SOX GAMETHREAD: THERE WILL BE NO NICKNAMES HERE, ONLY WINS
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 04:07 PM) We must jinx and reverse jinx Humber into oblivion I was hoping to reverse the creation of that nickname forever. It is terrible. Almost as bad as someone's rendition of the cubs song with the White Sox in the Cubs place in the lyrics.

SOX GAMETHREAD: THERE WILL BE NO NICKNAMES HERE, ONLY WINS
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) One word Cuchumber Why would you do that? It says explicitly in the title, no nicknames. Why? Because that nickname has done nothing but make Humber bad. If they lose, it's on you/green

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 08:51 AM) Its relatively new but I am already tired of Hawk's "It's All Good!" line. Sit back, relax, and strap it down because it isn't going anywhere anytime soon

2012 White Sox Catch-All thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 03:18 AM) Home > Texas Rangers Blog Rangers vs. White Sox, 7:05 p.m.: Why Yu Darvish could be in for a big night 0 0 comments (1) By SportsDayDFW sports websports@dallasnews.com 11:37 pm on July 26, 2012 | PermalinkRangers starter: RHP Yu Darvish (11-6, 3.88) allowed two runs in seven innings during a win at the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday. This will be Darvish’s first start against the White Sox. Darvish is 7-1 with a 1.70 ERA when facing a club for the first time. In Darvish’s last eight starts, he has held right-handed hitters to a .136 average in 81 at-bats. Matchup of note: A walk is likely when designated hitter Adam Dunn faces Darvish. Dunn has taken an American League-high 75 walks. Darvish has given up 11 walks in his last 151/3 innings and is third in the league for walks allowed with 61. Chicago White Sox starter: LHP Chris Sale (11-3, 2.37) had a personal eight-game winning streak end Saturday when he gave up five runs in seven innings during a loss at Detroit. Sale has three “out” pitches: fastball, slider and change-up. He ranks second in the AL for ERA and third in opponents batting average at .211. Matchup of note: Sale allowed one run in 71/3 innings during a win against the Rangers on July 3, but Josh Hamilton reached base twice in three plate appearances against him. That was noteworthy because Sale has held left-handed hitters to a .205 average and .248 on-base percentage Every stat that was rolled out here by SportsdayDFW was disproven last night, lol

Trade Deadline Top Pitching Targets
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 03:07 PM) If I was KW, I'd be talking to people with the Twins and D-Backs organizations and finding everything I could about Garza's supposed character issues. Might be a non-starter, might actually be an AJ or Everett situation where he fits in.

SOX GAMETHREAD: TAKING YU DOWN FOR THE 4 COUNT
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 07:04 PM) Yep, there's a lot of things to question about what KW has done in the past, but the Quentin for Carter trade is a definite winner for KW. Hell, it was almost 5 years ago. I was over it when it happened.

SOX GAMETHREAD: TAKING YU DOWN FOR THE 4 COUNT
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 06:53 PM) Chris Carter with HR #7 in just 48 AB's. 5-1 A's over Orioles. Cespedes now hitting over .300 on the season. Why do you care do much about what Chris carter does? There have been plenty of prospects that have come into the league guns blazing.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) What NFL team will be the biggest bust? My vote would go to the Steelers That is a hard one to quantify. Did the Steelers do a lot in the offseason to make themselves a favorite? I think the Broncos could have a high bust probability if Peyton doesnt end up being Peyton. Then again, Philly is calling themselves a dynasty again.....- SOX GAMETHREAD: TAKING YU DOWN FOR THE 4 COUNT
“@MDGonzales: De Aza cf, Youkilis 3b , Dunn dh, Konerko 1b, Rios rf, Ramirez ss, Viciedo lf, Flowers c, Beckham 2b, Sale p”- King Felix to the Sox??
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) If Chris Sale were on the open market right now, I shutter to think at what teams would be willing to pay him.- Sox want Grienke "badly"
Hoping Danks comes back and is ok is seriously the worst idea I have heard. At no point during this season did Danks ever look like he was ok, and with his multiple setbacks I just have a hard time believing he can be counted on this season- Penn State horror story
Did anyone hear Franco Harris's interview that B+B replayed yesterday? Pretty crazy how he thinks- Sox want Grienke "badly"
somebody tweeted yesterday that of the 46 runs Greinke has given up, 25 of them came in 5 innings. I think it was Rosenthal- SOX GAMETHREAD: TAKING YU DOWN FOR THE 4 COUNT
Friday is finally here, let see the White Sox continue their little roll and introduce Darvish to a recently awakened offense! GO SOX!- The latest Franchise episode
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) If you watched the episode last night, Heath Bell doesn't exactly care for the way management has handled him this year. I feel so bad that they expect him to close games. Such a weird expectation for him- Buehrle back in four years?
QUOTE (aboz56 @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 11:18 AM) I'm only back to harass Jason. by all means, please do- Buehrle back in four years?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 09:42 AM) 2011-2012 Salaries per team. Bulls "Going for it" - $66,746,162 ZOMG LUXURY TAX - $70,000,000 Lakers - $93,945,748 Heat - $77,133,080 Celtics - $80,768,561 Mavericks - $70,077,245 Spurs - $73,699,420 Magic - $77,506,707 Some people live in reality where they see a team like the Lakers spending $25 million more than the Bulls without fear of the luxury tax so they can compete. Or a f***ing s*** city like Miami outspending the Bulls who have the longest sellout streak in the NBA. All of you fall in line and think the Bulls are great and doing what they can, while in reality they continually spit in the face of the League's best fan-base (proven) while teams like the Philadelphia 76er's out-spend them ($68,932,083). Sure, there's something to be said for smart spending, but there's also something to be said for willing to take on stars with big contracts that JUST MIGHT push you over the dreaded luxury tax threshold. It's a joke, but the fans continue to tow the team line and act like JR truly wants a championship. like- 2012-2013 NBA thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 09:17 AM) I find this funny because the mavs just had an offseason very similar to the bulls '10 offseason, but you are acting like they are the bees knees right now. Well the Mavs are 2 years removed from a title, and the Bulls are 14. Forgive me for being pissed that Mayo was axquired for the same price as Hinrich- 2012-2013 NBA thread
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 08:44 AM) I dont understand this, are you saying that they only pretended to want to bring in Wade and LeBron to tease the fans into thinking they want to contend? No, i am saying nothing ever happens. The Bulls continually tell us to wait another year, another two years, everything is according to plan. You are looking at one small part of the past 14 seasons. Lebron and Wade left everyone high and dry, sure, but this management never takes any risks, never tries to make significant moves. They fall in love with their core, sell it to us as great, and hope everythign works out perfectly. - 2012-2013 NFL Thread
