Who you benching, De Aza, Quentin, Lillibridge, Rios?
  4. Perhaps not.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) That isn't going to happen. But that has nothing to do with Flowers's readiness. They won't move AJ because they're not paying for him to go away. Not because Flowers isn't ready.
  6. State by state polling shows Herman Cain surging into the lead in West Virginia, North Carolina, and Nebraska, Rick Perry crashing, and Newt Gingrich surging into second or tied with Mittens for 2nd. This is a very fickle polling season so far.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 03:44 PM) The lockout probably cost him a shot at that In MLB it's usually a strike.
  8. That's 6-1 in the postseason for the Rangers against the Rays if this holds, and 7-8 in the last 2 regular seasons against them.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) I don't remember any whip cream bikinis in Hoosiers. I was wearing that after we beat Duke in the Sweet 16.

For the 1/2 of another person here who still might care/keeps up with this show: That would be a sad but somehow ironically appropriate way for them to go...killed by budget constraints.

  13. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) So.... no iPhone 5 exclusivity to Sprint, huh? Maybe sometime in the future? There have been a lot of "Parts" rumors regarding the iPhone5 that don't appear here. Maybe they just couldn't get the hardware together for it (Japan Earthquake?)
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 02:35 PM) I know you're not an apple guy, but honestly, the iPhone 4 really isn't outdated yet. No reason to rush it into the background quite yet. I'm probably one of the biggest Apple dorks here, and I had very little interest in this device. I'm actually sorta relieved. I figured that this would be the conference where mine went obviously out of date. I see zero reason to upgrade.

  16. This program was entirely set up and run by this administration, out of TARP funds, with no Congressional input to how it was run. Therefore...this is entirely on them...and it's probably my single biggest issue with them. Their failure here has helped make sure there won't be any housing recovery for a whiel. I'm a fan of this one.
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) I completely agree. Even with Ozzie gone, they won't sit him. And they definitely wouldn't trade him if they don't think (rightfully) that Flowers is ready to take over full time. If they had someone willing to take on AJ's full 2012 salary and give something back in return, I can't imagine they'd hold onto him.
  18. So it still hasn't happened yet? I figured by going to the gym I'd bypass the actual rollout. Sign.
  19. Just because we decided to tax forehead wax.
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 11:18 AM) It matters if they were treated any differently by the media and/or given a pass for equally poor behavior. If not, then it doesn't matter. I think these entertainers need to do their job and entertain, and shut the f*** up about politics, because they often give vulnerable and impressionable youngsters very bad ideas by saying something outlandish, stupid or otherwise, whether they believe it or not. I'd say that pretty much no one on 2k5's list was a regular media personality at the time. However, for saying something comparatively mild, the Dixie Chicks had radio stations organizing nationwide burnings of their albums and unofficial bans of playing their music. I'm waiting for the Hank Williams Jr. music burnings to start.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 11:52 AM) 15! Wow! Look out, fat cats! For the Tea party, they'd get about 2 hours on Fox with that kind of crowd.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 11:11 AM) Ok whatever, Indiana is the craziest basketball place on the planet, nowhere even comes close, blah blah blah. Now you're getting it. Yes I know that's trying to be sarcastic.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 11:06 AM) Did you miss the whole "well no one really important said it... well except for the Democrats biggest funder.." George Soros is the Democrats biggest funder? If so...can I say that the Tea Party are all committing Treason because their biggest funder has subverted the Iranian sanctions?
