  1. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 08:49 AM) Where the hell did Oakland come from? http://www.oaklandnet.com/celebrate/Historytimeline.htm
  2. I will say this: KW never pulled the rug out from under Ozzie like what we may see in the next month from Beinfest.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 07:26 AM) True, but his overall results don't match his talent. He has his Cy Young year and is unbeatable at Miller Park. But his road results in the NL have been below average, and his other seasons in KC were solid, but not dominant by any means. Im not saying we should think he is the best ever, but it is not hard to understand why organizations want a pitcher like Greinke. Everyone wants to be the organization he is with when he puts it all together again
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 02:02 PM) I will never understand the Greinke love Why? The kid is amazingly talented
  5. Epic heel turn by punk
  6. Lita was holy s*** hot tonite
  7. Well Backlund was wrong or they changed it because he let it slip
  8. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 05:23 PM) Is this a guess? Or did you see it somewhere? I believe Bob Backlund let it slip in an interview after his RAW appearance a few weeks ago
  9. QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 07:14 PM) Oh whatever, if they had done something immediately it wouldn't have been anywhere near as bad. If they did something immediately, Joe Pa could have been a hero IMO. But I think they honestly thought they could completely bury it
  10. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 05:36 PM) Well there was a lot less CGI used in the last two movies. Batman Begins was supposed to have such a dark overtone which was particularly grimy, and influenced by crime. Essentially, it was supposed to be ghetto Gotham as the crimelords didn't care for the city, nor the people in it. Wayne's father was trying to keep it alive. One of the symbols of that is the Narrows/EL and it being all tagged up. The Chicago Board of Trade was primarily used as Wayne's HQ along with Wayne's Manor(which was shot in England I believe) in Batman Begins. In the 2nd one, it's the Daley Center IIRC. There really wasnt too much CGI in the first, really. Basically seeing through the eyes of the people who were on gas, and when the gas was released into the city. I love that Nolan stays away from CGI as much as he can
  11. My twisted logic on the vacated wins is this: Paterno and the higher ups chose to hide this evil deed(s) from the public in order to shield their program from any negativity they would get from the reaction that the fabled D-Coordinator was in fact a child rapist. While there was no outright visible competitive advantage, there was an advantage that nobody knew, so recruits wouldnt be scared off, donors wouldnt withhold donations, the program maintained its pristine image. There was a benefit to the program to keep this under lock and key. The vacated wins are symbolic, nothing else. Those games were won, fair and square. But now in the books, everyone has to see Paterno down at 12 instead of 1, and they will always know why that was. It is a point that will never be forgotten. Thats just my opinion Here are some twitter reactions to the sanctions http://deadspin.com/5928385/i-hope-u-all-f...tate-punishment
  12. Austin is gonna give Slater the stunner. That will be fun
  13. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) I'll bet you right now we still gonna win 50 games this year. I have no idea why you over rate our old bench so much and under rate our new bench so much. Yeah, Foye and Bellineli are garbage...but C.J. Watson and Brewer, there were some great players! right? Brewer still hasn't been picked up by anyone yet btw You are out of your damn mind
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) Barring grabbing a star, no offseason would make anyone very happy. This team isn't going to win a title or be looked at as a title team until Rose can show he can get back to where he was. Come on Gage, the Bulls rolled out the red carpet for Hinrich while Dallas snags Mayo. That right there is absolute bulls***. Same price.
  15. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) Well other people on this page agree that Foye and Bellinili are quality bench players so you can ROFL and LMAO at them too. You're just a malcontent KY No, Im pissed off at this management that you hold in such high regard that you cannot see how bad of an offseason they are having. Big difference. These replacement players are GARBAGE. This team is going to be absolute brutality on the eyes
  16. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) No, I wouldn't laugh at other teams signing quality bench depth. Some signings I'm not so crazy about, like Nazr Muhammed? I don't like that guy. I really think people like you are upset because you just havent seen these guys play yet. The moment you see our bench clicking and doing well, and our starters healthy, and Stacey King thinking up new nicknames for these guys....you'll love them, you'll cheer for them, you'll forget you were every complaining about these signings. Our old bench was not that good. The only reason they were good, is because of their defense and their chemistry. Well I'm not seeing anybody here clamoring for us to re-sign Asik and Brewer, so the defense is gone. Now we're signing guys who can score. It'll be a different bench, it'll take a while for the chemistry to get there, but I definitely believe this bench can be better than our old bench. Especially when all our starters are healthy again. This is good depth here. LMAO. I stopped right there
  17. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:33 PM) At some point, you have to accept circumstances and stop whining. And by 'you', I mean every Bulls fan everywhere. Yeah, Derrick tore his ACl. Yeah, it limited our options. Yeah, it sucks. Lets move on now and can we try to be a little optimistic about changing our bench around for the better now? f*** that. Im not going to be optimistic about this. If other contenders were signing these players I would be laughing at them. Im not even factoring in Derrick here. This offseason is dogs*** and you know it, you just wont admit it. There is such a thing as trying to get better without Derrick around.
  18. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) I don't know what people expect out of bench players. We're signing bench players and people act like we should be signing super stars. Bellinelli and Foye are an answer, they're an answer to bench depth, that's all. People were clamoring that we need more offense, and now that we're trading a bit of our defense for offense off the bench, people are still unhappy. wth? Some of us have higher standards than 2nd rounders and NBDL standouts. Basically, we are unhappy that this team went ultraconservative, made no effort whatsoever in the offseason to do ANYTHING. You, however, seem to be reveling in it. Yays for Malcolm Thomas!
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) Marvel Phase Two: What We Know Excerpt I would edit that to say "TDKR is the last Batman movie in the Nolan universe(or so we think)". It isnt the last
  20. I bet Curley, Spanier, and Schultz have a perpetual state of dry mouth after Sandusky was found guilty and now this. They are hung out to dry before their trials even started
  21. No time like the present to drive Liriano's value down in the trade market and then snatch him up from the Twins tomorrow GO SOX!!!

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 10:08 PM) Big Brother That was quite a coward play
  23. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 09:25 PM) I hadn't noticed, but I imagine playing starters minutes will get him into shape fast. Nothing builds stamina like repetition. I guess we will see.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) If "Not being able to be in shape" hurt him this season, it might well hurt him next year too if he's backing off on workouts to avoid getting hurt before his contract is finalized. You could see it early in the season. He was huffing and puffing, hands on his knees just a few minutes after entering the game.
  25. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 07:31 PM) I don't think he regressed defensively. His rebound increased from his rookie year and his fouls per game remained more or less the same. Defense is one thing Asik is really good at. It's justified to criticize him for regressing offensively, but to say he regressed defensively too? Nah, I don't agree with that. He finally found his wind at the end of the year and was contributing solid minutes, but for the first half of the season he was horrific. Thibs had him on an extremely short leash, he was good for an instant foul as soon as he entered the game. I was really disappointed in Asik this past season, I expected better.
