  1. QUOTE (oldsox @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) Why would Sizemore want to play with the White Sox? So he could team with Rios and Dunn? What a pair to draw to. Way to go Kenny. Have you missed the memo that this is a speculative thread?
  2. Does anyone have any problems with Adobe wanting to update on their PC constantly? I just installed a few updates on my computer that I have been putting off(Java, Itunes/Quicktime, Adobe), and when I rebooted my computer, an Adobe popup shows up asking me to update my flash player. It happens every time I update Adobe, it feels like I update the software every 3 days

Those smart cars freak me out when I am driving next to them. They look like golf carts in the road that could swerve in front of me at any time. I saw one on 90 on the way to my softball game and moved two lanes over because I didnt want to be anywhere near it.
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 09:27 AM) I can think of a Chicago team that could really use Samardzija right about now. Eh, that ship has sailed. I cant really see him being much more than a Brian Finneran at this point in his career, it wasnt like he was blessed with amazing speed
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 05:16 PM) Not sure if serious. Does not compute. Not serious. Just like the rest of the thread. lighten up francis
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 08:42 AM) Wow. Getting one of those scorers in here would be huge for the Bulls. Keeping the continuity will also be big, because there isn't going to be time to get used to each other when the season starts again. Fortunately every other team in the NBA will have the same problem
  7. Maybe Rivers shredded his shoulder and is playing through it, hence the loss of his pinpoint accuracy. Rivers has stayed pretty healthy throughout his career, this may be his bump in the road. Or, it could be just the exception season
  8. on cue, espn has a Tebow update at the half
  9. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) I get that the media hyped him so much so that some people love him and others don't and it has pretty much nothing to do with football on either of the extremes ends of that but I have no idea how he got drafted in the first round. How does an NFL team fall into media hype? That still amazes me. Josh McDaniels was on a whole new level of bad. He was on quite the ego-trip after the Matt Cassel season in New England. He parlayed that into a head coach job with full GM duties. The broncos deserve the season they are having after making such an epic bad decision
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 04:06 PM) You may well be right that he just simply sucks and he'll never be good, but all this started back in his junior year of college. Hell no it didnt. it started the moment he stepped on campus at Florida
  11. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 02:36 PM) .....ok.....we get it Another lame post like this will get you "future endeavored" by headquarters. Consider yourself warned. Laurianitis is watching you
  12. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 03:13 PM) So . . . Terry Boers in reply to hitting coach being the second toughest job in baseball said something like all they do is get drunk on planes and fight announcers. sounds like Orlando Cabrera
  13. Do you remember all of the criticism for Rex Grossman for his "bad Rex" moments and all of the critical statements about him and his preperation and Ron Rivera calling him a mental midget and all of the bad articles? do you ever remember an apologist column such as this? http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/33052141
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 10:04 AM) MDGonzales Mark Gonzales Sox make it official with hirings of McEwing, Manto and Parent as coaches. whitesox Chicago White Sox News: #WhiteSox have named Jeff Manto as the club’s hitting coach, Joe McEwing as third base coach and Mark Parent as bench coach I all the sudden want to head to the liquor store for some Manto Malt Liquor
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 09:39 AM) If that's the case...that's an issue which is coachable/learnable with time and a good QB coach. Does denver even have a QB Coach? it is a win now league, the broncos arent going to try and coach up Tebow when they can just get a luck/landry jones/etc in the next draft.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 09:37 AM) Balta, stick to other sports buddy. First... "Rodgers". Second... just because they were both drafted the same year doesn't mean you can just use this weird statement as a broad way to state what would have happened to Rodgers. I'm sure he'd have wound up this awesome had he started day one or waited as long as he did or started anywhere in between. the Rogers mispelling really bugs you, doesnt it Stephen?
