  1. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:34 PM) And I won't say we don't have or not have the money. I don't know, but I really think we do and wouldn't have made the commitments we did last year and before in salary if we didn't. I understand your argument it's just that I am not sold on it Why arent you sold? The proof is right in front of your face. The Sox went all in with the expectations of winning, and therefore making a lot of money. They did the complete opposite on both ends. Therefore, they are tearing down because A: players like Buehrle, who were part of the ALL IN process, needed more money. That money was not made last season, so he can not be paid the money he was being offered by other teams, and B: after watching the product on the field, management realized this was not going to work. I know you love your "keep all the great players and deal all the bad players" motto, but it really is totally unrealistic
  2. QUOTE (aboz56 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:18 PM) My favorite Sox player ever not named Frank Thomas. Thanks for the memories, Mark, and good luck in Florida. I'll still root for you. whoa, blast from the past
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) They are all IN. Sound familiar? And you are now complaining about the overspending the White Sox did. I wish you could understand the irony of what the Marlins are doing
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 04:59 PM) I agree with the sentiment you are expressing. This has been a very frustrating season and isn't done yet as far as disappointments. Apparently theSox feel Buerhle can't offer them a quality season or four anymore. Or Jerry is broke. If he is broke then he should save money by canning KW. I don't see the Sox addressing the real issues or problems with this team. All you hear and have now seen is dump salary. With MB and Juan Pierre gone and Vizquel and Castro and also Santos we have cut around $20M plus and keep high paid non-performers. It will take awhile to accept the direction the team is headed and hopefully by ST we can get positive again SMH at this entire post
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 04:50 PM) This is infuriating. When will KW be fired. Mark picks MONEY What a joke of an organization. And where was Jerry to intervene in this one?? And express Paulie-like love for Mark? Cheapass owner. fixed
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:11 AM) I know I've had them at some point, but it must have been years ago. I just happened to buy some yesterday, and it surprised the hell out of me how delicious it was. I like Fuji apples too, but eating honeycrisp apples in the fall is like eating Apple Cider. I love those things
  7. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 12:50 PM) They should let him and George Ryan share a cell. That's actually very sad when you think about it. pretty ironic that a huge part of his campaign was to blast George Ryan and how he would do away with corruption in politics.
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 12:44 PM) It's about time they start stepping up the penalty for white-collar crimes. Unfortunately, he'll probably serve less than half and in a villa. My wife said that he has to serve 80 percent of his time, and has to turn himself in on Feb 16th
  9. i anticipate a comical prison interview
  10. Bernie Fine will skate due to the statute of limitations.
  11. QUOTE (oldsox @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) I still can't believe how Kenny has mis-general managed this team. The Marlins get Reyes and Bell, they already have Hanley Ramirez, and they offer a ten yr deal to Pujols --and all of this would bring their payroll up to $100mm. Meanwhile Kenny has assembled a lousy team that had a payroll of $127mm in 2011, with no significant salary relief possible for at least two yrs, and he keeps his job. Really, the Marlins overspending on those guys has nothing to do with the White Sox. The Marlins are trying to win fans because they have no fanbase due to their lack of commitment to any player that has come up through their system

  13. KW already took a washed out shortstop and converted him to a valuable closer, and then traded him for a fairly well rated minor league pitcher. I like this move, the Sox spent very little and are adding more pieces to the minors
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 10:48 AM) Sadly, I am now craving deli meat.
  15. i liked everything but Cena's segment giving Ryder another shot. His "acting" makes Scott Steiner look oscar worthy QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 11:15 AM) I really hope TLC is the last of Del Rio in the title picture for awhile. Boring. WOuld love a Punk vs. Miz or Ziggler main event at Rumble. Actually, a Punk vs. Miz title match at Mania would be fine with me. I love watching Ziggler wrestle. He bumps like nobody else in the company. Orton used to be like that. Totally agree, but Del Rio sells merchandise so he wont go away any time soon. Anyone else kind of psyched for Big Red Machine Kane again? I hope he gets a nice run before he retires. Maybe this is the leadup to him and Undertaker saying sayonara after Mania

  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 06:15 AM) So you're saying you'd be against the signing? I think he was saying that the pastrami sandwich is to die for
  18. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Dec 2, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) What's left to resolve? The facts seem clear. Is there a legal shoe that's yet to drop? I dont know if he has been reinstated by the MLB yet because of his identity theft charges in the Dominican Republic. It will probably be cleared up though
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 07:39 PM) Take it easy, man. It's an easy joke. Im not getting upset MM, but come on now. Imagine how you would react if i said the exact same thing about a villain you chose, you would defend your choice too. I thought Fiennes was an intense, scary and completely heartless villain, and Voldemort was even moreso in the books. I also know that there are plenty of extremely good villains that were left out of my list unintentionally(totally spaced out on two MAJOR villains and didnt feel like resubmitting and giving knightni more work to do), but these lists will probably look different for all of us 10 years from now. Except for flasoxx. he probably will always have the same list of classic horror villains from now until the day he dies
  20. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) I wans't questioning the validity. It just seems too young for guys posting on this site to vote for. We all grew up with Disney villains. Harry Potter came out when most of us were 20+. so my age determines whether i can recognize if Voldemort is a good villain or not? What other qualifiers should i look out for?
  21. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) Voldemort really, guys? And the Saw franchise is terrible, but that discussion has been rehashed over and over on this board. Feel free to submit your own list that lords over everyone elses lists The quality of the overall film doesnt always effect the quality of a good villain. I look at the body of work, how many lives are affected and destroyed, the type of damage inflicted etc. There was a lot that went into it for me
  22. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) Pointless. Not if the reward pans out. Im not all for this, but it is certainly not pointless

    2011 TV Thread

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 08:53 PM) I get that, but you see it now too dont you? especially with the psychiatrist talking to Deb? it is weird, but it is definitely looking like that is a direction they are considering I know, I know, Steve9347 said it isnt going to happen therefore it is not allowed because he knows.
  24. Favre's dream of playing for every NFC north team is still in play
  25. hilarious, Rodgers is shattering every QB record in the books en route to a 16-0 season and Tebow is MVP. Praise da lawd!
