  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 08:19 AM) This is one of the MANY great things about SoA. You never see it coming.
  2. QUOTE (IceCreamPants @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 09:32 AM) Zyrtec is a live saver for my allergies and I have them horribly bad right now. To the point that I have sneeze streaks at least 20 times straight and my eyes and toungue itches. But if I remember to take the Zrytec I am all good. I just napped, and the headache and stuffiness are much more bearable. But I sneezed so hard earlier that my whole back and arms felt like I got hit by a truck. I mean, I've never felt a pain from sneezing, but this crippled me for a few seconds.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 08:09 AM) Those meds probably don't have antihistamines, right? So you are probably allergic to something. Late August is a common time for allergies, one of the weeds gets bad this time of year. Try Claritin or the like. I should've mentioned, I took a Zyrtec yesterday (much earlier in the day). I'll try a Claritin now, though.
  4. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 08:37 PM) Give it a rest. "Censorship"? I always love that arguement here. Since it's what the owners decide what's allowed to be posted, "censorship" is a lame arguement just trying to draw attention to the fact that you've been told to knock it off before (not tonight, but in the past). Suggestion: go find something else to do tonight, so we can enjoy your posts tomorrow. That's a nice way of saying, stop it right now. I'm not one to get offended easily, but even I was thinking that picture was unnecessary. Plus, I really didn't want to look at it over and over again.
  5. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 12:16 AM) You managed to nail the symptoms of baseball retardedness that has plagued some of the members here. They'll even post stats to support their baseball retardedness. Wow, quite the post. Do yourself a favor, if you hate what everyone else has to say here, and continue to make posts like this. It'll get you banned quicker.
  6. In your experience, what is the best medicine for an incessantly stuffy/runny nose? I've had this problem for about a full day now and Nyquil/Theraflu have done nothing.

    I really enjoyed Machete.
  8. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 08:15 PM) Ugh, plus the whole catwalk thing in Tampa...If Karma's real, either they saved a bunch of orphanages from raging fires, or Joe Mauer's about to get hit by a meteor. Ha, thanks for that one.
  9. QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) TV Broadcasting: The guy in charge of the control room (Jim Angio?) Radio Broadcasting: Producer of Rongey's show. White Sox behind-the-scenes job: Scott Reifert White Sox front office: Kenny Williams White Sox player: None of them. If I had the balls to go out and play, I'd be Buehrle. White Sox coach: Joey Cora Wait, who is this?
  10. I can safely say that I've never been that drunk.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 05:45 PM) Wow. My reaction, too.
  12. Great, great win. We did exactly what we needed to do and more with the sweep.
  13. Very nice wins, but I couldn't bring myself to watch either 9th inning.

    I exaggerated a little for effect. Obviously he's not B-movie bad, but he's not a very good actor.

    QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) The more previews I see for "The Town", the more I get jacked. Ben Affleck, bad actor/good director.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) So glad I finally discovered Seth MacFarlane's twitter. I can't stop reading it.
  17. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 12:41 AM) There's a difference between being close-minded and being logical, dude. I just don't like to be inundated with s***.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) There is no point to argue this anymore. No matter how sane you are and provide countless examples of how you are right it will just be brushed away. Why bother? That's the beauty of the block option.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 01:20 PM) Agree, props to Walker. And you're right, it's the pen that put us in this situation. Twins have 29 games left against very bad teams. Lets say they only go 17-12 in those games, which is fair and perhaps too hopeful. For there to be a TIE, the Sox will have to go 21-8 to finish the season, and that includes 7 against a team with a better record than us (BOS) and a trip to the west coast where we've always struggled. Which means we'd have to do something like this: @ BOS 2-1 @ DET 2-2 (facing both Scherzer and Verlander) KC 3-0 MIN 2-1 DET 2-1 @ OAK 2-1 @ LA 2-1 BOS 3-1 CLE 3-0 It's only 4 games, but it sure feels like a lot of ground to make up at this point. That's just a bit harsh. For a majority of this season, they were the only consistently good aspect of the team.
  20. I thought the fastest a person could throw was 103 mph. Obviously, I was wrong.
  21. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 07:03 PM) I'm sorry, but the Hudson love is on overflow. Does anyone honestly think he would've done as good as he has in the AL? How about in a small sandlot that we play in? Jackson always had the stuff and he's still pretty young. Hudson has decent stuff who didn't have the problems that EJ did. With that said, Jackson always had the higher potential. I'm sure KW wasn't like "We'll give you Hudson for EJ...waddayasay?" He probably started with Threets and found out he had to give up Hudson. Maybe Coop didn't like something Hudson did, or didn't do, similar to BMac. Maybe the people who still want Hudson here were BMac's biggest supporters. Either way, keep in mind Jackson was in high demand. You were going to have to give something up. Especially considering they give up Scherzer for him. I don't think it is. Some people are arguing his exact worth, but I don't see anyone blowing him up too much.
  22. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 01:26 AM) Does anybody else feel like this is all silly talk, and he'll be back without much hesitation from either side? Me.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) I'm a pretty big Lucy fan, I think he can be a capable major league backup C, for those reasons mostly. But he's not on the 40 I don't believe, and they weren't going to bump off a serious prospect for him. That's why he's not here. But you may very well seem him on the club in 2011. I did not know he wasn't on the 40.
  24. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) It depends where he ends up signing, if he resigns with the White Sox or another hitter friendly park for the rest of his career he has a shot I guess, but say he signs with the Mets or Atlanta or another team with a bigger park, then he has zero chance IMO. Of course, but I just did some quick math using the "5 years" thrown out there earlier. If he were to hit 5 or 6 more to finish this year, he would have to average about 27 a year.
  25. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 02:25 PM) I'd like to see Paulie back here next year, and for a few years for that matter. Looking at his HR numbers, I would think he would need about 5 more years for 500 HRs. I wonder if he'd make it. I would think it would be possible, especially if he transitioned to a DH. He's definitely one of those guys who could stick around long enough to reach that milestone.
