  1. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 12:54 AM) She could be really religious, I met a girl that lived in my dorm this past year who was quite attractive and was saving herself. Well, that was her story. It got you off her case, didn't it? You've been had.
  2. As little as I cared about politics, Tim Russert was the guy who introduced me to politics more than any teacher I ever had. RIP.
  3. There are two things that I didn't even know concerning this: 1.) The Sox drafted Jordan Danks. 2.) John Danks was represented by Boras.
  4. Hahaha, oh man...I laughed for a while at that one.
  5. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 07:47 PM) Yeah I agree, had I seen this link earlier I might have also enjoyed the movie more than I did, still some of the action scenes alone were solid and typical Indiana Jones. Saw "the strangers" last night, not bad. Maybe its just me, all horror/scary movies are revolving around the same concept of some guy coming out of the woods to kill or a family goes to haunted hotel or something. No, that's totally wrong. The action in this movie was SO MUCH MORE over the top than any of the other three combined. In The Last Crusade, he shoots through like 4 German soldiers on a tank. In the new one, they drive a car into a tree, which lightly drops them into a river. In The Temple of Doom, he rides in a rail car. In the new one, he survives a nuclear bomb by hiding in a fridge and being thrown half a mile in it. This movie was nothing like the others.
  6. Bob told me to tell all of you to get into chat.
  7. They do this every year. They always try to make it seem like someone is going to get the Triple Crown, and the horse always gets smoked in the final race. Did you hear the stuff right before the race? They were talking about how Big Brown was cool and collected. It's a f***ing horse.
  8. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 02:18 PM) worst commercial out right now is the taco bell one for the double beef burrito with the rap.....drives me nuts btw i love any of free credit report.coms jingles...those are so bad they are good...like the red roof inn one Oh, I hate those Taco Bell commercials. On the other hand, I love the jingles for almost any Dunkin' Donuts commercials. I especially like the jingle for reluctantly helping my friend move.
  9. With all of these injuries to other teams, we can really make a statement with this series against the Twins. It's starting to look like there are only two other teams that can take this division, the Indians and the Twins. The Indians' chances are fading quickly, and we can really put the Twins in a bad spot this weekend.
  10. I really dislike the commercial for Proactive (I think that's what it is). It's the acne cream stuff. The part that annoys me is the guy who says something along the lines of "you put it on at night and when you wake up in the morning, you don't have acne...that's a good feeling." I cannot stand the sound of that guy's voice, especially when he says that it's a good feeling. I wanna punch that guy.
  11. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 02:54 AM) I watched Ravenous earlier today (and it's coicidentally on IFC in half an hour). Great film for anyone who enjoys a blend of horror and black comedy. I actually own that movie. Don't ask me why.
  12. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) HAHAHAH at Guillen looking like an idiot. It's going to be great during the pregame interviews when reporters ask him about these drastic lineup changes. Get into chat.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 06:57 PM) Actually, it appears there was a change made. They moved Dye down in the order. So, it was (basically) all talk? I'm sure we're all very surprised, ha.
  14. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 04:30 PM) Iron Man was f***ing awesome. I couldn't believe that was Jeff Daniels in that movie. The whole sequence with him putting together the suit with the 3-D virtual design really made me appreciate the guys who have to do the special effects. I was dragged to Sex and the City last night, and it was absolutely brutal. I never watched the show, but knew the premise and didn't laugh once. It was so long and even my girlfriend admitted it was anywhere as good as the TV show. You were right to doubt. It wasn't.
  15. Yeah, Orton is definitely hurt, and I also liked that skit with Adamle. It was a pretty underwhelming PPV. The last match was pretty good, but it was obvious that the wrestlers were setting up traps that would eventually be used against them. I'm sure that Undertaker will also be back in a few months.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 01:44 AM) The records now are whatever you see them to be. Sadly, the chemistry experiment owns both records in MLB's book due to Selig's cowardly approach to PED's in the 1990's and that can't be changed. However, fans know what truly went down, and the records really are whatever each individual fan sees them as. The sacred status of baseball records is gone for all eternity, as is the fact they were undeniable numbers that stood on their own merit. I don't usually agree with you, but I agree with this, word for word.
  17. I disagree. The record is 73 with people who can't think for themselves. I was excited when Howard approached it recently. To say that Bonds is the owner of the record is just like saying OJ was innocent. It's BS, and everyone knows it.
  18. His SLG is .313...I'm finding it hard to convince myself this guy was clean.
  19. I'm surprised there was no thread, or even mention, of Harvey Korman's death. I wasn't too familiar with his work outside of Mel Brooks movies, but I thought he was great in those. RIP Harvey Korman.
  20. QUOTE (KevinM @ May 31, 2008 -> 01:56 PM) I have no idea what statistics you are looking at. His OPS+ in both 2006 and 2007 were great, but his homers fell off greatly in 2007. His average was never that good. So, you can make a case that he's had two great years out of 4 seasons so far, but he's never going to recover this year to put up a decent line. It's just too far into the season. I see no consistency with this guy, as he's relatively young, so I ask why we should believe that he's going to pull out of this? Then, consider that his best year was in 2006, and he's gotten worse and worse since then. In this year alone, he's gotten worse since opening day. He's not like the other guys that are struggling in the lineup. Thome and Konerko have put up big numbers for years. OC has heated up, and I figured he would because he's been consistent throughout this career. We're saying that Swisher will also pull out of this because, like the other guys, he should start to get back towards his career numbers. My point is that Swisher hasn't played long enough to see what player he really is. I don't think there's a reason to believe he'll definitely put up numbers like he did in 2006, and to a lesser extent, 2007.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 31, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) Completely agree. He's only had one really good year. What historical stats can we pull from 3 full seasons in the league? He's not a proven vet, he's a young guy who's had one very good year. Why does he get to keep starting?
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 31, 2008 -> 11:37 AM) With Swisher's historical stats, I think its a mistake to outright bench him. Plus, he won't get better playing only twice a week. Just play Anderson once a series, at least for now. He definitely needs to be benched. He's gotten WORSE as the season's progressed. He's lost, and now I'm honestly starting to think he was a steroid product. It's too bad that he's such a face of the team. That will definitely be a factor in him NOT being benched.
