QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) I think our offense looked much crisper under Martz. Maybe someone could find the stats to prove my point, I'm in a bit of a rush right now, but at least Jays individual statistics bear this out. And for all of Tice's talk of protecting the QB he has not been able to do it any better than Martz did. He's got 31 sacks now. Last year at 7-3 Jay was sacked 21 times. Again, its another huge turnover on the O-Line. There has been very little continuity on the O line since Jay became a Bear

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) ........................ You need a good O line to have a Martz offense and we haven't had a capable O line since the mid 2000s You need a hall of fame left tackle like Orlando Pace to run a Martz offense. Not many teams run the seven step drop anymore because defenses are just too damn fast, it was a recipe for disaster and it cost Cutler a few concussions. It also helps to have 2 hall of fame WRs running routes(and actually know the routes, Hester cough cough).

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) To be fair, Cutler made a couple of bad overthrows on a wide open Davis, Hester's TD drop was inexcuseable. What the hell happened to Hester, he hasn't even been close to breaking a return the last bunch of games? One sure first down was dropped which would have been a 20 yard gain, and then the play in the middle where he was supposed to post the LB, horrible positioning. Even the announcers mentioned that even though it was a bad/high throw, Davis did no favors to Cutler. In the case of Hester, the toy needs to be removed from the toybox. Its over, the guy isnt what he was paid to be, and what he was paid to be ended up ruining what he really was.

Cutler didnt have a great game, but he definitely played well enough to win. Hester and Davis once again were total let downs, and Alshon had a chance to make a great play as well. I will give Jeffery a small pass given that he is a rookie and has not been on the field much this year, but going forward those are plays he needs to make.

How about this, do you think Hannah drugged Debs water? My wife thinks Deb may have done it herself in order to set up Hannah and force Dexter to act. Im kind of on the fence about it, especially after Hannah said "I dont make mistakes" and seeing Deb popping pills throughout the episode

I would love to get Te'o, but I agree that the picks are far more valuable for the Bears right now. Unless they plan on cutting a lot of salary and going crazy through free agency, but that is never a guaranteed fix

I love where Dexter is going, but WTF did he leave the chainsaw running for? If LaGuerta was truly setting up a sting, she would have been watching Dexter all night.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) He got so much out of Johnson, Moore, & Hummel (when his knee was in place), he is gonna have to prove himself without them. Kinda reminds me of Weber, in that he was cruising when Dee, Deron, Augie & crew, but once they left it got much tougher. (Although those weren't Weber's recruits, while Painter did recruit those guys) Big difference there. Painter already has proven he can recruit and coach those types, Weber never could

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 06:17 PM) Yup, started out 7-3. 1-7 vs. Green Bay since then. His future with the Bears may be on the line next Sunday. I'm a fan of Lovie and I think he did well with the roster he was given, but it's definitely time for a change if they don't win a playoff game this year. Its a scary proposition, because we are looking at quite a roster overhaul if Lovie goes.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 06:10 PM) For AP? He ran for 210 last week and averaged 150 a game in November. I don't know what you expect against the best running back of this generation. Regardless, the defense gave up 7 f***ing points. Again, you seem to want to complain the most about the normal things that happen in NFL football games instead of those that actually cost us the game. Im not complaining about the defense. I complained about nick roach, thats all. First quarter. I also complained about the offense, particularly Jeffery and Hester dropping the two would be game tying touchdowns. I said this too QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) So the offense caught two touchdowns, dropped two touchdowns, and gave away two touchdowns So please, stop nitpicking my posts.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 05:56 PM) Mehh, the players were at fault but its hard not to see a more systemic problem at this point. Hate to be 'one of those guys' but this team fails consistently in games that matter which is a problem that points to coaching. Lovie Smith keeps losing to the Packers and ultimately I think that more than anything will get him fired after this year. Nevermind another collapse after a great start to a season...he just can't seem to beat the Packers. He can't seem to find or keep a decent OC, his teams are consistently ranked near the bottom in offense and his defense is quite average imo, elite QB's pick it apart even when everyone is healthy. The Bears mantra of using the running game, STs and defense have fallen completely apart, not one of those 3 phases is good any more. It might just be time to part ways with the HC and by extension the OC as well. Losing to the Packers next week will all but guarantee Lovie's dismissal Lovie actually started out his career very well against the packers. Pretty sure right now he is at 8-10

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 05:54 PM) You guys are being a bit harsh...he had a 52 yard run first play from scrimmage and then had 100 yards for the rest of th game. I thought he made Conte his b**** a hell of a lot more than Roach. Thought Geno Hayes played fine too. Tough to blame this one on the defense. They had one very poor drive (first of the game), but played well after that. Our offense is f***ing pathetic. I did say first quarter. And if you watch the 52 yard run, it happens because Roach gets blown up by I believe Loadholt, and then AP took off and Conte took a really bad angle. Geno Hayes was fine. I didnt hear his name much but he did have a nice tackle for loss that I remember. LOL thats kind of funny. 100 yards for the rest of the game is still awesome.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 05:45 PM) That overthrow went off Marshall's hands (and should have been caught). The only bad throw he really made was the pick six. Maybe 2 other throws that he should have had. Bears come down with the ball and he has 3 td's to 1 pick at a minimum. Possibly more. And I'm considering the crap he has around him. But as a whole, Cutler had a good game (stats or whatever might say one thing, but he made the throws). Bears execution is brutal. Cutler should have had 3 TDs and 2 INTs, but even the first INT, it was a result of Jeffery falling on a timing route(with contact provided by the intercepting player), really tough to blame Cutler there. Of course, he did almost throw another pick which bounced off of the CBs chest. Brutal game. The defense played awful for a crucial 1st quarter, and the Wide Recievers again couldnt help Cutler out when needed.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) Gammons said a Rangers official told the Astros on Wednesday that they had Upton. So something happened to derail it, at least momentarily. Was it losing out on Greinke or something else? The rangers official could have been a little ahead of himself. I'm sure there are many moments at the trade deadline and in the offseason that people think something is done only to see it fall apart
