Complain about Kimbrel here:
Both of those outings features key wild pitches too. Same catcher, one of them was a 2 base WP.

Perspective
For the White Sox to match their 2005 record they will have to lose no more than 9 games the rest of the year.

White Sox at Blue Jays Gamethread, Lynn vs. Manoah, 6:07pm CDT
Because if there’s one thing Grandal is good at, it’s…wait, avoiding wild Pitches and passed balls? Who wrote this script this is all wrong.

well, that took a while.

White Sox at Blue Jays Gamethread, Lynn vs. Manoah, 6:07pm CDT
This team has seemed like they've been coasting for 2 months now. I don't think a 7 game lead by the end of the week would seem particularly tense, but I do wonder what it would be like for them to suddenly feel like they've got a target on them.

Dear Tony (regarding Cesar)
They also won 99 games and had home field advantage in every series (#2 overall record).

The Grandal will come out tomorrow, you can bet your bottom dollar
I just don’t get why they had to feed BS to the public about his timeline. If they had said “we did the surgery and now we think it might be 8 weeks”, I wouldn’t be commenting on this.

As of today we are 7 full weeks into a 4-6 week injury where the guy was constantly said to be ahead of schedule.

Is the White Sox bullpen unusually difficult to manage?
Well that doesn’t address the Kopech and Crochet issue, but aside from that we will see. A rested pen on a team that gets the number 3 seed and gets beaten up it’s first 2 games in Houston isn’t much to brag about. A well rested pen where we wind up with threads about how difficult it must be to use that bullpen since they’re so inconsistent despite talent doesn’t inspire confidence.

Is the White Sox bullpen unusually difficult to manage?
A lot of that is by choice, not necessity. Hendriks pitched 85 innings in the 2019 regular season and it will be surprising if he gets to 70 this year. People insisted Kopech would get plenty of innings in the bullpen to be transitioned to a starter next year and while injury played a role he is on pace to throw just over 60. Same statement about Crochet, no injury for him, and he’s thrown 42 innings all year. Bummer threw 67 innings in 2019, he’s on pace to throw about 55 this season.

Dear Tony (regarding Cesar)
I don’t see how you can justify this. He has Cesar every single day and won’t have anything else even when it’s desperately needed.

He’s a streaky and non terrible option as a corner OF, but I just can’t figure out why managers insist some players are fine in CF when they clearly aren’t. One day emergency fine, regular backup out there? Naw.

That one is on the manager.

Seby is going to hit 30 home runs for the Rays next season somehow.

All he does is hit home runs.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!@
That’s in terms of run expectancy. A lead off walk that didn’t score, in an AB with 2 other bad calls so no one single cal defined the at bat. They were still bad calls, just buried in the statistic.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!@
That’s a terrible take. Are there no other pitchers this year who have been annoyed about being taken out? Did Lance Lynn get that lecture earlier this week about being more concerned with his own ego than anything else? I want a guy who says “f*** this team, I walked a guy, the rest of these guys are dead meat, let me do my job”.
