  1. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) You're right. The season is over. The Twins gained 3 games worth of ground. Yep. Now that I think about it, the Sox now go to Seattle, and even though they've lost 4 straight, they're still a juggernaut. Why? Because Rios blows c***, Jenks swallows, and Santos is a rookie. Totally. Why don't you read the rest of my posts, guy.
  2. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) This is one of those loses, Bobby was outstanding before break, yes he sucked today. We'll see how this team gets up from it and plays Mariners and A's. I expect both series won. His ERA is over 5. No he f***ing wasn't!
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) 2 thoughts 1: Does Rios ever dive? 2: Relax. They actually gained 1 game this series. If you read these last 5 pages, you would've thought their 1.5 out now. Most people (I think, intelligently) see the Twins as the real threat to this team, not the Tigers. We lost ground to them.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) The Yankees have a real closer. Not that it means a damn thing, I'm so done with Chris Farley. Nice
  5. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) Sure is overreaction in here. Not in regards to Jenks. He really is bad.
  6. Please break your own arm, Jenks.
  7. I f***ing hate that fat piece of s***. This team will be blessed when that screw in his fat elbow explodes and he can never pitch again. f*** you, you embarrassingly fat cocksucker. Shave that ugly piece of s*** on your face, too. You make me wish for terrible injuries on your flabby ass.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) Q's already worse than Dye out there. I think his speed advantage alone makes this untrue, but he's going to be just as bad very soon.

QUOTE (ICP! @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 12:22 PM) But did you cry? I also didn't think it was as sad as everyone said. I came much closer to crying when Wall-E almost died.
  10. I've never even heard of At The Drive In.

Saw Up last night. It was really, really good, but it was nowhere near as funny as I expected.
  12. I don't know about Kotsay playing RF, but Jones definitely should be playing the field over Quentin if he's in the lineup. Like I said in the Catch-All, in a few years, Quentin is going to be as bad as Dye ever was in RF.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 11:17 PM) Tigers lose both! We better beat the Twins today, though. I don't like the idea of starting off the second half by losing a series to (what I'd say is) our main opponent for the division. And if they lose today, it will remind me way too much of the way they started off the season: a great win followed by pretty discouraging losses. The pitching and defense need to get back to how they were, or at least similar to it.
  14. Quentin is going to be as bad as Dye ever was in a couple of years.
  15. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 10:17 AM) One particularly famous exception doesn't override this general rule of course, but I couldn't help read this post, think of WSGame 2, and smile. Ha, I knew someone would mention that.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 09:36 AM) If Konerko had sat on the first pitch fastball, the game would have been tied at least. That's always been one of my complaints about Konerko. He'll take that first pitch right down the middle, and it seems like he gets it all the time.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) Bengie Molina hit for the cycle. I gotta see that triple. He was also pulled after that with a tight quad. That...might be the most unlikely event that has ever happened in baseball. It surely has to be top 10, and the most unlikely cycle ever.

QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) Bill Pullman is awesome. Best president in movie history. If you don't get shivers from this, then you're not human: Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 07:22 PM) Give it a rest! We all know READY TO RUMBLE is your favorite movie. I actually really like Lake Placid. It's one of those movies that knows it's bad and has fun with it. It has a great cast, too, with Oliver Platt, Brendan Gleeson, Betty White, Bill Pullman (who I like, but feel like I should hate), and that hot deputy with the nice rack.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 06:48 PM) Oliver Platt always entertains me. An under-rated favorite of mine. I'm waiting for the joke, critic. This isn't like you.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 04:58 PM) And that he completely avoided discussing Quentin's defense last night That's what he does. He makes points, they're refuted, and he ignores them entirely only to make the same points later on in a different thread.
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 10:30 AM) If MB pitches another decade or so at this pace (or until he's 40-ish), gets another few trophies of one kind or another (GG, WS, All Star), he's got a good shot. If he adds a Cy Young somewhere in there, he's probably going to make it. But anything less than that, he's a long shot at best. With that play on opening day, plus the fact that Gold Gloves are automatic once you get your first, I'm sure he's a shoo-in for this year's award.

I actually watched Bull Durham for the first time last night. I really enjoyed it, but a lot of people list it as their #1 baseball (or even sports) movie of all time, and I just don't agree with that. Although, I do like how they got into the superstitious aspect of the game.
  24. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 10:52 PM) Only beef I have is Danks runs should be unearned. Other than that, outstanding win. Go get em tomorrow Gavin! Agreed. I had to turn the game off for two innings, though, after Danks gave up the first two runs. It was obvious that he would give up a good deal more, and I just couldn't listen to Hawk keep harping on the outfield play. I just can't stand him sometimes. Other than that inning, this was a really great game and it's always good to beat the Twins in the opening game of the second half.
  25. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 07:37 PM) If thats real and that guy is still alive with all limbs intact, he is awesome. Are you serious?
