QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) Nobody has an extended run with the belts not named John Cena anymore. Kane deserves something for his loyalty and tenure. Just doesn't interest me as World Champ. So, give him a run for a few weeks (maybe a month) with the belt as a thank you. I can't see how anyone would be more interested in Mysterio as the champ. They're equally blah. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 10:53 AM) Squirrel! Yeah, the dogs and bird were about the only funny parts, but they weren't even that funny.
-
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 11:52 PM) His stretch of horrible was shorter than the rest of the team. This place needs to calm the f*** down sometimes, he's not going to save every chance. He's not going to throw perfect innings 100% of the time, and neither is Putz, Thornton, Sergio, or Raaaaaaandy. Our bullpen has worked thus far and Bobby has been pretty damn solid for over a month up until now. The twins won 1 game of this series and were given 2 more. Considering the run we had, its a much better feeling to make some stupid plays than getting blown out for 3 games. Obviously, as his ERA is almost 5 and his WHIP is terrible.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 03:41 AM) Kane not only winning the MITB but also the WHC ruins it for me.. however its almost perfectly setting up Undertaker to take the belt off him at SummerSlam anyways.. Im diggin The Miz tho, I liked that a lot Oh come on, Kane deserves at least a short run with the belt. It's the first time he's ever had it, and the guy's been around for like 15 years. -
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) Then I apologize. All in all, I think we'll be fine. Jenks wasn't going to put a Gagne-like streak together of saves, and Beckham has raised his average .029 since last Friday. Oh, and again, we play Seattle 7 times in the next week and a half. No doubt that Beckham and Quentin heating up would all but solve the team's offensive problems. I wouldn't complain if we got another power bat, though.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 06:01 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...576&st=6990 That is what I believe has happened. BTW go to that same thread and go back about 20+ pages or so (during the FA frenzy) and that will explain the "RIP" thing on my sig. He still post on the talkbulls. (in fact he was posting there a couple days ago) I don't see anything from Steve in that link. I didn't even know he was banned.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:50 PM) Then stop being annoying. They're 1.5 games up on their way to face the s***ty M's. Again, it might benefit you to read everything I said. I clearly stated that Jenks is the problem. Nowhere did I say that the season was over (I think one guy has been saying that). I did say, however, that it's worrisome that they lost three in a row to the team that most agree is the real competition for the division.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) Thanks. I'm just sick of it. It's the reason I stopped coming to these boards. There are times when you need to be optimistic (7 games against Seattle in the next 13 days or so day [if my math is right, which it probably isn't]) and pessimistic (getting swept in 4 games @ Cleveland). Let's say we just got swept by Cleveland and the Twins gained 3 games on us. I think these boards, these GREAT boards that some of you dopes are killing, would be even worse than what they are right now. I don't think you're supposed to call people names.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 01:20 PM) The original lineups of The Who and Zeppelin. That's mine.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) You're right. The season is over. The Twins gained 3 games worth of ground. Yep. Now that I think about it, the Sox now go to Seattle, and even though they've lost 4 straight, they're still a juggernaut. Why? Because Rios blows c***, Jenks swallows, and Santos is a rookie. Totally. Why don't you read the rest of my posts, guy.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) 2 thoughts 1: Does Rios ever dive? 2: Relax. They actually gained 1 game this series. If you read these last 5 pages, you would've thought their 1.5 out now. Most people (I think, intelligently) see the Twins as the real threat to this team, not the Tigers. We lost ground to them.

Please break your own arm, Jenks.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) Q's already worse than Dye out there. I think his speed advantage alone makes this untrue, but he's going to be just as bad very soon.
-
QUOTE (ICP! @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 12:22 PM) But did you cry? I also didn't think it was as sad as everyone said. I came much closer to crying when Wall-E almost died.

I've never even heard of At The Drive In.

Saw Up last night. It was really, really good, but it was nowhere near as funny as I expected.
-
I don't know about Kotsay playing RF, but Jones definitely should be playing the field over Quentin if he's in the lineup. Like I said in the Catch-All, in a few years, Quentin is going to be as bad as Dye ever was in RF.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 11:17 PM) Tigers lose both! We better beat the Twins today, though. I don't like the idea of starting off the second half by losing a series to (what I'd say is) our main opponent for the division. And if they lose today, it will remind me way too much of the way they started off the season: a great win followed by pretty discouraging losses. The pitching and defense need to get back to how they were, or at least similar to it.

Quentin is going to be as bad as Dye ever was in a couple of years. -
The last time the Sox didn't have a chance late....

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 10:17 AM) One particularly famous exception doesn't override this general rule of course, but I couldn't help read this post, think of WSGame 2, and smile. Ha, I knew someone would mention that. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 09:36 AM) If Konerko had sat on the first pitch fastball, the game would have been tied at least. That's always been one of my complaints about Konerko. He'll take that first pitch right down the middle, and it seems like he gets it all the time.
