  1. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) I HAVE TO LET THIS OUT: HOW CAN YOU F*%#^#G HAVE THREE STRIKEOUTS IN A ROW WHEN THE BASES ARE LOADED? PATHETIC!!! There was no point in trying. We can't beat Santana, just ask any player on the Sox.
  2. QUOTE(Allsox @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) The 4 runs he gave up were enuff to cconvince me he's done.... HAVE YOU LOOKED AT HIS POSTSEASON STATS?!?!!?!
  3. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) From the looks of it, I sure am sorry I couldn't watch that game.... Instead I had a very nice time at my daughter's soccer game. Her team lost 2-0, but they tried hard and had fun. She had a few scoring chances, but the goalie was pretty good and made the saves. Could your daughter's soccer coach be the manager for the Sox? I'm sure he'll be competant.
  4. In order to not be banned, I have not spiced up this sentence: El Duque is not good at pitching. He is, in fact, quite the opposite. If you read this, Duque, or someone else from the Sox reads this to you, please don't cry. I don't want to make you feel bad about your inability to pitch. I'm sure you tried.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) Contreras? They're pretty much equally terrible with runners.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) He runs pretty well, El Duque is easy to steal on though. Huge understatement. He must be the easiest pitcher to steal off of in baseball.
  7. SHUT UP, ALL OF YOU. DUQUE'S MAKING GOOD PITCHES. THE TWINS ARE JUST ALL OVER HIM.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Haha, well said. I can't wait to hear Ozzie say how great he pitched today, and that he'll give him another chance. You do know McCarthy isn't Roger Clemens, don't you? Orlando Hernandez in the postseason = Roger Clemens Get it straight.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) Duque is f***ing terrible. Hopefully, this is the last time he starts for the Sox this year. He battled out of the previous innings, but he just allows too many runners to have a chance to be successful now. Just STFU. You'll be grateful when he tears up the postseason. I can't believe you some times.
  10. Best we can hope for is to not be no-hit. That's high hopes.
  11. Instead of someone trying to motivate the team by making saying some vague statement, I'd prefer Ozzie (or anyone, really) to start throwing chairs around in the clubhouse and flipping out and hyping these guys up.
  12. There's plenty of stories, but this one I'm extremely proud of. It's short and sweet. I was absolutely obliterated one time during freshman year, and I don't even remember doing this, but I successfully peed while doing the grapevine (the thing from gym class where you run sideways and keep switching your feet over and over). They told me in the morning, and I looked down at my pants to see if I had "spilled" and I was completely clean. And I still have two more years...
  13. QUOTE(KansasSoxFan @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) The rule makes sense to me. I can't imagine any team giving up a "free" run that they've already earned. Without the rule, I bet Kapler would've crawled home. That would just be pathetic. He tried to get up and walk it, but the trainers wouldn't let him do it.
  14. It hardly bothers me at all since I'm back at school. I'll get to see the Red Sox win another WS this year, so that'll be fantastic. I found out that one of my teachers is a White Sox fan the other day. That was strange because he's the first person I've met out here that's not from Chicago and is a White Sox fan. We both agreed they'd blow it somehow. Seeing all the success of Boston teams recently, I've come to realize that Chicago is a city specifically made for losing. I've accepted it. We suck. Some team here might stumble on a title at some point, I guess. And I guess there's always the '85 Bears.
  15. 1917. We're gonna be waiting next year, too.
  16. Has anyone thanked Buehrle for being an ace yet today? If not, I'd like to be the first.
  17. I was watching it. The umps didn't seem to know what the hell to do for a while.
