  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 06:09 PM) It is funny a board who hates Matt Thornton would want this guy. He allows way more runners and runs. He is a righthander, so it isn't like anyone is clamoring for him to replace Thornton. He is considerably younger and cheaper, and throws very hard. If coop thought he could work with him and get a flaw fixed, I certainly wouldn't mind.

    QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) North America is so freaking fantastic. I like living here too
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 06:07 PM) Los Angeles Mayor’s Office Dear Mayor Emanuel, On Saturday, I received a letter regarding the 2013 NHL Western Conference Championship between the Los Angeles Kings, the reigning NHL Champions, and whatever team it is that they will out-skate, out-hustle and out-score on the way to a repeat appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals. When I saw it was from you, I said to myself, “Geez, I hope he didn’t send me a dead fish.” But being Mayor of Chicago, the third biggest city in America, seems to have calmed you down, so instead of a fish or some other recently deceased animal, I found a list of items you will be sending me when the Los Angeles Kings, the reigning NHL Champions, win the 2013 NHL Western Conference Championship. Thanks! I didn’t know you were a Kings fan! Speaking of hockey, I was recently surprised to learn that Chicago has a professional ice hockey team. Who knew? Has this team been in Chicago long? Do they practice out on Lake Michigan when it freezes over in those famously cold and windy winters of yours? Since I appreciated your gesture so much, I wanted to reciprocate. So in the extremely unlikely case that the Los Angeles Kings, the reigning NHL champions, were to lose to the other team -- I really wish I could remember the name of the team the Los Angeles Kings, the reigning NHL Champions, are playing – I will send you the following: 9 #19 Pastrami Sandwiches from Langer's Deli 9 French Dip Sandwiches from Phillipe the Original For the sandwiches, one case of Morehouse Mustard, the official mustard of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Speaking of baseball, when was the last time the Cubs were in the World Series? One case of beer each from our very own Golden Road and Eagle Rock Breweries. 3 Hollenbeck Burritos from El Tepeyac Cafe, weighing in at five pounds each. 12 bottles of Sriracha Chili Suace And to ensure that you maintain your newfound inner peace, one copy of YogaWorks for Everybody DVD. Also, once the Stanley Cup Finals start, you’re more than welcome to come out to LA to watch the Los Angeles Kings, the reigning NHL Champions, play for the Cup. Seriously, if I had known you were such a Kings fan, I would have invited you earlier. I can always get great seats! Yours truly, Antonio Are the Mayoral bets always this dickish?
  4. A leaguers play a different game. They are just on a different level, from the pitcher to the last guy in the lineup, they all play differently than normal rec league guys.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 07:33 AM) You guys play by the fitness center? BG Softball is played at 801 Mchenry road. Really nice fields, I have only played there a few times but I like the setup
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 11:23 PM) Felix ain't pitching in the rain and cold tomorrow. That should be fun. I would hope rain isn't a factor seeing how Safeco has a retractable roof
  7. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 12:34 PM) Ref = Scott Foster lol Things will escalate quickly and will not recover. I love how Foster and Crawford have been the main refs in the Heat series. NBA at its finest
  8. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 12:29 PM) Hillbillies unite? dadgummit
  9. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 11:18 AM) The funny thing is, how in the world is it warranted? What has Beckham done to make Hawk this giddy about him? He is from Georgia. The end
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 12:29 AM) Who the hell is this? Raise your hand and identify yourself when attempting to call me out. I have no idea who it is either

    QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 09:01 PM) Holy Game of Thrones. No kidding, red wedding indeed
  13. Robert Downey Jr really never was given the Tom cruise treatment. He partied his way out of the Hollywood A list and needed a break (iron man) to get himself back into the good graces of casting directors. Tom Cruise did his own little crazy act and his connection to Scientology magnified things. Affleck made like 4 terrible movies in a row and had to go into hiding and do some directing before he righted his ship.
  14. The M Night deterrent > The Will Smith attraction
  15. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 03:23 PM) I know he struck out but that was a pretty good AB by Viciedo in the first inning. Made him throw a lot of pitches. Total opposite with Dunn
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 10:39 AM) Hibbert vs Heat 2012 semifinals: FG% - 47.5, PPG -12.5, RPG -11.5 Hibbert vs Heat 2012 semifinals last 3 games (all losses): FG% - 44%, PPG -10.0, RPG - 9.6 This, along with his pedestrian career averages (sans blocks), is the Roy Hibbert I know. I'm a numbers guy. I don't do twtw. Hibbert's done nothing in his career that would suggest he could go on this type of explosion. So kill all that "haha, I told you" nonsense. This is Mike Bibby 2002 conference finals at the moment. But we did tell you. And you said "haha you are wrong. Heat are bestest than e'rybody but Kobe because Kobe scored 81 once and that makes him more cold blooded than all snakes except black mambas because that's what he is. heat in 5"
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 10:21 PM) Not at all. I said before the playoffs that there was no scenario outside of a big injury that the Heat could be beat. A 10-year old can clearly see Wade ain't right and hasn't been right for a while. Oh really? Was this an excuse/caveat after you watched the first game? Because prior to the first game you sounded a lot like this QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 18, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) Welp, congrats to the three-time eastern conference champion Heat. I thought maybe with their 3-point shooting that the Knicks could get hot (kinda like the Mavs in '11) and possibly shock the world. Pacers? Boring. Heat in 5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 18, 2013 -> 10:34 PM) NY was 3-1 against Miami (though one of those wins were with 'bron, pants, and chalmers out). Yeah, I know. Regular season means nothing, etc. On paper, Knicks matched up much better. Indiana is a worse version of Memphis. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 18, 2013 -> 10:35 PM) No. That would be J.R. Smith. Interior scoring? Who? Hibbert? lol. He sucks. He's fat and slow. This is the ONLY time you'll get me to agree with booqua. Hibbert is good by today's big man standards. That's it. Unless they hit a s*** load of 3's? That was my point. That's exactly what they do. They only set records for makes and takes on a very good 37% from the field. I'll take my chances with that over Roy Hibbert show. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 18, 2013 -> 10:58 PM) They don't "chuck" threes. They hit a a ton of them on a well above league average percentage. I don't know what the numbers were against Indiana. I'm sure the numbers were down. Point is still the same. We saw Dallas beat the Heat playing a similar style. Would the Knicks have won? Hell no. I would've given them a 10% chance at best. You can't even come up with a realistic scenario for this boring ass, big 10-like, crap Pacer team. That's all I was saying. s*** is over before it even starts.
  18. always a caveat and excuse in everything you say J4L. The rules were different, this guy was injured, the team was bad this time, but but but but but but
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 10:07 PM) There's a big difference between giving the Heat some problems and turning into pre-back surgery Dwight Howard. If something has clicked for him, great. The NBA needs great big men. But nobody came close to predicting what he's doing now. So I don't wanna hear it. ***lalalafingersinmyears*** You declared this series over in the first game, dont give me "i dont want to hear it". Pretty sure you said it probably wont go past 5 games too
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 10:00 PM) gmab. The guy has career averages of 11.3 and 6.8. He's playing out of his mind right now. Get back to me when he does this for even half a year let alone a full year. I'm pretty sure I told you that Miami was going to have a hard time with West and Hibbert, and that was your weak response. Paul George only averaged 12.9 and 5.8 for his career too, so i guess he pretty much sucks in this series too, right?
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 09:27 PM) Lol. Maybe but the Pacers have been getting all the calls tonight. There really hasn't been many calls at all, the refs have been swallowing the whistle a lot
