  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) No one makes you watch. I don't. I'm talking about the rest of America. Protest one of the games and see how quickly they come begging us to come back.
  2. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) Obviously posting twice is not cool.. and to think your one of my favorite posters! ¿Qué? I'm flattered.
  3. I quote movies and TV shows all of the time. No matter what conversation I'm in, I can always think of a quote that applies to the situation. Therefore, I'm not even going to start listing off the shows and movies I quote constantly.
  4. Manny certainly wasn't the savior we hoped he'd be.
  5. "Asshole" is an even better nickname for officials.
  6. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 12:39 PM) He did not run ou of gas and comparing his record to the others in the rotation he handled things pretty well IMO Explain.
  7. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) Why? Xylophone! How's that for out of context?
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) The ironic part is that if the US as a whole starts to feel this way, the IOC will fall apart. The US is by far the biggest benefactor to them, not only directly, but we also pay the biggest media money to see the Olympics. I say "f*** it" and we make them understand they need us. Forming a worldwide plot to vote Chicago (the US) out first should piss everyone off. They already hate us, so f***ing up the Olympics money stream won't make a difference in that regard, but it'll show the rest of the world that we're not going to take their bulls***. You want our money, but you don't want us. Enjoy the ratings you'll see out of Bulgaria and Guatemala.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 12:13 PM) For a 5th starter in the American League? Yeah, he was pretty good at his role. Almost any team would have taken him as their 5th starter this season. He didn't specify that. He just said that he was really, really good. He wasn't. I did say that he gave us more than we would anticipate out of someone in his position and that I was thankful for it. I've actually said that multiple times.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 10:16 AM) Completely serious. Season 1 had 6 eps and this one will have 7. Depending on how this season does he said they would do one more. SOURCE That makes me very happy.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 10:45 AM) Is the difference between draft spot 15 and 18 really that big of a deal? Protection of the pick. And yes, every single spot counts.
  12. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 09:54 AM) Garcia has been really really good this year and Pena has only started a couple three games for us. Garcia has the track record Come on. He was more than serviceable when he was healthy and we got more out of him than we thought we would (and I am grateful for that), but he wasn't that good.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 11:52 PM) Its easy to keep it going when you have Michael Jordan. The Bears should have had more success but it turns out Da Coach wasn't as good as everyone in Chicago claims he is. The Blackhawks have 5 of their best players signed for at least the next 5 years, I wouldn't worry about them and their rookie goalie walking away, who had the best defense in front of him. No offense to Antti, he can play, but the Hawks defense was incredible. Just about the most overrated sports figure, not just in this city, but in all of sports. And by most accounts, just a piece of s*** human being. To this day, Ditka feasts off of the accomplishments of Buddy Ryan and coasts through life as an icon. I hate him so much.
  14. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 11:37 AM) That Cubs job has gotten the best of many better managers than Ozzie. Ozzie would crash and burn within three years of taking that job. Anyway, Ozzie is still under contract to the Sox next year so he should keep his big stupid mouth shut. I really wish the Sox would fire his ass already. If I'm KW, immediately after this season ends I would call him in my office and remind him that he is under contract for next year and the team holds an option for 2012. I'd tell him we expect him to honor his contract for next year and then depending on how well he performs we will re-evaluate the situation after the season to decide wheteher or not we will bring him back for 2012 and beyond. Tell him there will be no extension considered until after the 2011 season. If he isn't happy with this he can resign and forfeit his salary but then he still cannot take another job in MLB until the 2011 season is over. I don't. That would make the White Sox look like the bad guys, something Ozzie would hold over their heads for as long as he could. I like the way they're going about it right now. Let Ozzie be the one to show his true colors and allow him to be the bad guy in the media.
  15. Just like this team to get hot at the end when they're already out, screwing up their draft standing.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 10:00 AM) They're taking a British sitcom approach. No more than 3 seasons with each season having 6 or 7 episodes. I'm not sure if you're being serious or not, but that would actually work for me. I've seen Danny McBride in interviews, and he seems like he might be cool enough to do something like that.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 09:57 AM) Eventually someone will tell me what the Hell is going on. f*** that.

    Dexter

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 07:27 AM) Pretty intense first episode. It will be interesting to see Dexter get himself out of what he is in now, especially with Quinn looking at him like he did it and Deb questioning it as well. I cant wait to see Peter Wellers character, he looked creepy as hell in the preview. Who was he in the preview? I noticed that guy from The Faculty is a bad guy.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 12:55 AM) The episode was slowly but so emotionally intense, probably just because the lack of emotion he showed for most of the episode. Can't wait for the rest of the season. I have a suspicion that this season might end similarly to how season 2 did. I disagree. Agreed. And I have completely fallen in love with Boardwalk Empire. Absolutely love it. When they showed the preview for the rest of the season, the first thing that crossed my mind was the whole Doakes angle. I am a little wary that they will use the same storyline, but I have faith in the writers to take it in another direction.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 09:05 PM) I understand the purpose of the episode, but Michael C Hall is the man and I could never see another actor pulling off that episode like he did. The previews for the season look instense. It was awesome to see him lose it and just murder someone in a rage. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 10:00 PM) Eastbound and Down off to a slow start, but it started off slow last season as well. The midget was obviously the funniest part. I still don't think this show has legs. Danny McBride acting like a jagoff, talking himself up, and cursing just doesn't scream "longevity" to me. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) Her singing is still absolutely terrible, but hey.. very nice eye candy to look at. She's grown on me a lot recently (and I've "grown" a bit, too ), but I expected the costume in the video to be a little more revealing.
  21. No. I am absolutely against changing the format for baseball. The only thing that wouldn't bother me is changing the length of the opening playoff series.
