Teahen
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 07:59 PM) How horrible does the Teahan signing look now? I mean, it looked bad at the time but with Vizquel and Brown Bear giving the Sox a nice little offense/defense platoon at 3B there is no room for him on the roster. Like others have said, just man up and cut Kotsay. Sox don't need a backup first baseman that is barely hitting his weight. I hope a nickname for Viciedo sticks some time soon because all of these attempts are just getting annoying.

Paul Konerko: All Star
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 04:59 PM) I honestly wish they would have picked Youk for selfish reasons. I'd rather have Paulie get the rest and I don't want him giving our juju to anyone else while he is there. I agree. The rest is better, but then again, I'm sure he'll relax enough out there. He might take a swing or two and just enjoy the scenery the rest of the time.

YOUR FIRST PLACE CHICAGO WHITE SOX!!!
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 05:45 PM) Sox starters over last 8 games..... 49 1/3 IP, 36 H, 10 ER, 12 BB, 29 K, 1.82 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 2.42 K/BB Sox are 8-0 over that stretch. Ha, not too bad.

Hudson called up
I'm going to chalk that first game up to nerves and possibly his rhythm being thrown off. He definitely picked the right day to pitch poorly.

YOUR FIRST PLACE CHICAGO WHITE SOX!!!
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) Eight in a row. 11 games above .500 highest all year, a grand slam, Andruw's 400th, Tanks 2nd, Gordons 1st 3 hit game of the season , Hudsons 1st start of the season, a sweep of the whole home stand, a Linebrink scoreless inning and 1st place all at the end of the 1st half. WOW !!! Did I miss anything ? We've certainly gone into the break almost perfectly. This should be an enjoyable, relaxing few days for the players. And it's so huge to take first place at the "halfway point" of the season.

Hawkisms
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 10:10 AM) I think he means drawers as another word for pants/trousers? Ha, well that makes sense. I still can't recall hearing him ever say that.

QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 07:25 PM) After Gordon's home run just now: "you could have hung all the drawers in cook county on that line drive." That's a gem right there. I still don't get this one. Hanging drawers?

Films Thread
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 03:11 AM) Sooooo boring, there isn't a single scene from that movie that is stuck in my head, completely forgettable. And Ewan McGregor needs to stop doing American accents because they're epically horrible and it's funny because he was doing an American accent while playing a character who in real life is f***ing British an accent that he can actually pull off as a Scotsman. Shut up.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) On that note, I watched Men Who Stare at Goats the other night. Outside of the part where they crash into the stone in the desert, I thought it was incredibly stupid. I really liked The Men Who Stare at Goats.

OK, I'll start this post off by saying that I am drunk (Tex ) and that I was indeed joking around, but also that I was sort of doing it to be a douche. Like qwerty said, nobody has anything bad to say about Flaxx, he's a great poster. I'll take this opportunity to thank qwerty and Felix because they're awesome. I also understand knight's post because, as I admitted, I said it to be a jerk. I probably deserve to get a suspension of some kind, so I won't dispute it if I get one.

Oswalt
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) my feeling too, players give up money to get NTC often, so it's their choice, it happens to a lot of teams, his name is completely slipping my mind right now, but left handed bat who began with Cleveland and had a good career with San Diego and his brother played in the majors, he turned down a deal to the Red Sox a few years ago, I believe their 2nd title, it happens Brian Giles?

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) This team is officially for real in my eyes. Agreed, but please take the series against the Royals. It would be a huge boost to the confidence of the team and fans if they could go into the break in first place.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) First sweep of the angels since the 80's did I hear that right? I know this has already been answered, but I knew it wasn't exactly right. There was a series in 2000 against the Angels where the Sox came back in three straight games, and they were all pretty significant comebacks, too. One of the best series I've ever seen, from what I remember.

Peavy Done for Year; Marquez Up
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:22 PM) Not saying that I did freak out, because I didn't but I can understand why people would. It looked really bad and this is a pitcher with poor mechanics (inverted W) and 2 elbow strains in his history as well as fluid in his shoulder which has caused him to skip side sessions. Hard not to think the worst. Don't you mean a regular M?

Peavy Done for Year; Marquez Up
QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:16 PM) I think Peavy is out until after the Minnesota series, maybe misses 1-2 starts. It would be a good idea to give him a couple of starts off to rest.

Peavy Done for Year; Marquez Up
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:11 PM) hooray I was right and everyone here jumped off a cliff as usual. Strained Aw, have a cookie. And phew...but I'll be more at ease after he gets a break with the ASG and throws a nice effort in his next game.

Peavy Done for Year; Marquez Up
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:05 PM) He doesn't know anything more than he couldn't go tonight - and that's as much as we know. He has inflammation in the shoulder which is pretty painful. You have no way of knowing this. I understand you're trying to look on the bright side, but Peavy easily could have known immediately that he tore a ligament or tendon.
