  1. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 11:02 PM) Anybody else tired of the incessant promos for the new Wall Street movie? Yes, and you know it's going to suck with a slight chance that it's decent.

  3. There are a few reason why I'd like to see the Twins in it all: -Thome -They are run well and I respect them as a franchise -It's better to lose to the best -So people can stop with the "What does getting to the playoffs matter if you never do anything with it?"
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 01:21 PM) They've done a god awful job of promoting the show, the few commercials I saw just featured dogs tearing s*** up with no other clues as to what the show was about. I just assumed it was about dogs which didn't really interest me, luckily I took the time to seek out the true premise of the show: something your average viewer is not going to do. Just look at the promotional poster for the show: That's just dreadful marketing, the show has jack s*** to do with dogs, why in god's name would they push that angle so hard? Along the same lines, why is it even called Terriers?
  5. After just two episodes, is anyone else already sure that Rafi will win the fantasy league?
  6. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 05:03 PM) Seriously? It was widespread. People were fed up with Ozzie's being overly focused on payback. Remember Sean Casey? I think it was around that period of time. Sean Tracey. The only thing that upset me about that situation was that Ozzie put the poor kid in his doghouse (from which nobody escapes) because he missed a guy he was supposed to hit. I am, and always have been, all for retaliation.
  7. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 02:59 PM) You have to protect your players, greg. Why is that so hard to understand? People reiterating something that is common sense in the sport "amazes" you? And isn't it interesting that Ozzie has been heavily criticized (here, at least) this year for not protecting his players when I do believe we used to complain he wanted to hit guys too much. What a difference a year or two makes, huh? I honestly cannot think of one post in which I've seen that opinion.
  8. David Berkowitz and the Sons of Sam
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) Easy, big fella. I respect a program that tries to do something new and finds a vast audience. FOX was brilliant to air this directly following Idol, thus getting that audience to tune in... Personally, the wife loves Glee, and I'll watch it with her occasionally, and it really can be funny while the performances are top-notch. Remember what I said that they haven't made a show you didn't like? This is the type of post that made me say it
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 08:07 AM) WTF? That's actually the one time this season we actually responded by hitting one of their guys back. Well, I see his point. They hit our guy in the head, and we had our softest throwing pitcher respond and left it at that.
  11. QUOTE (IceCreamPants @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 11:26 PM) I love and hate m. knightni shamalayn.... No reviews on DEVIL? No offense, but we're at the point where nobody is dumb enough to even bother giving his movies a shot.
  12. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 06:44 AM) Watched The Event last night. I liked it. I knew there was going to a sci-fi aspect to it, so I wasn't surprised. I hope it makes it and is done better than Flash Forward. Can someone tell me in spoiler tags what happened? I'm not going to watch the show, but I always want to know the premise of shows.
  13. I have never had a problem with flying, and I can even sleep on a plane if I'm tired enough. The only thing is that I've never had a flight longer than 4 hours.
  14. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) He'll get Pujols when he's 39 Ha, no doubt.
  15. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) I figured out they were in Ireland last week. I don't think it was a shock at all this week.
  16. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) Philly: 1.54 million Chicago: 2.8 milllion Even if we are splitting a city it is about even. Factor in more corporate sponsor opportunities being in a large international and national market, the Sox are in just as good, if not a better position than the Phillies if they got their s*** together. We aren't. The Cubs are easily the majority in the city.
  17. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 02:45 PM) I'm a bit confused about the SOA episode last night.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) I like the cut of your jib. Is the poop deck really what I think it is?
  19. QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 12:54 PM) Please refrain from calling people idiots. Depending on how someone defines fluke, them yes, a once in 100 years could easily be called a fluke. This is very normal for him. In such a short time on the board, I don't think I've seen anyone use the terms dumb, stupid, and idiot anywhere near as much as him.
  20. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) Anybody ever see The Godfather Trilogy? I thought it was pretty good. Also there was The Godfather Saga...which put parts 1 & 2 in chronological order. I thought the Trilogy was better, but both were kinda cool and a must see for fans. If I understand correctly, they use the exact same footage from the original movies and just put them in chronological order? No new scenes or anything?
  21. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) I got into SOA early last season and wow can I get lost some times. Never knew there was as deep an Irish connection there. The Cleaner was as creepy as they get. I don't think they really went into it before. As far as I remember, they have only mentioned that they have been in business with the Irish for a very long time.
  22. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) Did you notice that his name was Bachman? Clever. I watched it with my cousin. Since I knew King was going to be on it, I turned to him as soon as they mentioned the cleaner's name and told him it would be Stephen King.
  23. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 10:47 AM) As long as KW stays aboard, I have faith. The guy hates to lose. I wonder what Kenny's thoughts were about the Delmon Young-AJ incident and the Pavano hitting Konerko in the face incident. I wonder how he feels about the team's lack of retaliation. (And no, I don't think soft tossing Buehrle's throw at the twins count). The team's lack of an adequate response really sickened me. Not only do you continue to lose to those f***ers, but you also let them punk you. Inexcusable. I hate this argument. Why does this count as a valid reason? EVERYONE HATES TO LOSE.
  24. QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 11:56 PM) I look forward to some serious changes in the off-season, and if not, some serious thinking about if I want to waste my time and heart on this team in 2011... Agreed. And don't forget money.
