QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 07:15 PM) It's an example of the perfect body type IMO ..May I ask why though?! I don't know...I wouldn't post pictures of my sister or family on a message board. That might just be me, though.

Eh, I wouldn't go posting pictures of people on the site.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 05:34 PM) That's Otter-ly ridiculous! I'll be honest, I had to google your reference.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 09:42 AM) The point is that 1 player in baseball or hockey can dramatically render an overall talent disparity irrelevant. Additionally, lesser quality baseball teams beat higher quality ones all the time. It's a game where the most talented team does not always win, but rather, one where the team that is playing better at the time often does. Additionally, the team with the better SP often wins. In fact, the team with the better pitcher wins 59 % of the time, according to Bill James. In 2009, the Seattle Mariners were 24-9 in Felix Hernandez's starts. In games he did not start, they were 61-68. You explain that disparity, Milk. In 2008, the Blue Jays were 21-13 in Roy Halladay's starts, and 65-63 when he did not start. In 2008, the Giants were 22-12 when Tim Lincecum started, and 50-78 when he did not start. During the last three seasons, the Giants have won 64.7 percent of the time with Lincecum on the mound. The Blue Jays/Phillies have won 60.3 percent of the time with Halladay. And the Mariners have won 61.4 percent of the time when Hernandez starts. Link And if any of those three pitchers could start every game, then a single player would be able to make a team a contender. -

QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 08:48 AM) And you must be a great employee. Again, when you grow up and get a job, you will understand there is different behavior at work and in private. Perhaps your mom and dad get drunk at work, but most adults do not. That is why bartenders and waitresses are sober and their customers get drunk. Different roles. I thought most young adults understand that, but I guess some do not. Again, on the flight back from the game, no problem, keep chugging the booze. Back home with your buddies, keep the booze flowing, he can't celebrate unless he's drunk (or so you're telling me) Which makes me wonder how he will celebrate other life events. I can see him getting s***faced and spraying beer on is new born woo woo! At work, in front of millions, days later, hold back, be professional. Respect your employer and league. But I guess he can't slow his drinking for a couple hours. After almost fifty years on this planet, and meeting and knowing enough alcoholics, you see some common behaviors. Getting drunk at innapropriate times is one common factor. I'm not saying he is, he just might be a socially inept kid who gets drunk sometimes. But as the incidents keep racking up, it will be hard to come to any other conclusion. I get it, you're older than me and a billion times more mature. -
I got home about 25 minutes ago, and I've eaten 6 freeze pops. The humidity today was awful. I think I'm going back for 7 and 8.

I'm not political at all, but holy s***, how the f*** is this oil thing still going on after 62 days?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 10:20 PM) Eh, that's both true and false. Before they were given Pau Gasol for a used tampon (lol J4L) the Kobe Bryant-led Lakers were barely a playoff team. But they were a playoff team, which makes them a contender. I honestly don't think you can say that about baseball. Albert Pujols is likely the best player in baseball, but I still don't think he'd make the Pirates contenders. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 12:30 AM) I'm not writing a term paper, Milk. Also, I see no bibliography. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 05:10 PM) Josh Johnson's line since July, 2008: 30-8, 2.95 ERA, .237 BAA, 1.15 WHIP, 8.3 K/9, 2.5 BB/9, 3.30 K/BB. This is over almost 400 innings pitched. Outstanding talent. One of my buddies asked me a few years ago (2007) whose cards he could buy low on and have the player end up being good. Johnson was my choice.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 05:30 PM) The largest group of abusers were relief pitchers for this exact reason. They don't slow down the breakdown of tissue though. It will increase the ability to workout but will damage other tissue due to this abnormal increase in strength ratio. McGwires constant tendonitis and plantar fasciitis were prime examples. Don't listen to everything B&B say. They are entertaining but not usually factual. I've e-mailed Bernstein a few times and if you disagree with his point he'll send a snide remark and ignore you. He always sticks to his high horse performance to put people down. He is fairly knowledable but only listens when it's agrees with his views.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 06:05 PM) The E is working on a Bobby Heenan DVD, scheduled for release on December 18th. I think I know what I want for a stocking stuffer! I hope they load an entire disc with Heenan promos, top-heavy with classic AWA stuff. As much as we bash WWE (especially you ), I think we can all admit that they do a great job on their DVD's. -
QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) The thread posts dont bother me its just the title that I continue to read over and over and over again. This thread has lasted so long I feel like I love Chase Blackwood. It makes me think of the Bone Thugs and Eazy-E song. I keep having it in my head.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 10:48 AM) I'm gonna have to go with Dominique, I always come across HOT girls with that name, even came across a really hot black waitress with blonde hair named Dominique at Hooters who came up to me out of the blue and complimented me on my tattoos. Plus Vanessa, Ariel, and Keshia are other names I find sexy and met some hot girls with those names. As for guy's names, one name I always thought was cool as hell is Christian ever since I've watched "Lost" (Christian Sheppard) and pro wrestling (wrestler named Christian). I find it funny that any guy actually takes compliments from waitresses as anything other than looking for a bigger tip. Not a shot at you, Don, but in general.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 09:07 PM) Yeah, and do you remember Michael Jordan's game against Boston in the playoffs at the beginning of his career, when he put up 63 and we still lost? You've got to have players around you in basketball and football...but in baseball, as in hockey, if you've got a stud arm or a stud goalie, you can win games you've got no business winning... You cite a single game to support your theory? Come on, basketball is easily the most obvious sport where a single great player can make a nobody team into a contender. In baseball, a player can carry a team for a stretch, but they cannot single-handedly make a team a contender. -
QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:40 PM) put Dayan at 3rd and omar at 2b...I'm loving Omar in the 2 hole Hahahaha.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 05:47 PM) Our ace (no hyperbole) came to pitch. This is what Kenny was talking about when he said a lot of good times were ahead with this guy leading our staff. Oh, and is 'Lexi playing a pretty f***ing mean SS or what? Yes hyperbole.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) I don't have a problem with people being optimistic, ide like nothing more than for this team to make the playoffs.. but, can we settle down until this team is either over .500 or beating the AL teams.. we couldn't sniff a 3 game winning streak until interleague were we've already had two 4 game win streaks.. We are 10-6 in June so far.. that would be 6-1 vs the NL and 4-5 vs the AL When interleague is over, if we continue to be hot against AL teams ill buy into it.. Agreed 100%. -
QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 02:52 AM) They wouldn't have gotten Halladay had they not traded Lee, so essentially yes they did trade Lee for Halladay.. They were on the same day, and probably were sent to the Commissioner for approval at the same time. The trade of Lee was made in order to acquire Halladay, you're right.
-
QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 02:11 PM) I still have no idea why the traded Cliff Lee. Because they got Roy Halladay in return?

QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) Nice info. I am going to London and Paris for my honeymoon in November. I really want to try the Fat Duck. After Europe we are headed to Maldives for a week for lots of sun. I saw pictures from there a few weeks ago, and man is it beautiful looking. It's funny that I really knew nothing about that place other than its name for years and years.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 01:38 PM) I think Comedy Central is having a marathon on Sunday, which should be a good way of preparing for the new episodes Lots of shows do that There's a good chance I won't be leaving the house on Sunday, then. They had all of the episodes from Bender's Game on last night. It amazes me how many small lines from the dialogue just make me think twice and laugh.