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 09:21 AM) One week I think the Saints are right there with the Packers and then they lose to the Rams. that was a hideous loss for them. if they were a college team that would have killed them in the bcs standings, lol
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 09:00 AM) Then they shouldn't have benched Orton for him in the first place. benching him when they did was the right move. not trading him to miami when they had the chance was the wrong move. if they let orton continue to suck like he was, the groundswell support for tebow would have just grown to epic proportions, they had to let the fans see tebow in all of his glory
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 08:28 AM) The post where you said "Read my post again if you think I said that" was in regards to me asking if you thought Rogers would have attained this same level of success if he was given the starting job right away. In your first post here, you cast doubt on yourself having said that, in the 2nd post, you argue that is exactly the case. Anyway...I think Rogers would have stepped in right away and produced multiple years of struggling, of the sort that cost offensive coordinators their job regularly. And yes, I think that's the path to being Alex-Smithed. I'll leave it at that. Balta, this is exactly what I said in my first post: QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 07:59 AM) Rodgers sat for 3, and I think we all can see that he probably could have come in sooner and played competently, if not very well. That is not referring to his career, that is referring to his first season starting, and my second above quote shows that I was referring to his first year. That is not an Alex Smith career indictment right there. He very well may have struggled out of the gate, but personally I think Rodgers would have figured his s*** out a hell of a lot quicker than Alex Smith has done, particularly because Green Bay surrounded him with players that will help him achieve the success he currently is enjoying.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 08:22 AM) Then you're agreeing with my original statement that having Aaron Rogers start right away was an invitation for him to become a mediocre quarterback? Not at all. I think he would have started out at the very minimum as a competent if not very good QB. As he played more and matured, he would have become what we see now, if not sooner than he did before. Nice try at twisting my words though
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 08:20 AM) Do you think that if Aaron Rogers had somehow stepped in and been given the starting job right away that he'd have had this level of success? I suppose its possible, but I would say that both physically, technically, and psychologically, the 3 years on the bench were incredibly important for him. I don't see Luck needing anything like that. Read my post again if you think I said that. And whether Luck needs that or not is totally irrelevant. Luck is an incredible asset for a team like Indy, and having him as a backup option to Manning who could go down at any time and be done forever, that is an awesome thing to have. Something that the Chargers had for a short period of time with brees and rivers
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 08:14 AM) Records of this were not hard to find. Link Im not arguing the fact that he had questionable mechanics balta. You say it was risking him becoming an Alex Smith, the situations arent even close to compareable. Smith had a different OC every season, and was surrounded in absolute s*** talent and coaching for the first 6 years of his career. Aaron Rodgers has had the same coaching staff from his second year on, with a ready made playoff team surrounding him as well. They arent even close to the same situation.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 08:10 AM) I think the Colts have an easier pick than the Rams do. I think they take him for sure. I know my father is no professional athlete, but the neck surgery he had 9 years ago reduced him to a shell of his former self. He cant feel his fingers, gets shooting pains down his arms, cant sleep well. its bad news. Say Miami and Indy end the season 0-fer, how is the pick decided? It cant be SOS if both of them lost every game
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 08:04 AM) Rogers was a mid-20's pick who a lot of people thought had serious mechanical issues coming out of college. Having Rogers start right away was an invitation to turning him into Alex Smith. Having Luck sit for 3 years is a complete waste...he ought to be starting by day 1 in the league. LOL, ok. So you say. Indy has a tough decision to make, and they have to trust Peyton will be honest with them. Once you f*** with the neck, it doesnt get better for you, It only becomes a manageable situation. Peytons profession could make that situation ten times worse in one hit
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 08:01 AM) I could actually see them trading Bradford. You get Luck then, and a s***load of other picks and/or players. yeah, but they will never get back that money they paid him upfront(50 mil in guarantees), and then they will be turning around and paying Luck a similar chunk of money. I think St Louis could do it, but it would be a really tough decision to make. Plus, you look at Bradfords season this year, and you wonder what the return would be for an often injured, extremely inconsistent QB that hasnt really done anything yet at the NFL level
