  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) Buehrle is the guy that can't pitch over the errors....I don't know that any of our pitchers are especially strong mentally....maybe Danksie... I've noticed that Floyd likes to give up a fair amount of unearned runs, too.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Ah yes. The take a verbal dump thread. That's right everyone, get it out of your system. That Vazquez is an underachiever has been my belief for years. Don't play this off like it's a bunch of idiots overreacting to one bad start. He's consistently bad when his team needs him to be good, but he'll be an ace if you're in last place.
  3. QUOTE (KevinM @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) This is just what I was expecting from our stellar fanbase. Not only do people insult Javier's intellect for being unable to have a good game against one of the most dangerous lineups in the game, Milkman insinuates Javier has no genitalia (par for the course on his part). I would bet anyone that Javier finishes at 4.20 ERA for the season and over 200.0 innings. This is such bulls*** on everyone's part. He's our third best pitcher right now and that's not debatable. I'll take him over any other righty we've got for the rest of the season. You've only been around since August of 2007. I have hardly even posted in Pale Hose Talk since that time. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about when you say "par for the course" on my part. But, you did a very good job of defending Vazquez by attacking my character. Perhaps you should focus on the fact that Vazquez has never produced well on a competitive team, and thrives on bad ones.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) At this point in the season it's safe to call an upcoming series the biggest of the year, and even if we sweep and make it a 5.5 game lead, that's not enough to feel safe until there's a late september champagne party in the Sox locker room. That day comes and I'll smoke a nice cuban imported Montecristo cigar somewhere innaporpriate. How do you find an inappropriate place to smoke a cigar in the Yukon Territory?
  5. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 03:36 PM) That's really all that needs to be said, right there. Javy has the best "stuff" on this team but his problem is between the ears. Or between his legs.
  6. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 02:56 PM) This is the kind of thread I expect from our awesome Sox fans. And that's the exact snide comment most would expect from you. Let us have our fun. Vazquez sucks and there's no arguing the point.
  7. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 02:50 PM) eh. close enough 3 guys swinging at ball 4 in the 9th. 9 1st pitch outs. Javier Vasquez. The guy is only our best pitcher. YOU CAN SPELL HIS f***ING NAME RIGHT!
  8. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) We did what we came to do. I'll take it. Yes, I'm sure the team discussed how they plan on losing a game. You play to win every single game.
  9. Wow, just give them the game.
  10. Swisher swings at ball 4. He should've let ball 3 hit him.
  11. We should get to Rodney in his second inning.
  12. QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 02:37 PM) Beautiful double play. Oh, they turned a double play? I was referring to the porn I was watching.
  13. Green? No. Have you SEEN his stuff? His talent is straight through the roof. Teams would line up for blocks for the mere chance to trade for a starter the caliber of Javier Vazquez. We should count our lucky stars that we have the honor to see this man pitch his ass off every 5th day.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 02:05 PM) He's a proven playoff performer. I'd rather have him there than Floyd. Vazquez is a choke artist of the highest level. I'd start any one of our pitchers over him in any playoff situation.
  15. for Javier Vazquez, our most talented and best pitcher. This guy is just a flat-out winner and I, for one, am very happy to have him locked up for years to come. There's something great about knowing he'll always keep you in the game when it matters most, and that he's always going to step up in the big game. This one's for you, Javy.
  16. What's Miner's pitch count?
  17. One of Detroit's announcers sounds just like Joe Morgan.
  18. Stop swinging at the first pitches, you f***ing morons.

I saw probably 10 movies in the last month, but I can't even recall most of them off the top of my head right now. I went with the girlfriend to see Shine A Light at the Imax last night. It surprisingly kind of bored me, as the Stones played a bunch of covers and songs that were really unknown. We actually left a little early to go out drinking. Step Brothers, while not living up to my (ridiculous) expectations, was extremely funny. Mongol was very, very good. It was definitely the best foreign film I'd ever seen, which isn't many. We'll probably go see the X-Files movie this week.
  20. Wow, good job that time.
  21. People need to get into chat. I need to b**** about Vazquez.
